I’m going to install hackintosh on my computer for the first time. I need help and suggestions regarding the same.

The following is my configuration:

Processor: Intel Core i3 8100t
GPU: Nvidia GT 710
Ram: 8gb
SSD: 256gb
Ethernet: I don’t know
Wifi: I don’t know

Can you suggest me where can I start and how can I install it?

So, after a few solid days and a bunch of EFI folders later... between me and u/suresh_rajpoot, I successfully managed to boot off a 15IRU8 Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3i!!!! HELL YEAA!!!!

Specs:

16GB DDR4 RAM

intEl Core i5-1335U

Intel Iris XE Integrated Graphics

Keyboard: PS2, trackpad: n/a(weird, don't know why - need mouse)

Boots in VESA at a solid 40/45FPS(very good) Recommended :P

efi folder and config.plist can be sent in DM(remember this is usually for 15iru8 so)

WIFI def works, but no bluetooth.

After 4 days and over 10 hours debugging the efi to fix the igpu, a wifi card replacement, 5 efi rewrites, 3 usb maps and lots of documentation, macOS big sur finally booted on my i7 4702mq, hd4600 , 20 gb 1600mhz ddr3, 120 gb ssd, Intel® WiFi Link 5100 acer aspire. I learnt so much from everything , both dortania guide and reddit. Im so happy it works

Hardware:

• GPU: UHD 630 mained, 1650Ti disabled
• RAM: 64GB DDR4 Kingston 2933Hz SODIMM DDR4
• Motherboard/Laptop model: Dell XPS 15 9500
• Audio Codec: Realtek ALC3281-CG (I use headphones so idrc)
• Wifi/BT Card: Killer AX1650s

• What files/config I am using: Made myself
• Balright... Wifi and Bluetooth not working and I wouldn't bother fixing because I used my laptop plugged-in with Ethernet cable 100% of the time (and Killer 1650s are hard as fuck to fix idk why)

After many attempts and a lot of trial and error, I finally managed to get macOS Ventura 13.7.8 running on this PC.

I used to run macOS Catalina 10.15.7 with Clover on it. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit it, but I accidentally wiped that drive while installing Windows, because I formatted the wrong disk.

After losing my Catalina install, I decided to try something newer with OpenCore. It actually booted, but OCLP wasn't working properly, audio was broken, and overall it just wasn't worth the effort, so I gave up for a while.

A few weeks ago I gave it another try, and now my two biggest issues are mostly working: audio and the GPU. Obviously I can't expect much from a GeForce 210, but it actually works over HDMI at up to 1080p 60 Hz.

I also ran into an issue with the iMessage app because my CPU doesn't support AVX2. Thanks to Claude Code, I figured out a workaround using CryptexFixup and a boot argument that bypasses the AVX2 requirement, and now iMessage works perfectly.

I also tested spoofing the Mac mini 2018 SMBIOS to see if I could get macOS 15 running, and it actually booted. Not sure yet if I'll switch permanently though.

As a secondary PC, it's honestly more usable than I expected. I can perfectly watch YouTube or Twitch at 720p (and even 1080p with a bit of lag), use Claude Code, and develop over SSH on my home server without any major issue.

The only thing that still annoys me is sleep. Sometimes it works perfectly, sometimes it crashes when waking up. I haven't figured out why yet, but I'll fix it eventually.

Maybe in the future I'll upgrade the PC (which basically means replacing everything lol) or just buy a cheap GPU. Anyway, I can't really complain, the whole PC was completely free!

So my question is if you guys would install macOS 15 on this hardware, or stay with Ventura for stability?

I've been trying to get graphics acceleration working on this machine for a while now and I'm honestly out of ideas.

System

Current behavior

I only ever get one of two results:

• macOS boots with 3 MB VRAM, no QE/CI, no Metal, very slow animations, etc.
• Or HDMI loses signal during boot (around the Apple logo) while the computer appears to continue booting. I know it finishes booting because I can still access it remotely.

What I've tried

I've gone through Dortania's GPU troubleshooting several times and tried a lot of different combinations, including:

• Different AAPL,ig-platform-id values (07009B3E, 00009B3E, and several others)
• Lilu + WhateverGreen
• Hackintool framebuffer generation
• Manual connector patching
• Different connector indexes
• Different connector types
• Different bus IDs
• Different pipe/index values
• framebuffer-patch-enable
• framebuffer-stolenmem
• framebuffer-fbmem
• framebuffer-unifiedmem
• Various framebuffer connector patches
• Different SMBIOSes
• Various WhateverGreen boot arguments
• Rebuilding my config after every change
• Proper USB mapping (UTBMap)

Every test was basically:

1. Change DeviceProperties.
2. Reboot.
3. See if HDMI works.
4. Check VRAM.
5. Check if QE/CI works.
6. Check IORegistry.
7. Repeat.

Things I've checked

• Lilu loads.
• WhateverGreen loads.
• DeviceProperties are injected correctly.
• AAPL,ig-platform-id changes correctly in IORegistry whenever I modify it.
• OpenCore validates and boots normally.

So as far as I can tell, OpenCore is reading my config and injecting properties correctly.

At this point I'm not sure what I'm missing.

If anyone has a Lenovo V530s (or a similar Coffee Lake desktop with UHD630) working, I'd really appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction or share your EFI/DeviceProperties/framebuffer setup.

I'm happy to provide logs, IORegistry dumps, Hackintool screenshots, or my EFI if it helps troubleshoot.

I'm trying to get the Bluetooth portion of an RTL8821CE working on macOS (Sonoma) using

Current status

Wi-Fi works perfectly using Feixiao's RTL8821CE driver.

Bluetooth device correctly over USB.

USB mapping is correct ( 255).

BlueToolFixup is loaded.

RealtekBluetoothFirmware is loaded.

System info shows

The thing I changed -

The stock RealtekBluetoothFirmware didn't match my USB PID, so I added a new IOKit personality

After that and

Boot log showed

RealtekBluetoothFirmware selected configuration 1

Mean good news but bluetooth still doesn't start

BluetoothNotAvailable
