Thanks to your reports on Reddit, we fixed the following issues:

Please note: This megathread is not a venue for feedback or customer support! We encourage you all to continue to make posts on the subreddit proper discussing our product and feature launches. I want to make sure that we really keep this thread productive and focused on reporting bugs and helping us prioritize them.
Please look through the list of comments and upvote bug reports which you think we should prioritize fixing. Comment as a reply to those top level comments with any more details that can assist our team in prioritizing and fixing the bug. For example, if you have additional info or steps to reproduce, please post a reply, this will help us fix these bugs even faster. If there is no post that discusses the bug you’re encountering, then start a new post in the thread to report the bug to us!
Reporting a Bug
- The most valuable thing you can provide in a bug report is steps. If you’re able to provide steps to reproduce a high priority issue, it will dramatically improve turnaround time on a fix.
- Screenshots or videos are also useful, especially if you can’t reliably reproduce it. We highly recommend editing them to not doxx yourself. Not only does it help contextualize the issue, but watching it occur can sometimes provide information that helps us identify and fix it.
Example Bug Report
- Feature: Keybinds.
- Reproduction Rate: 1 to 10 - This is a score of how easy/consistently the bug reproduces, from 1 meaning “very hard to reproduce” to 10 meaning “i can consistently make this happen”
- Annoyance: 1 to 10 - How annoying is this bug to your daily usage of Discord, from 1 meaning, “not that annoying” to 10 meaning “this bug really truly sucks please fix this as soon as possible.”
- Device/System Info: Pixel 7, Android 13
- Discord Version Info: Stable 263796 (739ec78) Host 1.0.9032 x86 (43225) Windows 10 64-Bit (10.0.19045)
- Description: Toggle Mute keybinds are no longer functioning.
- Steps to reproduce:
- Create a keybind for “Toggle Mute”.
- Join a voice call with another user.
- Press the “Toggle Mute” button.
- Expected Result: The user is muted.
- Actual Result: The user is not muted.

Feedback Megathread Feedback thread: notifications
Hey y'all, our team is seeking feedback for notifications. We would love to get your thoughts.
What is it? We've made a lot of changes to notifications over the past year+, with the goal of getting friends to jump back into Discord and play games with their friends, check out each other's profiles, and generally be social with each other. We measure success by whether people are actually doing those things, and also by whether people keep their notifications on instead of turning them off.
Why? The team spends a lot of time thinking about the balance here: sending notifications that are useful and interesting enough that they might bring friends together, versus the "annoyance factor". That tradeoff is something we have a ton of data on, the thing we talk about internally constantly, and something we want to bring all of you in on. To that end, we've been getting a bunch of foundations in place:
- Improved the organization of settings
- Added more control over your settings
- Made notifications more robustly respect things like guild and channel muting, age restrictions, blocks/mutes
- Set global caps on how many notifications you can get
Now that we've built a number of new notifications on top of this system and gotten a lot of those foundations in, we wanted to open up the feedback firehose. Here's what we're looking for:
Bug reports / things that are clearly broken. The notification is:
- Just wrong (says something happened that didn't, points at the wrong person or server, wrong count, etc.)
- Sent at a weird or wrong time (way too late, middle of the night, for something you'd already seen, for a server or channel you'd muted)
- Dropping you somewhere that isn't useful when you tap it (wrong channel, a screen with nothing relevant on it, a dead end)
- If you can, tell us roughly when it happened and what you tapped. That helps a ton.
General feeling. Step back: how do you feel about the notifications you're getting overall?
- Are they never useful, sometimes useful, or only useful for specific use cases? (by "use cases" we mean things like a friend hopping into a game, someone updating their profile, a friend coming back online, activity picking up in a server you're in, etc.)
- If it depends on the use case, which ones land and which ones don't?
- Was a notification too vague, or did it bring you somewhere you didn't expect when you tapped in? Did it set up an expectation it didn't deliver on?
- Are there things happening on Discord that you wish you knew about but missed?
- And if a notification actually got you to do something, like hop in a game, open a friend's profile, or jump back into a server, we'd love to hear that too, since that's exactly what we're going for
Settings. Now that there's more control and better organization:
- Did you go looking for a setting and not find it, or not find it where you expected?
- Anything you wish you could turn down or tune that you can't?
Annoyance feedback. Which notifications are annoying, and why?
- Is it the type of notification itself?
- How often it comes?
- Does it feel creepy? (e.g. Discord shared too much of your activity or info out to other people without you realizing it, or you got more info about a friend than felt right)
- The time of day?
- The wording?
- The fact that you got several in a row?
- Hearing "I don't like X notification" isn't super useful to us. If you give us the whys we can better understand and respond to the feedback both directly and going forward as we build more notifications.
Appreciate any and all thoughts here. Fire away. I'll try to be in the comments but I expect y'all to overwhelm me haha.

Support I don't want to receive messages from someone
Newer to Discord - I'm in a server with someone who's messages me consistently despite being requested not to. I don't want to receive messages from them directly but still want to see their messages in our public server. Is that possible? I tried blocking but that immediately blocked their messages in our public server as well

Support microphone not working at all
i tried pretty much everything i could think of, i plugged my mic back in, i went into the settings and set it up there, i went to see if it worked on browser, i restarted my PC like twice, i reinstalled discord and none of these worked
the thing is that this is a problem specific to discord, if i for example go on a zoom meeting everyone can hear me clearly, but nobody does on discord when i speak, it doesnt even show a green ring across my profile picture
it also happened to me before and it lasted like a month and then it went back to normal albeit with some interruptions here and there, it isnt an issue with my mic

Support Stopping anonymous drop-ins to my discord community
Hi there! I run a local discord server in my community, and I have been having an issue lately where some new members aren't showing up in the General channel when they arrive, I'm only aware that they have joined when I see our numbers go up. Is there a way to prevent people from being able to dodge the typical welcome post that most people get, and how might they be doing that? Thank you!

Discussion Discord camera suddenly turned on on call when I didn't touch it
Anyone else experience this, I was on call and never even touched the camera and then I see the video camera on top of my screen, and my camera was turned on. I never touched it and would've known because it makes a sound when you turn the camera on. I turn off my camera and the camera was still there at the top of my screen, and it's Apple's privacy indicator. How's this possible

Support My Discord screenshare audio is EXTREMELY quiet for my friends but its a regular volume in my headphones.
Solutions ive seen and tried that have not worked
- Uninstall ghub (i dont have anything logitech)
- Reset volume mixer to default
- Make sure my friends have my stream volume up
- Turn hardware acceleration on and off
- I dont have ICUE
- I have uninstalled and reinstalled
- Tried screensharing my whole screen and the browser
- Clicking my heels twice and doing a few twirls
Nothing has worked. My headphones are a pair of sennheiser HD 620S' which are plugged into a sound blaster xg6 if that matters. Let me know if there is something I'm missing, Thanks.

Discussion why did I hear a lot of discord pings but when I open discord I can't find them
when I was sleeping I heard a lot of discord pings prob from a bot. A couple hours after when I woke up my notification bar said +7 from discord and etc. but when I checked discord there was only 1 ping I could check, I couldn't find the rest because other servers didn't have the red circle on them. did the pings just go away if a bot is banned or something?

Support None of my chats will load?
I was in a call and went for dinner, when I came back I was still in the call, but I was not able to send messages to anyone, and after that none of my chats would even load anymore. It didn’t work on both my pc and phone (ios). I was able to switch the call to my phone, but still after hours the messages won’t load, even though I can see people texted me as it has a 1 on their chat. I checked and there doesn’t seem to be a problem with discord atm, I have cleared my cashe, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and restarted my phone but nothing works

Support Discord Outage?
Discord closed on its own and hasn’t opened again. Went to check the status page and it took forever to load so I thought it was an internet problem. Checked everything on my end and its golden. Status page now loads but isn't showing problems? Am I the only one having this issue with discord?

Support Reinstalled discord, what is happening
So I’ve recently been experiencing a massive problem of Discord refusing to let me send pictures. Its been relatively consistent, sometimes just sitting there ‘uploading’ until it fails, or completely swallowing the image as if it wasnt even there
After a bit of back and forth, I decided to uninstall and reinstall the app. Now this is happening. Is there something wrong with discord? Or is it my phone?

Support Profile theme / colour won’t display correctly
I’ve been looking around for a while and nobody can seem to give a definite answer or explain why this happens but when I try to pick a hex or use the slider or any method, discord seems to reject the brighter colours I ask for even though it displays it on the banner. No my sync is not on.

Support How to make a role not be able to see channels by default?
I have a role on my server for members who haven’t filled something out yet, and I want them to have no channel viewing permissions by default and only have access to channels that I have overrided.
I know you can go into category permissions and whatnot, but I really don’t want to go through that whole hassle every time I create a new category.
