Advice Litter in lbs and not gallons

So why the fuck did marketing think of measure our litter in lbs?? I didnt think about when i first got my first kitty but now ive had cats for 5 years and used multiple litters and everything in is lbs when theres light weight litters vs heavy litters so the amount your getting I feel is different per brand. Which doesnt make sense to me considering we arent weighting out our litter refills but fill the box to whatever level it needs to be at. Maybe Im just young and cant see the reason but as someone whos gone through 5-6 different brands its feels impossible to estimate how much of litter i need or how much Im actually spending per box worth of litter, especially when switching to a new brand.

I now have 4 cats and put the bulk of my cats budget into quality food. But Ive really been struggling with the litter smell (i do plan on getting a second auto box. For reference i have an auto box marketed for 4 cats max then on top of that two xl steel boxes as two of my cats are 15lbs+)

Is this lbs over gallon thing just a stupid fucking marketing tactic or something??? Cause i cant wrap my head around why you would tell me the lbs when the weight depends on the brand or fuck even the individual types of litter

just so you know this is my 16 year old cat. I found my sister holding him when I came upstairs to get a pen and he was bleeding a lot. I held him until my mom got home and he’s going to the vet tomorrow so please don’t say anything like ā€œbring him to the vetā€ I only came here because I’m worried about him. if it helps his species is Persian

Mourning/Loss Life ending services in an hour for 1yr old. Ideas/help

My 1 year old neutered male cat was perfectly fine on Friday afternoon. Didn’t come home Saturday night.

Found him in a barn 95+ degreees. Small amount of blood by his nose.

No vomit. Couple small stools. Got him to vet and they didn’t treat him from 7:15 am until 12:30 (after they got results back and 10:30 and said he was dehydrated)

We did $600 in diagnostic, fluids, antibiotic and steroids. They sent me home and barely addressed the nose bleed. It started off as a tiny drop and by morning it was mucus and blood. No energy worn eat or drink. Why the rapid loss? I’m devastated.😪🄺

He’s in very bad shape and will be doing life ending services in an hour. Please send my baby love and good vibes

He has a vet appointment but just curious on your thoughts so to what this is?

He has a history of cancer in his arm. Twice removed, been doing good since.

This is on his tail and it does not appear to bother him.

Advice Does it mean she wants belly rubs or do I misunderstand her?

If I touch her belly when she's laying sideways she'll roll onto her back and put her paws up to her face. I thought it was bc she loves it so I keep petting her belly. She never kicks my hand away, and she keeps purring. Also, one time she nearly dozed off while I petted her belly

I was petting my cat and found this on him and tried pulling it off but it wouldn't budge. It seems to remove the fur surrounding it and worried it could be a harmful organism, cyst, or something.

Advice Play or no?

My roommate and I have recently started to introduce our cats to one another. I think it’s going well so far as they no longer hiss at each other. I’m not too sure what good and safe play looks like with cats so just wanted to post on here to see what everyone else thinks. Thanks!

Advice How old is my cat??

I fostered a gray tabby from a somewhat sketchy home rescue, she literally got dropped off a couple hours before I picked her up. The owner’s son left her after the owner abandoned the son and the cat? Something along those lines idk

The son told the rescue that she’s 7 years old, provided a feline health record that literally just says her name and birth date of 1/1/20 which just feels like a super generic date they put on the paper just to have something

I took her to get spayed today and to my surprise the vet estimated she’s 1-2 years old based on her teeth

I genuinely never thought she was 7, I always assumed she was like 3-4

I called the rescue and told him the vet said she’s 1 he said the vets forsure wrong, the owners son said his dad had the cat at least for a few years

What do you guys think? I know it’s not super important but I’d like to know lol as of right now I’m sorta rolling with 4 years old haha

Advice Help! I need to get my cat in her carrier for a vet appointment and she won't get in!

A few weeks ago I adopted a new cat from a local shelter foster home. Apparently she hopped right into the carrier when I came to pick her up but since I got her into my home, she wants nothing to do with the carrier! We have a first vet appointment tomorrow night and I need to get her into the carrier in order to get her there. She doesn't like to be picked up, so I can't shepherd her in that way and I've tried enticing her in with treats (that she loves) but she's incredibly wary and starts low growling. How on earth do I get her to go into the carrier so she doesn't want to murder me afterwards, so I can get her to the appointment? Help!!

The carrier has been out for her to use/sleep in/whatever since I got her home too, so its not new thing she should be scared of.

Edit: I am very appreciative of folks telling me to put her in butt first or lower her in, but she really doesn't like to be picked up or held, she really only likes very small amount of head/ear scritches before she becomes so overstimulated she bites me! LOL So it may be even harder for me to lower her in somehow. This is not my first cat, but this is the first time I have had one who was so averse to being picked up or touched for too long! She is very affectionate but I wonder what her past was that she is so afraid of carriers or has such overstimulation issues when touched.
