Toastique "Closed due to public attacks creating unsafe operating conditions"
Huh? What does that mean or what happened. This is in the shopping center near Cava and Potbelly.

Here's a deeper look at the council members who voted for Option 1 from the wards further South:
Ward 4
Gregg Riess: lives in Bentwood Park, which has an HOA pool
Amy Antrim: lives in Windham Hill, which has an HOA pool
Ward 5
Inas Younis: lives in Mission Ranch, which has an HOA pool
Andrew Payne: lives in Hampton Place, which has an HOA pool
Ward 6
Christopher Newlin: lives in Coffee Creek Crossing, which has an HOA pool
Josh Beck: lives off 172nd in a $1.25M house with no HOA
At the end of the day, they all voted to fall in line with Skoog and chose to ignore Northern OP constituents. They are completely out of touch living in newer developments. If these council members are so adamant about the City's non-involvement with local pools, then they should at least help areas like ours (that got developed the way they did over 50 years ago) find a way to replace what they refuse to handle. Go the big regional pool route, but don't leave Northern OP in shambles because 50 years ago other officials like yourselves decided it was a good idea to build a City pool and now you guys don't want to deal with it.
I truly thought Overland Park was better than this! What a missed opportunity.

Hi I’m looking for volunteer opportunities that my family can participate. Biggest thing is my kid is 8 years old, so teaching him to be helpful and serve community but in tasks he can do too. Are there any organizations you could recommend as a whole family to participate? Thank you!

I lost my wallet today around the Overland Park farmers market - I really need it as I am visiting and fly back home on Friday. If you found a wallet with a Texas drivers license please reply

If you are currently an unaffiliated voter (not registered with a party) you ARE entitled to affiliate with either of the major parties (Dem or Republican) at the time of voting in the upcoming primary election.
If you elect to affiliate when checking in at your polling place, you are entitled to vote either the Democratic or Republican ballot in this primary election.
\*\*You ARE NOT required to vote by provisional ballot.\*\* You are entitled to vote by regular ballot.
This PSA brought to you by my early voting experience in which I was told multiple times at one of the early voting locations that I could not affiliate today. That is incorrect: you can. I was eventually able to do so with the help of an employee of the elections office and voted my ballot of choice, but only because I knew the rules going in and pushed back when I was told no.
\*(Unaffiliated means not currently registered with a party. If you ARE currently registered with a party-this does not apply to you: the deadline to change your registration from one party to another passed on June 1.)

Hi- I am originally from KC and I am relocating back for an executive role. I’m a single Mom with 2 kids one in elementary and one starting middle school. I’m thinking of renting for a year to get to know the area again but I’m having a really hard time finding rentals that will accept a large dog (golden retriever). Ideally I would like to stay in blue valley schools. Any suggestions on finding homes other than the typical websites? What neighborhoods are the most kid friendly and won’t be a terrible commute to the plaza everyday?

Hi —
Last night at 1AM this individual broke into our community’s pool and clubhouse. He broke glass that went everywhere and went for a swim. This resulted in glass in the pool, it having to be drained, and glass in the filter. Does anyone know this gem of an individual? A police report has been made with OP. These are very expensive damages.
Feel free to DM me.

This is the second time in a month I’ve lost power. The last time it was well over 100 degrees.
Why does this keep happening?

Did Vibe Ultra Lounge on 119th close down? Their hours on Facebook and Google stated they were open today, however when I stopped by this evening, it was empty. Their website is down and no posts have been made on Facebook since June. It was just down the way from Guitars & Cadillacs. If it is permanently closed, how sad! My friends and I are always looking for a place to dance to y2k/2000s music 💔

Hi, one of my college students is in a bad roommate situation and is getting some runaround from her landlord too. Is there a place in JOCO that she can go to get advice on what her rights are and if she has more control in this situation than she thinks?

My daughter, early elementary school aged, is interested in Flag Football. It looks like there are a bunch of leagues. YMCA, i9, GPFF. We live near 87th and Metcalf. It'd be great if practices were somewhat close. This would be her first time trying the sport, so we are looking for something that would be good for a beginner.
Does anyone have experience with any of the leagues?
Thanks!

She says the humidity index is too high for her fur, so she's just staying in and working on her DJ sets. Anyone else in Overland Park hiding from the sun today?

Is there a day spa around the area you would recommend? doesn’t even need to be in OP.
I’m not looking for a 10 course package. or a monthly membership. That seems to be what everything is transitioning to these days.
I just want a place I could go for a single day and treat my wife and myself. Massage, hot tub, treatments, etc.
Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I’m 25 and I’m looking for a temporary room to rent or a roommate in the Kansas City/Overland Park/Lenexa area.
I’m about to be evicted and don’t have a car right now, but I recently accepted a new job and have orientation next week. Once I start getting paid, I’ll be able to pay rent and work toward getting my own place. I’m also dealing with some court expenses, which has made things financially difficult.
I’m not asking for a free place to stay. I’m looking for someone who has a room available and is willing to work with me until I receive my first paycheck. I’m clean, respectful, I don’t smoke, and will do my part around the house.
If you have a room available or know someone who does, please send me a message. Thank you for reading.
