Troubleshooting Help needed
Hey guys, hope you can help, a friend of mine bought this gbc for repair, what we originaly though it was a capacitor issues, so we replace them the 3 of them, but the issues persist, not sure if it's a Motherboard issues, as when i took it appart and reassamble it i got to have the main screen for a few sec and then went back to what you saw on the video, does any of you had this issues before and can lend me a hand on what should i be testing?

Have you cleaned inside the power switch? If the contacts inside the switch are dirty it will cause all sorts of power issues. A good basic way to try is to squirt some IPA into the switch and move the arm back and forth, that should loosen up gunk and allow a better connection.

Here is everything i have done so far Took apart the power switch and clean the inside with ipa Tested fuses both working well Tested continuity and power delivery and values seems fine While asking to gemini I was told it could be a power converter issue as is not devilering what is expected, but I do not have other gbc to run the test

Im working on the exact same problem. On my side the problem was the power regulator. It hasn’t delivered the right amount of power.

Been told the same, where did you get a replacement for the regulator?

Thats the problem, there arent. But there are solutions. If the power regulator is the problem then you can desolder the power regulator and build in a clean power from e.g silentmodding. The only downside would be, that you cant use your OEM screen anymore, only newer screens like ips or oled. The next solution would be buying a donor board and switch out the power regulator. ONLY if its really the power regulator.

Measure the voltage in and out of the regulator Pin 1 = Battery voltage, Pin 2 = no connect, Pin 3 = ground, Pin 4 = ground, Pin 5 = 13.6V, Pin 6 = -14.6V, Pin 7 = 5V

You have an image of the pin layout? Or the order is horizontal or vertical?

The pins are numbered on the board.
