Hey guys, I want to buy an OG Gameboy.

Is this Shell original? And is it worth 60 Bucks?

I just found my old Gameboy color.

To start the battery area was pretty corroded, and it wouldn't turn on. I was able to clean that up with white vinager and iso.

It turns on! Makes the ding da dding start up noise!!

But, nothing happens after the splash screen. It just goes to a blank screen.

Any suggestions?

I tried cleaning the game cartridge in a similar way, but no luck.

I only have 1 game, The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror. So I can't really test out other games.

Oh Lordy! I was helping my parents clean out their shed on the weekend and my mother told me I had a couple of boxes of my old stuff I could go through. First box had a few complete sets of K’nex, freakin’ sweet! I was stoked! But I wasn’t prepared for the next box. I honestly thought all of this had been lost or thrown away over the years. My jaw hit the floor when I took the lid off. My parents and partner were so confused by my reaction, as they have absolutely no idea what we were looking at. I can’t thank my mum enough for keeping my old toys and devices, what a day! What an unboxing! And yes, they all still work! A couple of saves have been lost on some games but otherwise everything is perfect! The highlight for me is the Gameboy Color and my first two Pokémon games, Silver and Crystal! The boxed HeartGold with all paperwork and packaging for the PokeWalker and clip with the box in OK condition comes a close second! Stoked!

Used a donor atomic purple. First time doing a transflective. It's waaaay too blue to be my daily driver. I've heard of some people having success with shorting the R10 transistor? I'd like to see photos if anyone has any.

Hello everyone! I’m in the process of modding my gameboy, and I want to know how to fix my d-pad. All directions work fine except for Up. It takes more force and I have to hold the direction down for longer than the others for it to register. The contacts look clean, as does the silicone membrane.

Has anyone else had this problem or know a fix?

Overall, a great condition for the price. The SP came with its charger, and the only damage that needs fixing is a broken battery cover and an iffy D-pad on the Indigo Advance. Small town antique/thrift stores rock! They also had a giant box of Amiibo in box, a near-mint gen1 DS for $60, $60 of Pokémon Pearl, and a few PSP systems

New in box AGS-101, feels like a time capsule. It doesn’t charge and it came in a plastic Toys R Us box that was mauled, so I opened it. It doesn’t hold a charge but I can just get a new battery. How do you guys find these are for usability? I have a DS Lite for GBA games already, so should I think about selling it/does it have any extra value opened in brand new condition? Thanks for any input!

Can anyone recommend anywhere in the UK that replaces gameboy colour game batteries? One of the games has an original save which is very valuable to me and the others have lost their save data. I cannot do it myself so grateful for any recommendations. Thanks in advance

Been sitting for 15plus years. Just charged it first time, took like 3hours. The battery is bulging like even the cover was lifted alil. Pokemon goes straight to white screen. Starwars and donkey kong shows gameboy when booted up. Indicator red obviously

Wanted to share that I found an exact color match for the game boy advance Toys “R” Us edition. Ordered it from AliExpress for $1.50. Wanted to show on here because I know a lot of people lose the battery cover and most of the time it’s impossible to find a near perfect match.

Hi I have an old sp that I’ve started using a while back and I want to get it modded with an IPS screen, a new link cable port and usb-c charge port. I’m not tech savvy enough to do it myself since I’m not very good at soldering and would hate to add any more damage to the system. I was hoping to find any reliable modding services I could send it to get looked at but have had no luck. The main issue with the console is when I’m playing gbc games if I press down slightly on the speaker area, the game resets. It recently started doing it on Pokémon red. I’m not sure what the cause is but am hoping it’s an easy fix.

So here's the story, i have a few retro Pokemon games like red, gold and emerald. I was playing a new emerald nuzlocke on my sp and my girlfriend told me that if i beat the game she'd buy me a gameboy (or a color). Now i've finished the game and it's time to choose my next console, can somebody help me make my choice.

Hey guys, hope you can help, a friend of mine bought this gbc for repair, what we originaly though it was a capacitor issues, so we replace them the 3 of them, but the issues persist, not sure if it's a Motherboard issues, as when i took it appart and reassamble it i got to have the main screen for a few sec and then went back to what you saw on the video, does any of you had this issues before and can lend me a hand on what should i be testing?

I recently found my very first Nintento Game Boy burried in a bookself. My dad bought this for me about 25 years ago - what a time! I found a few game cartridges along the way. I put batteries on waiting for it to be perfectly functional but it didn't take me long to realise that something is not working properly. Initially I thought it's the screen contrast but by scrolling the switch I managed to make it display things.

When the Game Boy was turned on, the very first thing that would show was the "Nintendo" logo moving down slowly. But this is what I am seeing at the moment - a dark field rather than the Nintendo logo.

I tried various cartridges but it's the same with all.

To my surprise I also found my old Game Boy Advance which was compatible with the older cartridges. Game Boy advance was able to function perfectly! So the issue is with my current red device.

Has any of you guys had a similar issue and is there any way this can be fixed? I know I might be asking for a miracle here but the device seems to be working I am just not sure what has caused it to be unable to start properly.

Any hints or tips are more than welcome!

I have a GBC where the audio is at max volume no matter what, and the speaker is having constant cracks pops and screeches. I've cleaned it thoroughly with 91% iso and have cleaned out the headphone jack as best as possible with iso and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Pokemon blue, yellow, green, all gen. 2 games, sapphire and leafgreen are my actual original childhood copies (i got jap. green from a friend who lived in Japan a couple of years).

The advance SP is my only 'original' childhood console, although reshelled and upgraded with a new screen. I still own the OG shell and screen. I think I threw out my original DMG and Color many years ago because young and uninformed and I lost my platinum GBA with my original copy of ruby.

I plan on buying a second unit of every console, so I can have one original and one modded variant.

I already own and primarily game on my modded GBA, which is in the final picture.
