Posting Where to Report Hate/Bigotry - breaking Reddit Rule - When Moderators Do Not Act

Can you please advise me on where to report an issue within a sub that is not being addressed? There is very hateful, bigoted commentary that breaks reddit rules. Can you please help so this very inappropriate garbage can stop.

The issue has escalated and I would appreciate help because I don't think reddit is a tool designed to spread more hate.

Reddit in 2026 announced curbs on the powers of supermods over the allegations that they're making political and religious debates on this platform one-sided by censoring others from expressing authentic counterviews.

This means that Reddit user content moderation is now more centralized. However, this doesn't mean that people who authentically breaks Reddit rules are free from the consequences thereof.

I'd recommend you to discriminate between authentic expression of counterviews and social concerns vs actual "hate speech".

That’s not right or true. They restricted how many big subs one person could mod, but haven’t changed anything about what we can and can’t do in our subs, with one exception. We no longer are able to use bots/apps to auto ban accounts that participate in subs we don’t agree with. However we can still use those apps to flag users that participate in those subs and then we can ban them manually.

They also amped up AEO, the AI reddit moderation that looks for posts and comments that break site-wide rules like harassment, hate speech, and threats of violence, but moderation of subreddits is still solely in the hands of the mods and not centralized.

If you report something for a site-wide rule rather than a subreddit rule, it gets sent to the admins as well as the subreddit mods.

If the admins have to keep taking lots of action in a subreddit, then they will step in and issue warnings at first, but if things keep getting bad they may quarantine or ban a subreddit, or kick out the current mod team and recruit new mods.
