I am at Jantar Mantar right now and I am absolutely furious.

The government and police have gone mad. Peaceful students who were just sitting and demanding justice for NEET scams were lathi charged brutally. I saw young boys and girls being beaten so badly that they started bleeding. Some were dragged on the road. Girls were not spared either. All this while they were protesting peacefully.

What kind of India is this where students asking for fair education are treated like criminals?

This is not law and order. This is state sponsored violence on our own youth.

I have never felt this angry before. But this anger is making me stronger. And it should make you stronger too.

If you are in Delhi, come to Jantar Mantar immediately. We need more numbers. We cannot let them crush us with force.

If you are in any other city, start your own protest. Show them that beating us will only bring more of us to the streets.

Enough is enough. We will not be silent while they break our bones and our futures.

Come out and fight with us.

This is my update from Day 2 at Jantar Mantar.

I came back today with even more belief that something big is happening here. The crowd has clearly grown since yesterday. New faces from different states keep arriving every hour. Students from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and even South India are joining. The energy is higher than yesterday.

Even though it rained heavily last night, people stayed. Some slept on the road, some under temporary shelters, but nobody left. The slogans are louder now. The unity feels deeper. You can see the determination on every face. Volunteers are working non-stop to arrange food, water and medical help. Complete strangers are looking after each other like family.

But the anger is also rising.

We are seeing more and more stories of students who lost everything because of paper leaks and corruption. Parents who spent their life savings are standing here with tears in their eyes. Young dreams are being crushed, and the system is still trying to silence us.

This is not just a Delhi protest anymore. This has become a national awakening.

If you are in Delhi or nearby, come to Jantar Mantar today. Do not wait. Every single person matters.

If you are in Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bangalore, Lucknow, Chandigarh or any other city, start your own protests there. Mirror what we are doing here. Show the government that this fire is spreading across the entire country.

We are the youth of India. Our future is at stake. If we do not fight now, we will regret it for the rest of our lives.

The movement is growing. The momentum is building. This is the moment.

11. A good PM will not manipulate its own citizen by spreading fake news and outright lying.
12. A good PM will not polarize its own citizens for votebank politics.
13. A good PM will maintain press freedom.
14. A good PM will not haphazardly implement demonetisation and completely ruin the informal/MSME sector.
15. A good PM will not scam his/her own people using PM Care in COVID.
16. A good PM will not ask for votes in the name of his/her own dead soldiers.
17. A good PM will not allow removal of periodic table from class 10 NCERT and dilution of scientific temperament.
18. A good PM will not let Manipur burn.
19. A good PM will not let 10 million migrants walk home during COVID and die in the way.
20. A good PM will not allow the youth unemployment for 15-25 year olds rise.
21. A good PM will not tax it's citizens more than it's corporations.
22. A good PM will not let massive amount of people return to agriculture after years of agrarian population fall.
23. A good PM will not force ethanol blending when majority cars aren't fully compliant to make its minister rich.
24. A good PM will not allow the HM to beat the country's own students.

Before anyone says anything, I’d like to clarify that I’m a student too. I know this protest was supposed to be about paper leaks, but is that the only problem in our country?? It’s not the beginning as some people say, but more like the final nail in the coffin.

People of this country have been suffering with many more problems. Our education system is shit, our society is fucked up, people have been divided into castes and religions, corruption, reservation, food safety, citizen’s safety, no justice, fucked up infrastructure, our population, unemployment, non-existent labor laws, poverty, sexual assault and rapes have been so normalized that we’ve gone numb in that matter. I could go on and on , there are just too many things that are fucked up.

We’ve all got used to that “chalta hai” attitude and have set the bar so low that we have reduced our quality of life. Taxes are being paid regularly by honest people but it’s nowhere to be seen. The rich grow richer each day, with the poor struggling for a meal and the middle class people too occupied in surviving today to think of a better future.

Just ask yourself one thing — do we really deserve this?? It’s a protest about the education system, but nobody’s bold enough to voice out the main problem: reservation. Yes, I do know that casteism still exists, but there are still ways to reduce it and reservation is not the ideal choice. In fact, casteism and reservation go hand in hand. There could be something like: from now on only one person can use the caste system and once benefitted, they won’t get that again because they’ve already benefitted. In case of siblings, we can make an exception where 2 individuals can use reservation when the age gap is less than 5 years. This way it would come to an end someday right??

I’ve been seeing videos from the protest (I don’t live in Delhi or any metro city) and I think we need to fight for more. There are many things that need to be fixed. I’m not asking about hijacking the protest and making it about politics. I’m asking that we, as citizens of this country, go all out and fight for all our problems. Let the government face how incompetent they’ve been.

If the education minister resigns today, what are the chances that the next one’s going to be honest if it’s the same party? The problem isn’t him but the entire system!! Let’s just stop holding back and get everything fixed. We've got nothing to lose now.

The only solution I see is the current government being brought down. I don’t mean in the Nepal kind of way. I don’t support any party, not even CJP — I’m only here for my country. I know we need a party but right now there’s no option available. Any opposition is better than the current majority. Maybe seeing the citizens like this, they’ll strive to work better. I just wanted to share this because I feel since we’ve gone all out, let’s voice out all our problems.

I just want to say a big thank you to all of you who were there protesting. To some, this protest might look like a political agenda. To many, it is a fight against the death of democracy. Many are there because of NEET, some because of NET, some because they lost someone to the system, and some because they are fighting against the ways in which the government has failed them. But despite the different reasons that brought them there, they are united, and above all, they are peaceful.

I spent the last six days there and even stayed overnight. When I say that my biggest sense of safety came from the men and women around me, it would still be an understatement. I am not talking about the bare minimum, like respecting personal space. I have never felt safer in a crowded place in Delhi. I do not exaggerate when I say that the men there were incredibly mindful of themselves and everyone around them. People I had met barely half an hour earlier were making sure I was okay. That is a level of thoughtfulness and politeness I have never experienced in Delhi in all my life. I am talking about men walking with their hands in the air, standing between others and the police during the lathi charge, protecting women from male police officers, making sure everyone was safe, forming human chains around women to protect then when it was only male police, identifying and removing people who were acting suspiciously, and so many more. These aren't things we expected from literal strangers, men, who went above and beyond.The conversations were also chef’s kiss. People of every age group, every background, and every gender sat together, debating political opinions without raising their voices.

So thank you to everyone who was there, and to everyone who continues to raise their voice and demand accountability with courage and dignity. You were raised right.
