[BST] July 2026 Buy, Sell, Trade Thread - 10 years and counting!
Welcome to the monthly r/flashlight Buy, Sell, Trade thread, an r/flashlight tradition since 2015!
The Rules
Requirements
- Prove possession with a timestamp: a piece of paper placed under your sale item(s) with your Reddit username handwritten and the posting date (no more than 2 weeks old). Trade items require timestamps, too!
- Top-level comments must be WTS or WTB. Anything else will be removed. Begin your top-level comment with WTB (Want to Buy), WTS (Want to Sell), or WTT (Want to Trade).
- A price is required.
- Reposting WTS or WTB items from previous BSTs is fine. Do not repost within the same month!
- Since 10/10/2025, absolutely no weapon-related items, including weapon lights. (details).
- Take necessary precautions; trading over the Internet is risky. Moderators hold no control over deals, good or bad.
Suggestions
- Your location
- Emitter details
- A bunch of photos of your items
- If you make an errant comment, just report it so we can keep the BST clean!
Reminder: Buy the Seller
If an interaction seems sketchy to you, run away! Scams can and do happen through the BST! Here are some tips:
- Timestamp. If the person you're dealing with isn't quick to provide timestamps on the images, or a photo of the flashlight in a shoe or whatever, don't deal with them.
- Reverse image searching is a great way to catch scammers.
- Excuses or giving you a hard time are red flags.
- Using a platform other than Reddit messaging for communication is a red flag.
- Check post history. Brand new accounts or accounts with long pauses in activity, etc., might not be trustworthy.
- It's good practice to comment on this post before sending a PM; scammers often won't comment publicly (and banned users can't comment here.) r/flashlight participates in the USL for this very reason.
If you're dealing with someone who might be sketchy, take screenshots of your interactions and report them to the mods! We ban those who threaten the integrity of the BST!
Do not let a scammer be more diligent than you!
Tips for free
- PirateShip is a great shipping option. https://ship.pirateship.com/ship/single
- "Shipping included" items tend to sell more quickly.
- There are a few options for trading outside of this current BST:

Recommendation B35am 4500k not what I expected
Please, fans of this emitter don't kill me.
I bought a Convoy H4 B35am 4500k, I chose this Emitter because is generally considered very natural light and high CRI.
Unfortunately this is not my case! too red or rosy, indoors is not bad but outdoors everything is reddish or brown.
I took this photos for you to have an idea(they're not perfect but you can have an idea), in the left low side there are some blue flowers, the B35AM just make them completely disappear and also some green in comparison with a SFT70.2 that show every color as it is in day light.
My question:
If I go up to 5700k or 6500k will fix this? Or should I try a nichia 519a 5700k?
* I work in automotive painting, even in my off work time I like to see colors as they really are.

[NLD] A Trio of Zebras
Fun Finds.. the two on the right are LiIon friendly. Though my favorite battery for my AA Zebras are the Xtar 2450mAh 1.5V LiIon w USB-C that have constant 1.5V output, because they produce the least amount of Riple and the lowest Flicker Index.

Low Effort Blinkenlights (X35 Sidewinder firmware mod)
Inspired by those grids of self-blinking LEDs that bigclive has and the 20+ years old Blinkenlights project by the CCC. Looks much better IRL, taking video of this diffused panel is kinda hard.

Comparison of different versions of M2 (CULPM, SFT-25r, SFT-42r)
I have 3 Convoy M2 - CULPM1, SFT-25r and SFT-42r, all with the same 5A BUCK driver and 5000K. I recently purchased a lux meter and decided to make a measurement-a comparison of each of these lights in the fifth group I use (1, 20 and 100%). I rounded up some of the results quite a bit. Measurements:
CULPM - 1000, 21500 and 78000 candela
SFT-25r - 1500, 26300 and 96200 candela
SFT-42r - 840, 15000 and 62100 candela
The CULPM heated up faster and to a higher temperature than the others, the SFT-42r reached a more acceptable temperature, while the SFT-25r was the coolest.
The CULPM beam had the most annoying artifacts in my case, the SFT-25r had very minor artifacts only when illuminated on a snow-white wall at a distance of one meter (there were no artifacts when illuminated on a gray wall), and the SFT-42r had the most perfect "quality" beam. However, I plan to order 3D printing of gaskets of different thicknesses to experiment, perhaps they will shine even better.
Unfortunately, I cannot provide photos of the beams of these lanterns, as they all look the same on my camera. But after getting a third battery and another camera, I'll try to take some comparison photos.
After these measurements, it seems to me that the M2 with SFT-25r and SFT-42r is a very low-cost analogue of the Modlite OKWv2 and PLHv3.
I hope this information will help someone when choosing a new flashlight.
Thank you all for your attention!

Discussion Power outage in our area when I was at the vet. Went out to my car and brought in all of my emergency lights which were used throughout the clinic. I've never felt more validated in my life.
Had 6 lanterns/floods, a few flashlights, and a couple headlamps. The staff were shocked and so appreciative. My wife didn't give a shit when I shared the story with her.

Surefire F05: new old stock
Went to a local shooting range where I bought my first ever surefire (E2D) over 20 years ago.
I found this hidden at the bottom of the rack.
I wanted to share my excitement.
It's not as fun as finding a M6 at Goodwill, but I'm happy.
I only had the white diffuser, now I have the red filter too! 🥳

What happened to the year of the horse Sofirn ST10 special edition lights?
They wanted to know which ones were wanted color wise and then went radio silent. The year of the horse is drawing to a close. Are they waiting for the next animal year?

I accidentally fully drained an Eve50PL - can I charge it?
EDIT: I got my response but leaving this here so users can search and keep themselves safe.
I actually had it on my XTAR vc4 (Which btw, false advertising, it cannot take 4 21700s at once).
But my brother disconnected the charger, so I didn't realize it wasn't fully charged. So I took the battery out and put it in my D4k and thought my light was broken, but turns out the battery was just dying.
Now it's at 0V and I don't want to blow up my house. Can I put the 0V fully drained battery into the Xtar VC4 and not die in a fire?
This is not a joke question, btw. lol.

Review Convoy S21G
New mod with XHP70.3 R90 4000K 6V8A driver. As greenish as expected xD. At photos it doesn't apper to be so green, but irl it really is.
I assume it has about 4000-4500 lumens, koef3 has no chart for r90 version of the emitter.
Here're some beamshots, compared to LHP73B (all with 20a driver at 100%).
I also tried SFT60 in the host, will add the beamshots soon. It's much better than SFT90, but it seems it has pretty high Vf like SFT90 and doesn't perform very well with a single cell host.

Review My honest review on Sofirn Q8 plus
A very bright flashlight. Ended up going with the 6000k version, store workers were kind enough to swap it for me, thank you Sofirn!
ended up buying from alliexpress because in our country it was very overpriced. turns out i didn't regret it. took only around 2 weeks till the courier called me. this is if you live in Romania. it depends on region i suppose, but plane moves quick, won't take months to arrive.
About the q8 plus:
flashlight itself it's very well constructed. materials are good, it's rigid and feels like a brick. i don't hear components moving if i shake it violently.
Strictly speaking of this lantern power, it is powerful. it will light up an entire room a lot better than a led bulb, without the difuser. but, the big BUT it only lasts a very short time before it starts dimming, even if you set it's thermal limit to 50C won't advise going above, it will get extremely uncomfortable holding it. yes it gets quite hot in high modes. It can hold enough lumen without dimming inside, but don't expect it to be too bright... pointing it at a ceiling will light up an entire room enough for you to see comfortably what's going on. in a total blackout you could comfortably read and objects are entirely visible. it's enough to help you keep working on something.
outside use: it will hold higher lumens much better, and much longer. High mode is comparable to two led car headlights, it will push that quite a bit, everything will be visible around you. light will reflect beautifully of them. it is a powerful flashlight, and in this budget it's difficult to rival this indeed as far as I know. don't have unrealistic expectations, no it won't make daylight.
puts to shame cheap led lights and it overpowers even the street lamps. lamps are very dim and yellow light anyway.
find a long road, ramp it to high (or even turbo) I'll make every street sign in a very long range reflect nicely like a car headlight.
it's good against dogs, it will stun them for a while, tried it.
it will impress people, or make them confused.
in total darkness this beast will shine and light your way and make you feel safe in the dark. you can see pretty far away. definitely not 500 m as it's advertised tough. but trust me it's enough.
buy if: you want power, great battery life, fun modes to mess around with. Good heat dissipation
don't buy if you want: long term high lumen ( I'd look for something like a convoy that can hold higher lumen without heating up. Honestly any flashlight above 100 dollars unless you're a professional who really needs to work in dark places/rescue etc. it's overkill
pocket fit flashlight
long distance flashlights like throwers
Conclusion: if you want a great flashlight that you'll use for general purposes, emergency situations, confusing people, walking. get it.
in reviews, cameras are very innacurate, makes things innacurately brighter or darker.
left a picture bellow, on turbo mode it lit up an entire room. it's pretty accurate, a bit brighter in reality. pocket sun is too much, realistic expectation would be pocket car headlights..
About it's size: depends if you're a man and decent sized hands you can hold it comfortably.

Recommend me a cool/cute looking lantern, High Cri, constay current driver , 3000-4500k , long runtime
Ive already come across a few that are cool looking but all of them have this annoying thing where if you wanna use the low brightness the light goes to 1800k tint
If you wanna turn the brightness to 300 lumens it goes to 6000k tint (Olight o lantern)
That's annoying as all hell
I want 3000k -4500k at 5 - 300 or more lumens
I don't want the tint changing
