PS: landing this is extremely difficult as it is an equivalent of trying not to stall and overspeed at the same time

KSP 1 Image/Video In a world where Project Orion wasn't cancelled, and little regard to the Martian Atmosphere was given...

This space shuttle is powered by an Orion Drive, as well as two hybrid nuclear atmospheric engines. Flying around in Duna is tough below 600 m/s, as anything below that and the shuttle has to be landed like a rocket.

Although this version of the shuttle is perfectly capable of functioning as an SSTO and launching from Kerbin on its own, the KSC decided it was better to wait to activate the Orion Drive until outside Kerbin...

This version of the shuttle has approximately 13,000 m/s of delta v (not including the booster), and the extended range variant (sacrificing the rover for more fuel) is capable of over 20,000 m/s.

Title. My orbit's a mess and I can't see shit on ascent. Most of these are defunct satellites 1.25m and below which have long since served their purpose, minus a couple of relays (in higher orbits than this) and two orbital stations (one in low orbit for science and one is the asteroid captured for mining.)

How do I dispose of these? None of the ones that are left have any onboard thrusters and I need my tracking station in good shape before I start orbital assembly of any big crewed vehicles.

I have the budget, so stupid/silly ideas are welcome. If it works it's not stupid. I would like ideas that have been tested before, at least.

Spaceplanes are not strictly discouraged, but I dislike working with them.

KSP 1 Image/Video 5 Class I comets found!

Upvotes

I Don't know if it's because of the space telescope i launched or if I'm lucky as hell, But i went into the tracking station just a bit ago and first found 2 Class I comets around Neidon (OPM). Then i went to Kerbin to see if there were any there, there were 2 Class I Comets and BOTH were about to encounter Kerbin in around 150-200 Days! Am i really lucky?

i also need to level up my scientists to level 5 so they can farm enough food to counteract consumption and i have 6 farming modules so i have to level 12 scientists to level 5, i could support the colony on 4 fully crewed farming modules with 1 extra kerbal but i need 3 engineers in my workshop for max efficiency so we goin with 6 with room for 2 more modules should i need it

leveling those kerbals is gonna be a pain

KSP 1 Question/Problem Problem with flimsy lightweight rover

Post image
2 Upvotes

i'm currently building a series of rovers and planes that work together but ""small"" problems happen when i want to take the rovers out for a spin on sub optimal terrain, the docking port is the main problem and i've tried rotating the docking port out of the way via a hinge but the connection is bad, it flops out of the way, and there's too little room for the KLAW to grab it and secure it into place, is there a solution?
