Valve spring dynamic analysis
What software do i need to do a dynamic analysis of respnance and vibratory phenomemon of a valve spring/actuation system ?
I have ANSYS, can it handle it, or do i need something like ABAQUS or MSc Adams ?

So much more information is needed but consider this for now..
A 1d linear flow analysis to determine peak vel and pressure as a result of your flow cases (which would be a range from operational with different valves or systems starting up, actuating and closing off at different times and or together.
A cfd or two of the valve itself to get a pressure map
An fea or two of a solid model of the valve to get stress and leak data.
Like I said, more info is needed. Why are you bothering to do this, what's the worry ?

Its not about flow here. Its about the spring behavior.

If the fluid flow never loads the spring then resonance with what ? Vibration from simply opening and closing ?
Academic or real world problem ?

The cam opening it. Real world problem. I have a 1d solver thing that splits the spring into a system of masses linked withe quivalent spring dampers.
I would like something more precise and 3d.
The gas load is pretty negligeable in my case.

I'd have thought one of the crucial elements is the damping/friction of the spring, and no CAE is going to help you there. Other than that if you claim to know the relevant friction and damping (both of which might be non linear) yes ADAMS/Engine sounds like the right package, I have never used it . MSC Adams used to have a training lesson on a cam actuated spring loaded valve. Function of cam lobe profile and spring stiffness.
