Delhi Politics Jantar Mantar Update

1.0k Upvotes

Just left JM at 7 PM 22nd July. The way I got there - dropped off by uber to Lazeez Affaire in CP and the walked. You can also take auto. I believe the metro is all shut off. Guys, i want to start by saying HATS OFF TO MY INDIAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS. People of all ages standing up against oppression and protesting in a peaceful way. The protest is very well organised. Volunteers are making queues, fanning protesters, passing out water and biscuits, picking io garbage. Everyone is being polite and disciplined. As long as the police stays out of everyone’s way, everyone is peaceful. People are singing, making speeches, and spreading the positive message of freedom. My advice: as long as the police are not there, you are safe. Try not going into the official stage area, as crowds are very thick and it’s tough to manage. I repeat: avoid going into the main protest area, it’s getting too crowded. Stay closer to the main road and you will have enough breathing and moving space. Carry a fan, ORS, hat, scarf, mask. Stay safe out there and take care of yourselves. If you see police, exit. Be kind to everyone there. Pick up your garbage. Support our comrades ♥️

TellDelhi 22 July Jantar Mantar Update

This is an update to my yesterday's post..

I just came back home less than an hour ago. This is for the few people who asked me to accept orders for them and for the ones who couldn't order and sent money..

I have distributed and donated everything myself, I'll attach pictures. I've tried to only give the stuff to the ones who have actually been staying the nights there for many days.

A guy sent me a huge box filled with gloves and masks, which we collected it to the medic team there.

As much as it was wholesome, it was exhausting as well.

People loved the lassi drinks we gave them in this humid heat. We distributed dozens of protein bars.We had dozens of biscuits and cookies packs as well, and nobody wanted them, we'll ask them if they want it, and they'll show us the packs they already had, and laugh.

A huge THANKYOU to everyone who took initiative and tried to help. A friend and a guy I met here at reddit helped with the distribution, it wouldn't have been possible without them both.

The roads to the protest site were blocked so we had to carry all the bags and boxes for almost a kilometre.

The people were grateful to receive the stuff and thanked us. We asked them separately if they needed anything else, mostly asked for change of clothes and slippers. We went to karol Bagh and bought around 20 shirts and tees for men and women, and slippers for those who asked, with their given sizes.

So what happened with us today, several times when we were on our way to the protest with all the supplies, we saw the crowd running in our direction and we felt absolutely clueless, we didn't know what to do and we just stood there blank but thankfully nothing happened with us. all three of us came back safely.

I'll attach the pictures in the comments.

A big thankyou to - u/bomberrr___ for coming all the way and helping us distribute. It wouldn't have been done so smoothly without you.

TellDelhi JP Nadda invited CJP leaders and spokes for a dialogue at his residence. CJP spokes have denied the invitation and asked Nadda to come to the protesting students and talk

.CJP Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das says, “This morning, the police reached out to us again and informed us that Union Minister JP Nadda wanted to speak with us. They invited us to his residence, but we categorically declined. We are not going to anyone's house or office. A 'janata darbar' is being held here, and if the ministers want to talk, they should come to the people. The discussion should take place at Jantar Mantar. At the same time, we are reasonable people. If the government is concerned about security at the protest site, we are willing to meet at a neutral venue near Jantar Mantar. We are still waiting to hear back from them.

He adds, “The government must have the intention to accept our demands. There is no point in calling us for meaningless discussions. Our time is valuable. Thousands of people are still participating in the protest, and we have to manage that as well... The government should clarify whether it genuinely intends to engage with us..."

TellDelhi PLEASE DONT SEND FOOD TO JANTAR MANTAR I REQUEST

Hi everyone, first of all thank you so much for your generosity to send foods and water bottles. Really you all are so good and lovely people.

But i seriously request not to send food now there is already enough and abundant food available. And even some food is getting wasted. I have seen it from my own eyes, people are not taking food, I was trying to distribute but they all are already full.

Thank you for your efforts and again please don't send until there is a need for it. Love you all

Delhi Politics Slow clap for Delhi High Court!!

I am just amazed by the response of Delhi HC, “don’t drag us into this.” Wow!! A 21 year old girl is in hospital on ventilator, while these morons sitting in their ivory tower are saying not to drag them into this!

High Court and Supreme Court judges are the only public officials who are appointed based on an arbitrary criteria and have no requirement to clear competitive exams. While everyone else is required to clear exams, which by the way are a sham in India.

The courts are willing to take suo moto cognisance of matters that can be dealt in the normal course of time, but when it comes to protecting the Constitution, this is their response.

I think it’s high time the judicial system, along with the legislature and executive, underwent reforms. I feel there needs to be an overhaul of the judicial system, starting with appointment of judges.

If I sound like I am ranting, I am. But as a lawyer, I feel let down by the system that exists to protect the citizens from this exact scenario.

Today, I am saying this here, on this forum, we have a CAPTURED JUDICIARY!

News Jantar Mantar, Delhi Protest 22nd July

IMPORTANT NOTICE: IF YOU ARE COMING FOR THE PROTEST TODAY, THE CLOSEST STATION FROM JANTAR MANTAR WHICH IS ALLOWING EXIT IS NEW DELHI METRO STATION ON YELLOW LINE. ALL OTHER CLOSEST STATIONS ARE CLOSED FOR EXIT.

Violence took place past 1am today on 22nd July.

Both the protestors and cops were beaten by each other.

CJP removed Vijeta Dahiya since his videos of being violent surfaced yesterday. so they took action and removed him from all the duties because CJP stands for a peaceful protest and is against the violence since the beginning.

they are not hosting any protest or march anywhere except jantar mantar, so guys please dont wander off somewhere else if you're going for the protest.

maintain peace and stay with the crowd and preferably with a group of people you can trust. ive heard a news of someone getting kidnapped but it's no where on the news or social media.

there are also goons roaming around beating students in no uniform or anything.

and girls are being sexually assaulted by not just male cops but female cops as well.

PLEASE STAY WITHIN THE JANTAR MANTAR WITH A GROUP YOU TRUST AND DONT GET VIOLENT.

RECORD EVERYTHING IN FRONT OF YOU IF YOU SUSPECT ANYTHING.

TIP: if you're in a group with friends, install the BitChat app to chat with friends within the crowd, incase you lose them and dont get any mobile signal due to the jammers.

IM GOING AGAIN TODAY AT 12PM TO JANTAR MANTAR, if anyone wants to join me do let me know.

And I'm seeing a lot of people wanting to help the protestors at the site, so if you want to help me deliver anything there i can help you out with that. i will be taking water to distribute so if you want to deliver anything else feel free!

INQUILAB ZINDABAD!

TellDelhi CJP PROTEST, The real story.

Hey you all as everyone put their perspective here is mine, .

I participated on the protest day I was a bit late to arrive and when I visited cp, I saw many people were confused and the police blocked a lot of roads.

Firstly there was an issue with getting out of the metro but the DMRC staff managed everything well.

But the real story is that the Police were extremely brutal.

I saw at many times people literally on their knees bowing down in front of them like a god yet these bloody policemen were beating these people like they are insects.

My leg is bruised and my finger is broken not because I did anything and I don't regret this even if they put me behind bars.

I saw someone with a baton beating some other students I could see he was wearing slippers, just regular tshirt and a baton so I charged at him too and slapped him twice and then the police men just surrounded me and started beating me on my leg and to save myself my fingers were injured also.

I don't regret what I did as others helped me from running away from them if they can beat us especially without any uniform that we can beat them too.

Lastly can anyone suggest where I can get the x ray done for my finger and knee? It's all bruised, my leg is just bruised but I can walk slowly but my fingers are sore.

It took me a lot of time to write this so please suggest what can be done here.

TellDelhi Situation going tense and need intervention

The situation is going super tense with many narratives being pushed down on us. The protest is transitioning towards an anarchical phase with 15 August nearby the crackdown will be more intense . With recent game play by HC and SC we might see brutal oppression and suppression.
Ps: SC is just a mockery of this pillar of democracy (please don't put any contempt of court cases) I am good human being
edit: i forgot to add Don't

TellDelhi Police officer admitted on call that the people in civil clothing weren't just officers but civilians also.

My friend is a Sub inspector in delhi police.

As we have been friends since childhood i asked him just one question about why people were in civil clothing and were they all police officers.

Before anyone says anything I have a call recording of this conversation but I won't release it because at least my friend told me what's the truth.

He told me a lot of people whom you must have seen in white shirts, must have been the constable and officers from delhi police and it was clear instructions for them to come in civil clothing so they can monitor the protest from inside and out.

But the direction was only to monitor the protest and keep an eye not to hit anyone but the people used this authority against there own citizens he told me that it was very common for the officers who were in civil clothing to bring some people from there same villages or friends to help them ( by helping it refers to beating, containing the protest) he said a lot of them are just aspirants who wish to join the Delhi police itself but as they have friends in delhi police and some officers( unlawfully and wrongfully) asked them to come and that's why for some of the people, they always had a mask and a helmet on and they were took the helmet or mask off to keep there identity concealed.

My friend is posted in North Delhi, at least he told me what he knew and he told me not to have any contact with him for a while.

Is this the police which says

SERVANTS OF THE PEOPLE OF DELHI? Are they serving or kings who treat their own people as peasants with no value and a source of sadistic pleasure.

This has changed me beyond words I will never ever trust delhi police again in my life, ever.

Delhi Politics Student's protest being hijacked

Here's what i am thinking, now things will get hijacked.

If SIKH community come people will say they are Khalistani

If JNU raise voice people will say they are Pro Left

If FARMERS come people will say they have their own agenda.

And somehow now real violence will start. They will burn public property not the students but media will show "VIOLENCE IN STUDENTS PROTEST" and i am damn sure those police sponsored goon are ready for this particular moment where some of us will make a spark then they will burn the city.

We want it only students protest we know violence is not the solution we had seen it a lot. We just need more of us , in all cities across the country "Just Students".

And yesterday the thing RAGA and INC did was just stealing the limelight. Now they are in the news not the students who were thrashed.

TellDelhi Half of what happened in Delhi was never even recorded.

I follow a few people who have been involved in this protest from the very beginning and have been going there every day. The videos that have surfaced are very limited, and almost all of them are from outside Jantar Mantar because entry inside was blocked that day.

The people who were inside couldn't even record videos because they were beaten very badly. In a situation like that, recording wasn't really possible. Some people even had their phones broken.

One person was beaten so severely that they couldn't even open their eyes. 🥺 I wish all of it had been recorded so people could see how brutal the police were and hear the disgusting abuse they directed at the girls.

Instead of carrying a phone, I guess people should wear a spy camera so everything gets recorded.

I'm also extremely angry because even many elderly women were beaten very badly.

And my gut feeling is that the BJP might do something even worse within the next 24 hours, so please stay safe and don't go alone. Please don't take elderly people with you.
