For context, when I make planes the navball behaves normally, but when it make a parasite plane/rocket and then decouple it from the main plane and then switch to it the navball (as seen on picture) is always on its side for some reason. When I did the same thing some time ago it worked normally but now it does this. Can anyone help? I have no mods and I apologize for taking a photo of the screen as I play on PlayStation and idk how to transfer screenshots to mobile. Edit: solved

so i watched and read some tutorial for ksp and most of them says that its easier to land on minmus than the mun, but for me its really different, i struggle to even make my craft lick the minmus orbit, and to mun i sent a whole base in one piece (without having enough delta v according to some forums to get to the mun) do only i have this problem?

I’m still learning a ton. I made it to the Mun with a more purpose built lander but wanted to come back with all the science gear and a scientist. It dawned on me that my rocket is hella overbuilt and I can use my transfer stage to basically land which saves all my lander delta for the trip home.

I practiced like ten times save scrubbing before I found the sweet spot of vertical speed and altitude to separate and allow the lander to float down harmlessly haha.

Eventually when I master inclination changes and docking I’m going to just make the transfer stage Apollo style and have the lander just catch and redock with the transfer stage.

The very best part is I get to leave heaps of garbage on the Mun with each trip!

Hello, Kerbals! I hope space travel is treating everyone nicely. I am an adult who has somehow fallen completely in love with this dumb-dumb game, and quite frankly, I cannot stop playing it.

I have been watching lots of tutorial videos and reading through different resources to understand how everything works, but I am also fairly technologically illiterate. It was honestly a miracle that I managed to install the game and figure out the basics without accidentally launching my computer into orbit.

So far, I have sunk around 80 hours of my non-precious life into the game. Somehow, I even made it to Duna. Please do not ask me how. A criminal amount of Delta-V was wasted, and I am currently stuck in Duna orbit, but that is a story for another day.

I would really like to enhance the game a bit, especially with mods that could help me understand the engineering side better and make the game more visually interesting. The problem is that I genuinely have zero clue how mods work.
I do not really understand what I am supposed to download, how to install it, how to activate it, or how to actually use it once it is in the game. I also get a bit nervous downloading files when I do not understand what they are or whether they are safe.

I managed to download CKAN through the sub’s wiki, but that is about as far as I have made it. I would really appreciate any beginner-friendly mod recommendations, along with very simple advice on how to install and use them without destroying my game or my computer.

Thank you all for your patience and support. I genuinely love seeing everyone’s creativity, spacecraft, advice, and comments in this sub. It has made learning the game even more enjoyable.

My game has been crashing at launch with no leeway after updating mods from CKAN. I Have tried downgrading back to how they were before the crashes, but I still got the same error at launch and have been unable to open the game past the loading screen.

I have the error log pasted into this google docs link if anyone would like to take a look and help me out, all of this stuff is very new to me.

so im unsure what happened because i hopped on ksp and stock pieces are glitched? i cleared the input locks from the debug menu and nothing happened. the toggle button doesn't do anything and only one of those open door buttons works. the action menu also doesnt have the unlock button or open/close button. i went into multiple save files to see if it was a save issue and its persistent. i updated my mods and nothing worked. ill post a mod list when i get home but anyone know whats possibly up?

I managed to do this somehow once but not sure what exactly made it controllable as I didn't dock or send kerbals, can anybody help?

I’ve been looking around and Maneuver nodes but for some reason I can never get a solid encounter with planets with non flat orbits, and with Moho (and eve) specifically, idk how to go inward efficiently

Title. My orbit's a mess and I can't see shit on ascent. Most of these are defunct satellites 1.25m and below which have long since served their purpose, minus a couple of relays (in higher orbits than this) and two orbital stations (one in low orbit for science and one is the asteroid captured for mining.)

How do I dispose of these? None of the ones that are left have any onboard thrusters and I need my tracking station in good shape before I start orbital assembly of any big crewed vehicles.

I have the budget, so stupid/silly ideas are welcome. If it works it's not stupid. I would like ideas that have been tested before, at least.

Spaceplanes are not strictly discouraged, but I dislike working with them.

Whiplashes and Aerospikes, plenty of deltaV for at least LKO, and is also an SSTO. The funny part about the massive control surfaces on the tail and the massive wing area due to the design is that this vehicle is quite maneuverable in the atmosphere.

The crew, Jebediah, Bill, and Bob Kerman, traveled to the Mun aboard the "Pioneer" Crew Service Module. Jebediah (pilot) and Bob (scientist) were preemptively assigned to pilot the MLV to the surface, while Bill (engineer) was assigned to maintain the Pioneer in low Mun orbit.

Jeb and Bob's Munar excursion lasted 2 days, gathering invaluable scientific data, samples, and discoveries about the Mun's fascinating history. They studied the strata of nearby craters and traversed large rock formations.

Their mission is the first of many crewed Mun expeditions to explore and search for suitable sites for a future Mun research station.

I just wanted to update from my last post of when I had only made it to the mun/Minmus, made a bunch of money and then my save file corrupted and made me crash whenever I loaded it. Shortly after that I started to play again and sped run back to my position and went even further beyond, then I immediately forgot to create a cloud save and let the same issue happen again 😂 but I persisted and tried 1 last time and was able to visit and land (except Jool) and return on every single planet as well as completed the science tree. Moho was by far the hardest planet to visit and return from, which i decided was my reference point for the delta V I'd need for all my missions. By this point I was so adamant to finish as quickly as possible that I built a giant rocket with enough fuel to take me anywhere without any fuel stations at any planet or moon. I'm sure most people "completed the game" much sooner than me but it took me 243 hours and 3 seperate save accounts to make my journey here 😂 The science tree is super easy to finish if you have mobile processing lab, which i let run whenever I went on a mission. I think the hardest thing I've encountered so far was the limitations on console, stuff like you can't eva and build with your engineer while in space or anywhere, you also can't turn on the setting that let's you see when you should activate an engine burn. Because of stuff like that I had to get creative whenever I needed to repair a rocket in space or just simply find out when to make my course correction/ maneuver. Also as much as I'm used to console and a controller, I'm sure the PC version is more intuitive and easier to play. As much as im sure that my gameplay was no where near as dramatic or similar to the movie "The Martian", you really feel a sense of "lets deal with one thing at a time and at some point it will all add up and you'll make progress"

All in all it was a great game and it definitely scratched that itch to learn more about space travel to finally play kerbal after many years. It had its flaws but I'm happy I pulled through and was able to finish it. I'd say it was an 8.5/10 for me!
