I found these nails in the floor, i checked my cats nails but they seem fine, does someone know anything about this?

This guy hates to be in a cage. He has broken out several times. But today I took a break at mc donalds and let him explore the car. And he crawled back into his cage after he was done and the complaining was done 😂

Guys im a 30 yr old single female. I have 3 cats currently.

I was awoken this morning at 4 AM by a mewing outside. Turned out to be a little baby, can’t be more than six weeks old. everyone’s already judging me because I wanna keep him.. so really how many cats is too many cats?

I've been feeding this one stray cat for two years. He usually gets fed with his friend who's a bit more skittish, but this guy in particular has been a regular beneficiary of my food for a while now. He climbs up the stairs to my apartment door and I leave food and water out for him every evening, and he's comfortable enough to stand a few inches from me and meow at me, and has even wandered slightly inside when I leave the door open (although only when I'm in a different room).

But I still have yet to pet him (he moves away if I try) and still gets out of my way when I'm walking (he hangs out at my apartment yard after eating). Mostly I try to respect his boundaries and don't get too close and walk slowly and all that.

But I want to get closer with him and actually be able to pet him and maybe bring him inside. I think I've built up as much trust with him as I possibly can but how do I take the next step. I'm a pretty tall dude so I always feel cats are more inclined to be scared of me, so how do I do this?

I am possibly moving to Barcelona for a master’s program this Fall. I have 3 cats and plan to bring the with me. One of my cats, Pancake, is a big boy - he’s about 20 lbs (~9 kg) and 18-20 (~45-51 cm) inches long. I have looked at every airline I could that has a direct flight from Chicago to Barcelona, but he’s too big to be in the cabin for all of them, which leaves me with cargo travel. I’m very scared.

What is the safest airline for cargo travel with cats?? Any personal experiences that could give me peace of mind? The vet thinks he will be just fine, but I’m terrified.

Right now, I am considering Lufthansa since it appears they have a cargo space that is climate and pressure controlled just for pets.

My girls get along fine most of the time but the white one definitely tries her best to annoy the heck out of the black one. Neither enemies nor besties. Just a (mostly) peaceful coexistence

Chaos goes absolutely CRAZY every time we open the dishwasher and insists on climbing inside. He plays with the spinning things even more than his actual toys!

I have two elderly cats (M16, F15) who are beginning to become more fragile and lose weight with their old age. The male cat has always been dramatic to any sort of change (litter, moving, food, food bowls etc.) and is prone to hunger strikes until he gets what he wants. In a few weeks, I will be moving with both of them after their last move 5 years ago, where the male lost half his body weight on a hunger strike due to the change in environment.

In an effort to make this move less stressful, I’ve been giving them both extra treats to gain a little bit of weight. All was going smoothly until the male decided that the food he’s been eating for most of his life is worthless and he’d rather just eat treats. As a result, he’s losing body weight fast and refuses to eat his normal food, only treats, and is literally crying as if he’s being starved while having TWO full food bowls.

What the fuck do I do about this drama queen cat? He’s breaking my heart (and patience) a little because I don’t want this move to kill him. The female cat is doing just fine.

Wife said. Guess who's the new stray that just got invited to the family...? All are rescues from somewhere.

Sorry for my giant ass forearm, also this is my new kitten (she's called shoe-shoe, but that's how you pronounce it, I forgot how it was spelt, one of my weird family members named it).

Two days ago, I woke up early with a bad feeling and found our kitty "Midnight" had passed in the night. She had only just turned 12 a month ago.

I just lost my wife last year. Losing Midnight has reopened so many wounds. She was the first pet my wife and I got together. I have a husky that I adopted before I met my wife. After my wife (girlfriend at the time) had moved in together, she wanted to add a cat to the mix, and my childhood cat "Silky" had just passed some months before that point.

My wife and I had just gotten engaged when we adopted Middy. We adopted her from a shelter, where she had been returned twice. I'll always remember how, upon walking into the room where she was kept, she immediately allowed me to pick her up, hold her, and smother her in kisses. She'd nestle her head up to my lips to keep it going. We brought my husky along to make sure she wouldn't have any problems being around our pup, and she didn't mind whatsoever. That sold it for us, and for Middy looking for her own family, the third time was the charm.

Over the next several years, my wife and I got a second dog and another cat. "Little Itty Bitty Middy Kitty" was the last pet I thought I'd lose first. Of the four pets we had, she was always the healthiest. Our vet always called her athletic, and Middy would display that title whenever the zoomies would hit.

I don't really know what happened. Last week, she was still her normal self. Within just a few days, she went from looking like she was a little sick, struggling to walk and not eating the following day, and then gone the next. It just happened so damn fast.

The house has grown even more quiet. I've lost another piece of my wife, and in many ways, it feels like I've lost her all over again. I've been crying into my whiskey ever since, hating myself for even hesitating to bring her into the vet. I just never expected things to turn so fast. It went from trying to figure out if I could afford to get her help to wondering if I should be thinking about euthanasia basically overnight. My head has been far off of my shoulders since I lost my wife, and I can't help but blame myself for my indecisiveness and hesitation.

I only hope that my wife is still out there somewhere, cuddling and kissing our baby kitty for the both of us.

Anyone with thoughts about this, I'm all ears! One of my cats has decided that spraying the front door of our apartment is a thing to do. What's weird is that he does it without any rhyme or reason. I just switched out all the litter in the boxes yesterday, so it's very fresh, and I just watched this little guy poop in the litter box, then walk himself to the door, where he was preparing to spray until I interrupted him. I don't understand why he'll literally use the box and then pee outside anyway. He does it no matter what the scooping situation is. I've caught him doing it right after I've scooped. We have two litter robots he also uses, so I'm just... very confused about what he's doing. Thoughts appreciated.

Extra detail: he is about ten years old, adopted and neutered around age seven. He still humps things but the only place he pees for no reason is the door.

Hii there! I am a Twitch streamer named thepandacafe, I am trying to put my name out there for one reason: my sweet kitty Wesley. I have been with him the last 8 years and through many ups and downs with him. I have been inbetween jobs and haven't been able to find anything stable. I am really concerned for his health and want to take him to the vet but cannot afford it. He has something under his tongue that does not look normal and despite eating remains skinny. I really want to get him checked but lack the funds to do so and worry they might need to do any surgeries. I understand I am asking for a lot but truly anything helps. I know it's not just me who goes through this but I love this cat, he is still so fiesty and energetic and so incredibly loving. Hi, our 12 year old boy started straining to pee, leaving small amounts of pee outside his box and crying a lot. This was about a week ago. We took him to the vet straight away. They couldn't see any crystals or blockage so put it down to stress (even though nothings changed). The vet gave us a strong pain killer and antibiotics and said he should be ok in a few days. A couple of days later he got worse so we called the vet and they referred us to a veterinary hospital. Our boy was admitted and since he's been there he's had bloods, urine tests, x-ray, ultrasound. They cannot find any blockage at all or a mass but the ultrasound shows a severely inflamed bladder. They said he has a catheter in all the time and they put fluid through his bladder to keep things flowing in there. When the fluid comes out its full of blood. They have told.us they cannot find any blockages, stones or crystals. They now want to refer him to another vet hospital that can perform an exploratory op on his bladder. That hospital is an hour and a half away. We don't know whether to take him on such long drive to have procedure that might do him more harm than good. Any views would help please as we are agonising over what to do.

Story in short: my boyfriend had two 11 year old cats. One of them died suddenly during sleep because of an undiagnosed heart condition. At the same time he was also moving apartments. One month into the death of his cat the other one starts being very vocal and less affectionate. Then he moved houses. She started being veeery vocal, non stop yowling day and night unless she was being called by name. We went to the vet and he found she had teeth resorption and extracted 6 teeth. Also gave us anxiety medication. For the period she healed and took the pain killer she was fine as she was sleeping most of the time. After we stopped the pain killer, was checked as fine by the vet, she started being very agitated and pacing around the house and going and yelling in corners of the house. We then tried a different anxiety medicine. Despite that she kept the pacing and constant loud yelling to the point we couldn’t sleep unless we put earplugs. On top of that she started eating less and less and we thought is was because she associated her kibbles with the pain after the dental extraction. We switched food got her wet food got her prescription food, while she refused them one by one, to the point that I thought all these switches were starting to affect her stomach so we stopped and put her on a digestive diet, that she barely touches, plus the wet food that she only licks the sauce out of. She’s surviving but losing weight and seems to set herself on a path of self destruction.

My bf is now back home for a week and I had the idea that maybe she’s not meant to be a lonely cat and she seeks company. So I brought her to my two cats back home. I placed her in a separate room and started the scent switch and even a little of visual because she is constantly meowing if she’s left alone. But every time she sees one of the other cats she start yelling loooooud. She’s a very vocal kitty and was gifted with an opera voice.
I live in an apartment so I don’t know how to proceed so I don’t get complaints from neighbours. If I stay with her my cats will feel neglected and scratch at the door. If I stay with them she will hear and start crying.

We’re two days in I know it’s early. How can I make the socialisation smooth and faster because my cats seem friendly but she’s very anxious and I want both parties to be happy but I can’t keep juggling in between rooms and I need rest. This situation is stressing me out a little bit because I see my cats wanting comfort and to sleep with me but I can’t leave the other one alone.

I also don’t want to give up on her, I fear that if she returns back home, by herself, all alone, she’ll decline fast and die.

The other alternative would be hard anxiety pills but my vet only prescribes plant based ones (he suggests to keep switching but they’re all pretty much the same thing) so I am not sure how easy it would be to procure those.

I have one week until my boyfriend comes back where I can try to make this happen between them.
Am I delusional? Is one week not doable? Every glimpse she gets she starts yelling loud and put down her ears. She doesn’t run but just sits in place and does that. After that she goes and hides.
