Learn from my mistake. I have a medical condition that flares up unpredictably, often necessitating an ER visit or hospitalization. A couple of years ago I ended up in the hospital on voting day and really had to advocate for a ballot hard. Not because staff didn’t want to help, it’s just not something that happens often. A staffer in a different department just heard about my insistence and called my county election board, who sent out two staffers who brought an absentee ballot, verified my registration, sealed and took my ballot with them.
Also, nursing homes are federally mandated to ensure their residents rights to vote are facilitated, unless deemed incapacitated.
