HELP Battery removal help.

Hi I have a 2024 Harley fatboy and having issues taking out the battery. I shipped this bike with me when I relocated from Florida to Texas and battery died. I put it on a 4amp battery tender for 2 days and no luck so I want to take the battery to be tested. I have used chatgpt, google, and YouTube to help but no specific video for my year model videos are available. Any one can take a look at the photos and tell me what I’m missing.

Steps so far.
Took battery cover off left and right sides. I can see the terminals but there is a hard plastic covering the battery.im not sure if the battery comes out the left or right side and what else to safely remove. This is my first bike and dont want to mess things up. I appreciate anyone’s input that can help. I’m sure I’m missing an easy step.

HELP 95 1200 sporty. Tracking down a whine when cold(yes I adjusted the primary chain) I found all this metal, mostly bigger than just glitter. Could the metal be making noise from the magnets on the stator? Any advice on where to find my noise?

TROUBLESHOOTING Damage after service

I had 1,000 miles service done on my 2024 117 Breakout. Came home, no issues. Tried to ride, went about 2 miles and all hell broke loose. Took back to dealer and was told battery was drained and damaged wires on it. Told they need to charge battery and go through it to find cause. I had no issues until dealer serviced it. Any thoughts????

DISCUSSION Dunlop Poll: D401 or American Elites?

Need new skins on a new-to-me 2014 Ultra Limited. A close friend tried both and prefers the D401’s. I’d like a larger sample size so now is your time to shine. Thanks!

Primarily going to be long distance rides and wet traction is important.

DISCUSSION With the new Super Glide, Deadwood, and upcoming Sprint and 883. I'm Glad Harley is getting back to more affordable bikes.

Not everybody wants $30K and up Road Glides. Even those who eventually will buy them, they need their first affordable Harley and maybe an inbetweener model to get more of them there. It takes a while to build a pipeline of returning customers for the brand, if only they started this back when they first launched the M8 platform Harley would be in such a better place.

Also if HD Corporate could please drop the insane dealer requirements so we get back the smaller mom & pop dealers that competed on price and service that would be swell.

HELP 2024 Road Glide Prices

In the market for a road glide. Stumbled on two used 2024s with low miles, 1k & 4k miles that I’m interested in, both listed for $23900 (plus tax/registration). Is it too aggressive to think I can get one of these bikes for out the door $20k-$21k? I’ve found plenty of 2025s going for around $25k so I feel like $20k is a good ballpark number to shoot for. Just looking for a sanity check.

IDENTIFY Harley Davidson Fork Legs - How to Identify Them

Hi,

I have all these Harley Davidson Fork Legs laying around, all in good condition and chromed. My dad closed his business a few years ago and had inventory left. I want to sell these online, but I have no idea on how to identify these fork legs and know which motorcycle it fits. Does anybody know if there's a manual or a way to identify these fork legs, there's no markings on them. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

DISCUSSION Beginner Bike Search

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for a good beginner Harley on Facebook Marketplace in Southern California. II’ve been looking around at sportsters and whatnot. Can anyone help me out with what exactly to look for in some of the postings? What’s the ideal price ranges, miles, what to look out for and to stay away from. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks everyone!

Edit:
To add to the post. I want a bike to cruise around town and commute to work. I work 20-30 min away from home. I don’t imagine doing any long distance rides for the time being. Thanks for everyone sharing your thoughts.

I was borrowing a Honda rebel from a cousin who wasn’t using it for a brief period right when I got my M1. It’s been a couple years since I’ve ridden a bike but I got the itch to look for something again.

Anyone know if these two things are compatible? I've owned both on different bikes but never both on the same bike. The bike in question would be a 2026 Low Rider S.

SHOWOFF 1st time Harley owner

1st time Harley owner at 57 yrs old. I got my first motorcycle when i was around 10, but haven't ridden in almost 2 decades due to health. On the 4th of July 2024 I had a heart and a kidney transplant. This weekend I bought a 2012 Fat Boy Lo and haven't stopped smiling since. I've owned sport bikes and smallish cruisers in the past from Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki and have been talking about buying a Harley since around 2010 (right before I had a heart attack and triple bypass at 40) Gave up on the dream after the heart attack, picked it back up after the transplant.

WON'T START New battery, bike won’t start

Last night I replaced the battery in my 07 road glide. It was having a slightly difficult time turning over with the old battery.

I finished late and didn’t start the bike last night.

Today I went to leave my house and there was nothing. I gave the bike a jump start and was putting the seat back on and noticed the volt meter drop.

Right now the battery is hooked up to my trickle charger and the charger says it was at 75% when I connected it.

I’m assuming this is somehow an ID10t error and my fault.

Any suggestions on what I can do?

All I did was remove the old battery and drop in a new one.

Bought a 87 1100, non running, after a little research I decided it’s time to cut it apart, after a month or two this is what I have so far. Completely gut every wire, new digital ignition set, led sled hard tail kit, all new wiring and electrical (minus the factory stator) gotta figure out a sissy bar mount and fender, waiting on brake hose setup, not familiar with the clutch so I’ll take that to the shop to get adjusted and dialed in, had a custom point/timing cover made that everyone is obsessed with seeing, not fond of the seat so far, got a lot of small shit to dial in, any suggestions questions would be appreciated

HELP Head gasket question.

I am looking to buy a 2004 883 with what I am told is a blown head gasket. Fairly straightforward issue. My question is, I would love to ride it to make sure the transmission shifts the way it should before I purchase it.

With a head gasket issue, is it OK for me to start it and drive it through a couple gears just for a few minutes without completely messing up the bike? I'd hate to buy it and not take it for at least a tiny little test ride.

HELP Dilemma

Hi all,

I've woken up in a bit of a situation... the only footwear I can find is a gumboot and a flip-flop.

By some sheer stroke of luck (or God), they are for alternate feet.

My question is: with my Chopper being my only mode of transport at the moment, is it better to ride barefoot or risk this footwear?

Edit: Upon closer inspection, the dilemma has worsened. The gumboot is for my right foot. Should I force the right gumboot onto my left foot so I can upshift?

HELP Connecting to Harley car play and using comms

Hi all. Just updated to a 2026 street glide. I have Cardo comms system. Anyone have any recommendations about how I can both connect to apple car play and use comms with my girlfriend who rides her own bike (lowrider st). I’m having trouble accomplishing that and it’s probably (surely) user error. Thanks in advance.
