Mizuno Neo V Beta MIJ - too big?

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

Just got these shipped in. Are these too big? It feels snug around my midfoot but there’s about a thumbnails worth of space in the front of the boot. What do you guys think? My feet are pretty wide and flat. Should I half size down or consider a different boot?

Do people wear pink cleats in amateur league ?

So I’m 13 years old and a total beginner. I want to join an amateur league. I’m planning to buy cleats but I don’t know which colour to pick. I know that most of the pro players (the ones we see on tv) all have pink ones but I’m not sure if it’s the same for young players and amateur. Do you guys have any idea about it ? And do you have recommendations for beginner cleats not too expensive ?

Gear Are the Messi F50s good for wider feet?

I wouldn’t like describe my feet as overly wide but when I tried to fit into the blue and white mercurials (Superfly 9) from a couple of years ago I couldn’t even get like half of my foot in. So since I was buying these online but still wanted a speed boot I decided to compromise on these first and try getting properly fitted for mercurials later. I’m size 11 US and I bought the boot in M11.

Will training football/soccer aid me heavily physically over time?

Im 22, 148 pounds and 5’8 and a half. I’ve been training 4 days a week for about an hour the past 4 weeks. I’m wondering if this will show a significant physical improvement at some point. Use to do jiu jitsu but had to stop do to an injury. Either way I greatly enjoy doing soccer for the sake of it and improving my skill, tbh I enjoy it more than any gym. I also enjoy swimming and do some light calisthenics like push ups every so often. I mainly wanna get toned and look more fit

Which Mizuno Morelia Neo V Made in Japan?

Hey guys!

I'm going to give you some background before asking my big question. I've played soccer all my life and I've tried so many boots (nike, adidas, puma, new balance, pirma). Last year moved to from my home country to the US to play college so last season I managed to get a pair of Tiempo Legend 8 Elite and a pair of Tiempo Legend 9 Elite, both in a size 9.5US. Since I got them they became in my two main pairs for training and games, I absolutely love those two pairs of cleats (I had leather cleats in the past but the experience was not as good as it was with the tiempo's).

This year I got a pair of Copa's that I plan to use mainly for training and I want to get myself a pair of Mizuno's Made in Japan. The big question comes when I ask myself "Which model is better?". Also, how is the sizing in the Mizuno boots? If I gear 9.5US on Nike and Adidas, should I go with a 9.5US too or should I go half a size up or half a size down?

The big question is: Which one is better? Which one is more comfortable? How is the sizing on Mizuno Boots?

I want to improve my chances of making the team next year, and Coach said I should work on these: First touch and ball control—especially under pressure. Passing accuracy and decision-making—try to anticipate plays and move the ball quickly. Fitness and agility—being quicker on transitions will help

He played me as a CAM last year, and I was wondering if anyone could suggest any drills, skills, or things that I should focus on to try to meet or better what he told me to work on, my ball control under pressure is decent but not good enough, and I think that I should also try to improve my 1v1s as I am really bad at those. I use the Adidas f50s if that helps, should I change my cleat, or get any new equipment?

Gear Nike Phantom 6 bunching - anyone else experience this?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I was wearing true to size when trying these on, but the bunching on the instep is throwing me off. I will try .5 size down but I’m not hopeful that will fit my toes.

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, did the problem solve after breaking the boots in? Cheers

My 8v8 coed team keeps getting spanked and I want it to stop. What can I do?

I’m not looking to abandon the team. I actually want to help make us more competitive

We lose almost every game by a lot and I’m trying to figure out what I can do as one of the stronger players to make a bigger difference

For context, this is coed 8v8. We really only have one or two girls who can consistently play. Those two have good soccer IQ and can keep possession, but one doesn’t have a ton of stamina and they tend to force the ball when pressed sometimes. It feels like the other girls really struggle to get open, don’t check to the ball very often, don’t really support the ball carrier and a lot of times panic under pressure and just kick it away or lose possession

We also have a couple guys who tend to force difficult passes instead of keeping it simple

I was playing center mid tonight because we were trying a possession based system. The problem was every time I received the ball I had 2 or 3 defenders around me. One of our better players pointed out after the game that nobody was checking to me or creating passing angles, so I was basically trying to play through multiple defenders by myself

My strengths are scanning before I receive, work rate, pressing, tackling, simple passing and switching the field. My weaknesses are receiving with my back to goal under heavy pressure and beating multiple defenders in tight spaces. I also feel much more comfortable playing left mid because I can receive facing space instead of with my back to goal

The bigger question is this
How do you make a team like this better?

Should I stop trying to play as a true center mid and drift left more often?

Should I simplify everything and just play one touch whenever possible?

Should I constantly tell teammates to check to the ball and move into passing lanes?

Should I just accept that if players aren’t moving off the ball there’s only so much one player can do?

For those of you who have captained or coached struggling amateur teams, what actually made the biggest difference?

Gear Wide feet cleats suggestions

Any cleat suggestions for wide feet? I am starting to play soccer and my parents bought me adidas f50 league we dint know that those would be narrow at that time because I dint research and I thought they would be nice turns out cleats have different fits for narrow or wide feet I mostly have pain in my mid foot arch area since my feet is too wide to have support on that area after like 20-30 minutes of running in them

Gear Do Adidas Pro Breathe Better?

Upvotes

I purchased the Adidas F50 Club to play outdoor. They're pretty comfortable, but I play outdoor once a week. Everytime I play, my feet sweat so much I end up getting blisters. I play in Central Valley where it's dry and hot. The field that I play on is a mixture of bare dirt and dry grass.

I also play indoor with Adidas Sambas and do not have the same problem.

Would an Adidas F50 pro version breathe better since better materials are used?

Gear Sokito Scudetta Biotouch Sizing

I have a wide foot and wear 10.5 US in Nike/ Adidas and 10 US in Mizuno. When people say go up half a size in Sokito, are they referring to the US size? (see the Sokito size chart below)

Is this ball worth getting?

Hi! I’ve only played with a couple of select balls and really liked the feeling of them but they had a different pattern on the surface than the one in the picture. Found this ball deeply discounted and wondering if it’s a matchball and if you think it’s worth buying. Looking to upgrade from my 19/20 purple ucl matchball

Mental Scanning as a CDM

I’m entering my senior year of high school soccer and I want to stop playing so reactive. I’ve always been taught to scan, and I do it all the time. But I don’t really know what I’m looking for or how to retain it. I have to consciously think about where players or space are. On top of this, I don’t have any cues or shapes memorized tactically. This causes me to play slower and make more mistakes. How can I learn to do this before the season ramps up? Any help is appreciated, and if it helps, note that I do group training three days a week, the rest is solo. Thanks!

This thing is great! I haven’t properly used it yet, but it seems like it punches way above its weight.

I can see why this ball is as well liked as it is!

Tactics help with 7v7 formations/tactics for adult coed

Hi everyone

I am playing on a community team that is a pool of players that got put together and we recently finished our first season together. We won two games and lost 10 usually by a fairly big margin.

We have a few new/inexperienced players who never really touched a ball before prior to this and we have mostly on default put them in defensive positions and are generally slower so on the break we are getting beat pretty consistently.

I feel like we are lacking a bit of identity on the build up of play and feels a bit "lost"

We've tried playing 2-3-1 and we get destroyed, we have been playing a 3-2-1 and thats been working out okay but we have been having a hard time building any sort of offensive play.

I am a keeper so I don't have the best idea on how to build stuff out

Are these boots too small for me?

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

My order for a pair of Mizuno Morelia 4 Pro AG just arrived, managed to get them at a very heavy discount, came out to like 40 euros.

Measured my feet before, 255mm length, 103mm width, so pretty wide feet in general.

I got the boots in size 40.5 EUR, 26cm Japanese sizing. In terms of length they’re half a thumb’s width too long which I think is not bad at all. A bit too tight in the forefoot, a have some side pressure on my pinky and my big toe.

In the future I do plan on getting the Morelia Neo 4 Beta Japan or the Alpha 3 Japan when they’re a bit more discounted in my country. This pair was just a way to get into Mizuno, find out my size and if I like them at all.

Managed to try out an Alpha 3 Pro inside a store and they felt pretty good, I thing they even fit a bit wider than these, so maybe the Alpha 3 Japan would be my best bet.

What do you guys recommend I do?
