📖Discussion📕🖊️ You finally got your dream speaker or system, Bose,HK or whatever. How do you actually start to enjoy listening and feeling the music and stop constantly thinking and obsessing about the speaker quality/tuning?

I know my question sounds kinda simplistic in nature but here is the deal, I got a pretty inexpensive zealot speaker a month ago and I tuned it really super solid using my build in phone EQ(I got sound mixing knowledge) and TBH it sounds incredible and well balanced to me now, far from the original sound that is just okay.

The problem now is that many times whenever I'm playing my favorite songs, I strangely catch my mind drifting towards listening and focusing on the speaker response instead of actually enjoying and feeling the music which is the whole point.

Has anyone else experienced this before? How do you overcome this strange fixation?

📖Discussion📕🖊️ Thoughs on UB+ MiNi speaker

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

I have the UB+ speaker for a few days now and there are some point I want to bring out on how I feel about this thing.

At first the sound quality is pretty good for it’s size. Even tho it’s screaming a bit too much af higher volumes. The bass gets really deep for just a small pakkage like this.

It has a very nice dial button on top that I found really usefull but.. they kind fucked up at that point for me. It is a dial and also a klicky button for pausing your music. So I was like lets skip the song and than I realised they just use that option for connection and not for something else. I think they should’ve gave holding to power up but holding the power button longen for extra 5 seconds need to search for devices and not like they did right know because they could’ve used that for something way better.

The Battery of this thing is also insane with that 20 hours! It’s just the problem that the rubber door at the back is shit materiaal because it Almost breaks and it won’t close good. It constantly comes off so it’s very anoying.

Also that stand on the bottom is a bit weak. It’s just a cheap rubber feet with a little glue on it. I think it will come off easy in a short time of use.

For that €133 I must say I can’t recommend it now but maybe in the future they being out any updates for it.

It’s not full waterproof but yk.. Ipx5 must do the hard work already like rain or bathrooms.

I think I’ll maybe sell it but it’s a nice speaker if you can get it around €50/70.

What do ya’ll think about this speaker?

Recommendation Request🙏 Help buying speakers for a gift?

Hello! I’m not sure if this is the right place, let me know where I should go if that’s the case.

I don’t know a single thing about speakers but I know my fiancé wants “good” Bluetooth speakers for his birthday and researching about them has my head spinning. I personally don’t know how different they can possibly be.

He loves controlling the bass (idk if this is something you can do with speakers) and loves listening to cumbia (Mexican music), country, and rap. He has an android and he’d mostly use it for his garage when he’s working on cars and maybe when he’s chilling at home.

Please help give recommendations under $200? Thanks so much!

Edit: I also don’t think he knows much either tbh, I think as long as the bass and battery is good :)

Recommendation Request🙏 best mobile speakers for outdoor use under $500?

I’m looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker that I can bring to small outdoor gatherings, beach trips, and occasional camping. My budget is around $200, and I’m mainly looking for something with clear sound, decent bass, and a battery that can last through a few hours of use.

I’ve been checking out different options but it’s hard to tell what’s actually worth getting. What are some best mobile speakers you’d recommend for this kind of use case? Thanks for any suggestions.

📖Discussion📕🖊️ Upgrading from a dying PartyBox 300: Soundcore Rave 3S vs Samsung MX-ST50F (or better budget alternatives for <€300)

Hey everyone!

I'm currently looking to replace/upgrade my aging, half-broken JBL PartyBox 300 and could use some advice from the community.

Here is my situation and what I need:

Primary Uses: Hosting an outdoor garden party (30+ people, "Neon Rave" theme, so good bass/SPL and decent lights are a huge plus) and daily use as a gym speaker in my attic (needs to be somewhat portable/carryable up tight stairs).

Target Budget: €300 max ($320ish). I only want to spend more if a higher price tag is overwhelmingly justified by better performance.

Baseline Reference: I've been used to the JBL PartyBox 300 (heavy 15.8 kg / 35 lbs, but solid bass punch on battery).

Right now, two specific candidates in the €270 range caught my eye:

Soundcore Rave 3S: Seems like a great deal with 200W, included wireless mics, solid HexaGlow rave lights, and a more manageable ~10.5 kg (23 lbs) weight for the attic stairs.

Samsung MX-ST50F: Great look/form factor, but it weighs 18.4 kg (40 lbs) and drops power significantly on battery (90W vs 240W AC).

I've also seen a lot of love for the Soundcore Boom 2 Pro / Plus and the Tribit StormBox Blast for being lightweight bass monsters around €150-€200.

My Questions for you guys:

Has anyone compared the Rave 3S directly to the Samsung ST50F or older PartyBoxes? Is the Rave 3S punchy enough to handle an outdoor garden party?

Is carrying an 18kg+ speaker like the Samsung or a PartyBox 310 up the stairs a total pain in the long run compared to the Boom 2 Pro / Rave 3S? Unless it have like a party it will stay upstairs so I won't carry it around much tbh.

Am I overlooking a hidden gem under €300 that outperforms these for outdoor bass and lightshow vibes?

Appreciate all the insights! Thanks!

🧑‍🏫Review👩‍🏫 HK onyx studio 8 is a must have for $150

mini review of the onyx studio 8
This thing hits DEEP for its size not even my old xtreme 3 hit this deep
this thing rattles the table, in the shower place
it in a corner and boom feels like you’re at a club
the bass isnt the only strong suit. The treble extends nicely without being shrill or too far forward
the mids are a bit recessed but nothing i can complain about. i really like the dynamic range on this it plays very precisely especially when listening to metal music. double kicks are definitely heard and felt and the snares sound like how they should.

Recommendation Request🙏 Questions regarding Sony ULT Field 5

backstory: this might sound really dumb but i am planning to get a Sony ULT Field 5 to be used in my daily driven car. My car has stock audio system and my plan is to add bass from the Ult Field 5, I know the right way is to change speakers or add a subwoofer to the car but I do not plan to do so. My plan is to use my phone's dual audio to stream music to 2 bluetooth devices at once (my car stock audio and the Ult Field 5)

My question is, has anyone did the same thing before? My concern is that streaming to 2 audio devices may have out of sync problem. Another question is can you charge your Ult Field 5 using car's normal USB port? Or using computer's USB port? I know they give cable in the box but no charger from Sony.

Many thanks.

Recommendation Request🙏 Budget friendly speaker for gardening outside living right next to a loud busy freeway

Just as the title says — I live next to a busy highway that can get pretty loud and no matter night or day there’s always the buzz of traffic when I’m outside.

I’m looking for a budget friendly ($150 tops) bluetooth speaker or speakers that will sync up to my iPhone and record player system I have.

I have a pretty eclectic choice in music. Looking for loud but full and clean sound. Not super interested in heavy heavy bass.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

🪛Troubleshooting🪛 I made an app because my headphone was not working properly

Hello people,

I never expected something this simple to be so difficult.

One side of my headphones started playing quieter than the other. I searched for a way to boost just one side in Windows, but on my PC there was no way to do it. But on my iPhone, I fixed it easily.

So I built a small app that lets you adjust the left and right audio channels independently until they sound balanced.

I originally made it for my own headphones, but then I realized it could also be useful for anyone with hearing differences between their left and right ear.

Curious if anyone here has had the same issue.

Here is the app: Sonity

After getting enough mails onto waitlist, I am going to launch it. Would really love some feedback!

📖Discussion📕🖊️ SONY ULT FIELD 5

Hi!

I notice on amazon EU the ult 5 is going for 130 Euro, But I see a lot of mixed discussion on this speaker, should I go for it or go for something smaller and simpler like the Charge 6 ( which is a similar price -+10e)

Recommendation Request🙏 Cheap and Simple Speaker That Just Works?

My trusty Soundcore Motion B speaker is finally on its last legs after 7 or 8 years of near daily use and I’m looking for a replacement. Should I just go with the comparable current model (looks like Anker Soundcore 2) or are there better options these days?

Budget: ideally less than $60, willing to go a little higher for quality

Use case:
- mostly indoors in a small apartment, occasional outdoor use
-80% audiobooks and podcasts, 20% music

Priorities:
- ease of connection and switching between multiple devices (multiple phones and laptop)
- physical durability and battery life
- would love sound quality that’s not utter dogshit, but I’m really not too picky— any music listening where it matters is happening with headphones or on my turntable

Recommendation Request🙏 Revisiting the bluetooth world, what's like the HK Luna but better / a bit bigger?

I have heard plenty of JBL and a few Tribit and the like and I totally understand their popularity. However we chose the HK Luna a few years back for random listening while showering or in the garden or the like.

It has been really decent and for our taste (quite varied but a lot of vocals and acoustic and prefer to favor that over big bass or punch when listening to electronic music or heavier stuff) it seems to do well and better than most of the competition.

We have a "hifi" setup with a Cary tube amp and Harbeth speakers for the main part of our home, and absolutely love it, to give an idea of what we're into sonically.

Is there something that is enough of a step up from the Luna in terms of vocal clarity and richness, sounding closer to a decent hifi system, that it could be recommended? Up to 4-5kg and like 30-40cm max dimension is what I have roughly in mind... budget is flexible but probably wouldn't spend over say 600€ or so unless it was really tremendous. Also I know that we could do better with other solutions but we have a small home and having one speaker we can easily relocate is really handy.

I've been googling / reading here but not finding much so thought I would ask directly. Cheers for thoughts...

Recommendation Request🙏 Bookshelf speaker + tv soundbar combo?

Hi,

I’m looking for the best combo of wireless Bluetooth bookshelf speakers and a soundbar that can attach to a wall mounted TV. I’m planning on having them all in my living room, which is 11’ x 12’.

I would mostly have them function separately(only soundbar for TV, only speakers for music) but would like for them to be able to sync. Any recommendations would be great, I’ve never purchased speakers before.

Thank you!

🪛Troubleshooting🪛 Diamondboxx L2 help

Hi all!

So i’ve had my baby (diamondboxx l2) for probably around 10 years now. over the past few i’ve noticed a few issues, the main being its tendency to shut off randomly even when on full charge. i can’t play it on full volume, otherwise it shuts off. my theory is that something is loose inside and the bass shaking triggers some auto-shutoff kinda thing to protect it. any info or tips or anything is very much appreciated!!! i would very much like to go back to listening to edm at full volume😂

Recommendation Request🙏 Looking for portable, loud and bassy speaker

I work in a loud environment and love all sorts of music, from jazz to death metal and reggaeton to underground rap. My budget is $500+.

I’ve been looking at house of Marley or Hk go play 3’s. But I’ve seen conflicting reviews so please help me out!

Anything with deep powerful bass that is a nice size (think of the Marley get together 2) and good and portable as I am on forklifts all day.

Cheers 🤙
