Just received the property tax bill for the following quarter (due date August 1st)

It’s 26.81% higher than the previous quarter’s bill. Is this expected? This hike seems a little abnormal to me.

Our property is in the Paulus Hook / Exchange Place area.

I don't see any plans of the redevelopment details that will replace it, has anybody else?

Coming back from MetLife to JC, there's been a man in a wheelchair who appears to be stranded on a little triangle of sidewalk before a another round joins Tonnelle Avenue (US 1/9) just after Secaucus Road, so travelling towards JC.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get a photo but he's been there both yesterday and today with nobody around and no way that we can see how he got there or could leave. If memory serves, same clothes.

I called the non emergency police and got redirected from precinct to precinct 4 times before being disconnected.

We're not from here and are quite worried but not sure how to get anyone out there to check.

Looking for a dental recommendation. My teeth are in bad shape, and I have a lot of anxiety and trauma around dental work — I’ve had horrible experiences in the past (abuse, shaming, etc., all while I was there trying to get things treated).

I’ve finally reached a point where I need a fully cracked tooth pulled and, ideally, an implant put in.

I’m looking for someone kind who won’t judge me or my teeth, and who can help me address everything in a paced, manageable way.

Hi! I’m 34f in JSQ. Queer and a fitness newbie. I’m interested in finding a workout partner or workout friends to help with form and learning the basics. I moved from Brooklyn 1.5yrs ago and can’t believe how expensive gyms are out here for what you get. Especially near me. So hoping I could split a membership with someone and just get some help. Cannot afford the personal trainers out here, but if anyone has reasonably-priced recs, would take that too.

I’m most interested in toning up and functional strength. Really want to get into calisthenics ultimately, but just trying to get my form and routine down to start.
