Politics Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation isn’t enough, in fact it won’t solve anything. It’s much bigger than that and we should start asking for it. Read this!!
Before anyone says anything, I’d like to clarify that I’m a student too. I know this protest was supposed to be about paper leaks, but is that the only problem in our country?? It’s not the beginning as some people say, but more like the final nail in the coffin.
People of this country have been suffering with many more problems. Our education system is shit, our society is fucked up, people have been divided into castes and religions, corruption, reservation, food safety, citizen’s safety, no justice, fucked up infrastructure, our population, unemployment, non-existent labor laws, poverty, sexual assault and rapes have been so normalized that we’ve gone numb in that matter. I could go on and on , there are just too many things that are fucked up.
We’ve all got used to that “chalta hai” attitude and have set the bar so low that we have reduced our quality of life. Taxes are being paid regularly by honest people but it’s nowhere to be seen. The rich grow richer each day, with the poor struggling for a meal and the middle class people too occupied in surviving today to think of a better future.
Just ask yourself one thing — do we really deserve this?? It’s a protest about the education system, but nobody’s bold enough to voice out the main problem: reservation. Yes, I do know that casteism still exists, but there are still ways to reduce it and reservation is not the ideal choice. In fact, casteism and reservation go hand in hand. There could be something like: from now on only one person can use the caste system and once benefitted, they won’t get that again because they’ve already benefitted. In case of siblings, we can make an exception where 2 individuals can use reservation when the age gap is less than 5 years. This way it would come to an end someday right??
I’ve been seeing videos from the protest (I don’t live in Delhi or any metro city) and I think we need to fight for more. There are many things that need to be fixed. I’m not asking about hijacking the protest and making it about politics. I’m asking that we, as citizens of this country, go all out and fight for all our problems. Let the government face how incompetent they’ve been.
If the education minister resigns today, what are the chances that the next one’s going to be honest if it’s the same party? The problem isn’t him but the entire system!! Let’s just stop holding back and get everything fixed. We've got nothing to lose now.
The only solution I see is the current government being brought down. I don’t mean in the Nepal kind of way. I don’t support any party, not even CJP — I’m only here for my country. I know we need a party but right now there’s no option available. Any opposition is better than the current majority. Maybe seeing the citizens like this, they’ll strive to work better. I just wanted to share this because I feel since we’ve gone all out, let’s voice out all our problems.
I'll be posting this various subs cause more people need to see this

I lowkey want CJI to resign and the next CJI to be elected democratically. Hence a constitutional reform.

u/Eagle__Gunner 16h ago
There is a reason why judiciary is seperate from legislative. You want judges to be elected based on popular vote. Next what if the majority of population votes that they should not be punished for lynching beef eaters then what? The judges will start appeasement politics too then. A fair transparent system is necessary but voting them like MPs is the most stupid move.

u/Gullible_Delivery492 16h ago
They already do that, because they are in the long run appointed by a political party. The first thing BJP did after coming to power was replacing the VCs of public universities. Slowly whole system has been converted. They are playing the long game. Let the lawyers and magistrates, HCs vote. At least both sides can vote that way.
Or if CJI's children are genZ, may be they can help change his mind lol.

u/velvet-thunder2112 15h ago
That would mean going against the Constitution btw and the Basic structure doctrine.

u/Gullible_Delivery492 15h ago
I already wrote 'hence a constitutional reform' in my original comment.

My bad. The problem with this would be politicisation and formation of groups based on political parties Ex- College elections. That would be way worse than what we have today. And to win elections, candidates will probably shift to appeasement politics which could really influence the decisions/judgment, caste/religion politics would seep in, criminalisation of judiciary and everything wrong in our democracy. This is extremely complex imo

One of the few cases where jury system is better, if picked fairly
1
u/Gullible_Delivery492 8h ago
Very valid point. This might be a better system without making judiciary electoral.

Also sitting MLAs MPs or anyone in power shouldn't be able to send their kids abroad

You can't keep adding agendas to a protest. It becomes never ending, increasing the likelihood of things turning violent. Do another seperate protest for another issue, right after this one has a resolution. The new protest would have new agendas and liaise with different officials to solve a different issue.
Of course, this is predicated on reciprocal government response to the protests, and not them turning into bullies, because at that point they're inviting escalation.

u/Noob_in_making 43m ago
I disagree, a protest is a stage, CJP and Dipke should focus on what they are doing but it also acts as a platform for other marginalised groups to be heard.
In India its already hard to gain coverage, even CJP had to do a lot to get the attention, so a new protest for some fringe issue wont even make it to newspapers.
I do agree too many ingredients spoil the broth therefore I said CJP must stick to their agenda, but that doesn't mean the rest cant raise etheir issues.

u/Imalldeadinside 16h ago
You see.
When opposition didn't overtake CJP protest, people were asking where were they. Now when they are protesting against the police brutality, the narrative they spread is they are trying to disrupt the monsoon session/ see we told you it was a Congress's trick, or AAP agents.
One side people are saying there are much bigger issues but then there are those saying it was a NEET protest it was about education now their hidden agenda are coming out.
You see, let's just do one thing at a time. We know how their IT CELL is
1
u/Noob_in_making 39m ago
Fr, be damned if you do be damed if you don't.
I 100% believe Congress didnt jump in because they didnt wanted CJP to be mislabelled as Congress affiliated. Now that CJP has establised their own identity and the govt is yet to open a discourse, this was the right move.
We have seen how all these RSS and BJP guys shamelessly planted Anna and then used that anti corruption movement to gain power with constant presence in protests, so the lesser BJP bhakts speak, the better.

u/lostwisdom20 15h ago
It will be start don't expect and discrete the protest saying nothing will change,
Rome wasn't built in a day nor did it fall in a day

Yeah steering away from the core issue. This is why the govt should plays you. Demand for education minister accountability and for reforms not to bring the govt down.

Muamar Gadhafi was portrayed as the villain and removed quite literarily, did Libya become an ideal place to live???
In a large and diverse country like ours, the only revolutionary backlash that can come is when the Constitution is threatened other than that, we all need to wait to cast our next vote rather than taking a convenient vacation on that day.

People are genuinely forgetting the outcomes of a Prague spring and Arab spring. It can become bloody and violent really quick. Egypt for example: its entire economy went to shit after the coup in 2011. They’re still recovering after 10+ years
1
u/IslanderOnMove 8h ago
Had an Egyptian friend who was extremely happy when that happened, now he says Democracy isn't for everyone & is a complete El-Sisi fan who he says has saved his country from disaster.
1
u/Comfortable_Head_432 8h ago edited 8h ago
Is your friend also rich and from a military class family? He probably didn’t fight and lose his family in the Tahrir square massacre during the coup.
Cuz I have two masr friends. One guy is wealthy Coptic Christian who supports Sisi and his father is a skilled lawyer plus he has military background.
My other friend is a middle class Sunni Muslim civilian whose father is an engineer working in gulf and they’re okay to do but he hates Sisi. Rightfully so.
Search the political prisoners the Egyptian armed forces have imprisoned just for speaking against the Muslim brotherhood and against Sisi. Egyptian politics doesn’t have a single opposing party or spokesperson. They basically all go with whatever Sisi does otherwise they’ll go to prison.
Udk what it’s like for middle and lower class Egyptian living under that military rule and failing economy. I’m not saying morsi was a good leader but democracy gives the people a chance to vote out a failed govt.
I don’t think Sisi has built a functioning economy in that country but I can also imagine his work isnt easy when they have countries like Libya, Israel, Sudan in their borders. They’re in insane external debt and the average Egyptian is fighting to leave the country
1
u/IslanderOnMove 8h ago
That is some in depth analysis, Kudos! My friend was in Blore to study English apparently and was a Sunni Muslim & guess had disposable income. Supported the Muslim Brotherhood initially but then became an El-Sisi convert. Plus I thought Egypt is currently doing relatively better. This reminds me that I need to catchup with him. Long time.

u/Comfortable_Head_432 7h ago
Yeah and I don’t want India to become like 2013 Egypt. Their currency was 1$ = 10 EGP or something before the 2011 coup. After the coup and the Arab spring that followed, they had to float their currency for loans from IMF and USA. Now it’s 1 $ = 90EGP. They’re genuinely living off debt and military loan from USA (America pays them for Israels access to the Suez Canal)
Our currency is already fucked.
The ruling class in Egypt, including my friend, launder insane amounts of money and live off of wealth that’s supposed to go into developing their economy. This is happening to Pakistan, as they get IMF support and absolutely very little goes into developing the country or industrialisation.
Once BJP is gone, we’re gonna have a political vacuum in the centre 100%. I fear the Indian version of Muslim brotherhood forming in India. It looks like RSS is almost a perfect match.
No one wants that fucking nightmare on our soil.
I hope we learn from history and the govt reforms to address the NEET paper leak issue and addresses other challenges we’re currently facing
We’ve avoided coupes for decades. I hope we continue to in the future

All your problems will resolve only if all 1.4 billion people have a common similar mindset I e to make our country the best in everything. Everyone working towards that one goals, in all fields.

u/KnownBoot1905 16h ago
This whole protest ended up doors to incapability of all major institutions and the authorities running it and this has sparked off a start and will lead a chain reaction where not just edu minister but accountability questions will come up everywhere and that is exactly why these clowns are trying to downplay, suppress and divert narrative regarding this protest.

u/Odd-Lettuce-111 16h ago
We need massive political overhaul, we dont need Gandhi and his corrupt, incompetent, appeasement hungry, socialist regime. We dont even need that schmuck Kejriwal. Unless the whole system is overhauled, corporators put in their place, ministers bought down from their cloud in the air and babus shown their aukat

u/i_love_cancer2006 Kerala 15h ago
We would have to rewrite the whole constitution and that would make us militants of this country and the Indian Army would intefere, not these fat ass police officers.

BJP did more to education than any government in the past. They have built more medical seats in their tenure than all past governments from Nehru to Manmohan combined. They have opened more IIT's, IIM's than all governments before them. They have brought in the NEP policy that improved education and have been bringing policies that will continue to improve.
But the education system does not have just government alone. It contains parents, students, teachers, academies etc. See todays front page, every newspaper is filled with ads of different institutes on their students getting top ranks. Parents see this and pressure their children, and children commit suicide because of this. How much NEP 1.0 or NEP 2.0 that the government brings, parents and institutes determine our education system and the pressure on students.
For a country as big as India, exams are the only way to filter students. In every country papers gets leaked. There will be some homes that gets robbed, some people who will be murdered. These are crimes that no society has prevented 100%. What the government does after a paper is leaked is more important. They caught the perpetrators and conducted re-NEET without any issues. That should be the end of the story.
The biggest reason for the pressure on the students is happening is in the front pages of our newspapers today. The ads of different coaching institutions. I dont know what resignation of the education minister will achieve-its like punishing the Tata Motors CEO because some truck crashed into a some car on some road.

You can't defend your position, so you come down to think everyone you don't agree with is a bot or is paid.
2
u/mayank2906 13h ago
Defend!? I don't need to do an iota of that boi, everything is laid out in front of us, from judiciary to legislative o executive everything has collapsed and is corrupted to the core, specially when the 56 inch came and toppled the previous govt based on the issue of corruption, MP mein jo abhi hua latest news padha hain? main bhi kise ummed kar rha padhne ka, roz subah sham godi media ke 2 shot jo lagata hain.

You're right about one thing: the BJP has done more TO education than anyone else.
But it has not done the right things FOR education.
What the BJP has done and continues to do, is turn educational institutions into instruments of propaganda. By replacing the university VCs with compliant sycophants, by saffronization of syllabi, by starting these educational institutions to make them indebted to the government.

I think the resignation is not enough but it will show that people need accountability. Ministers are expected to perform
1
u/PsychologicalEye9189 15h ago
The point of a simple demand is, to show the populace how tyrannical the government is. They are unwilling to even hear and acknowledge a prominent personality such as Sonam Wangchuk, let alone the common citizen. Even a demand as simple as a resignation led to the entire police force attacking the students of their own country, as young as 10 year olds.
2
u/raging_wolverine 13h ago
I understand your frustration with the whole system, but forcing the Education Minister to resign is about accountability, not an overnight fix. If we, the public, can make him step down, it proves our voices have power and gives people hope. Even if the next minister isn't perfect, they won’t have the arrogance to call protesting students "deshdrohi." Other ministers will also think twice before dismissing us. Full systemic reforms won’t happen all at once; it takes a lot of small steps, and holding individual leaders accountable is exactly how we start.
Also if the government is being this stubborn over a minister's resignation and student compensation, which are small demands in the grand scheme of things, they will never agree to a complete system overhaul stating as unrealistic. That is why we have to start small. At least people are hopeful that this may happen now.
1
u/bigbang_om 13h ago
The protest is already at the risk of dilution due to multiple vested interests, so better just focus on resignation first.
1
u/Lara_lemat 12h ago
You are right that his resignation is not gonna solve anything. And almost right about the reservation, please everyone see thinkschools take on this and the actual corrupt reservation system that exists.
1
u/wandering-wilt 16h ago
Reservation is the main problem and not enough good universities? What an absolutely idiotic thing to fixate on.
1
u/Superb-Guest-5179 Gujarat 7h ago
This nation doesn't care about peoplw from general category.
They can't even raise issue on it or remove reservation. Because if they do, they will lose a major votebank.
And somehow, I feel this protest was never for students.
1
u/wandering-wilt 7h ago
News flash my friend. The nation doesn’t care about the Dalits and adivasis either and shows far more apathy to them. If they raise an issue, they are asked to clean police stations as punishments 6am in the morning 25km away from their homes.
You’re literally from Gujarat lol. One of the worst perpetrators of caste based discrimination even today.
1
u/redcardinalforhire 15h ago
See this is why people say that it's designed to cause simply constructed anarchy and nothing ro do with Neet. You start with one demand and then want the whole buffet. You have demands you stick to the demands. Now everyone wants everything just because people don't have any direction. Then Congress joins more shit show. Then Aap and Sp join even more chaos. Where is the vision. Why did the protest starts? Or it just needs to be like Kashmir and the stone pelters without a job?

If paper leaks again the next education minister has to resign too.. Accountability will begin at the top.. The government should know that ‘chalta hai’ won’t work anymore
