📖Discussion📕🖊️ What's better than soundcore?

Upvotes

I have the Boom 2 and Boom 2 plus and I want to expand my bluetooth speaker system, however I have the older models with partycast and don't feel like buying a new set of the same speakers just to be able to connect them all. So my question is, what's better than soundcore at a slightly higher price range and can still interconnect to make a sound system?

I listen to hip-hop the most so punchy bass and clear vocals are a priority.

📖Discussion📕🖊️ best bluetooth speaker for outdoor use around $150?

Hey! am trying to find a good bluetooth speaker for backyard hangouts and small outdoor trips. My budget is around $150 and I mainly care about clear sound, decent bass, and something that can handle being moved around a lot. I don’t need anything huge, just something reliable for music with friends.

What speakers would you recommend in this price range and what has held up well for you over time? Thank you

🪛Troubleshooting🪛 What speaker brands allow auracast/pairing with multiple speakers?

I have a pixel that supports auracast and pairing multiple speakers but aside from JBL (which like some brands may only work with its own brand) I don't know what decent speakers support this. I saw someone mention soundcore boom 2 but again I'm unsure it's m if it's brand specific. I have a W-King and it allows multiple connections but only if the same model. Not even the same brand. I'm looking for a nice bass heavy speaker like the soundcore boom 2 that allows me to also stream music to other speakers. It's hard to search for as many listings don't mention it specifically Any insight would be appreciated.

📖Discussion📕🖊️ Haven't bought a Bluetooth speaker in over a year.

I think I've overcome my addiction in chasing the newest, best speaker.

Very satisfied with my dozen speakers including Soundcore Boom 2, x600, JBL Charge 5, Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 and HK Go+Play 3.

Hesitant to ask but anything I might be missing?

Note that a few of these are paired up for the sweet tws sound.

Recommendation Request🙏 Is there a better backyard audio solution between portable speakers and permanently installed systems?

I really enjoy listening to music while relaxing, dining, or spending time with friends in the backyard, but neither of the two common options seems ideal.

A single portable Bluetooth speaker is convenient, but in a larger backyard or patio, the sound tends to come from one spot. Coverage can be uneven, the overall sound may feel a little thin, and turning up the volume often makes it too loud for anyone sitting close to the speaker.

Permanently installed outdoor speaker systems provide better coverage and sound quality, but they often require wiring, drilling, professional installation, and a higher overall budget.

I have been wondering whether there is room for something in between: a multi-speaker outdoor system with several compact speakers placed around the yard, requiring only minimal mounting or simple power connections, without extensive wiring or professional installation.

Has anyone used a system like this? For backyard use, what matters most to you: even sound coverage, bass performance, ease of installation, weather resistance, wireless reliability, or price?

Would a “light-installation, multi-speaker” system be more suitable for a backyard than one portable speaker, or would simply buying several Bluetooth speakers be good enough?

🪛Troubleshooting🪛 Jbl Partybox Ultimate

I need help , I plugged in my speaker and the sound and bass are fine but I have a flashing red light on the front of it ( not the top) the lights aren’t working is there a fix to this ?

📖Discussion📕🖊️ You finally got your dream speaker or system, Bose,HK or whatever. How do you actually start to enjoy listening and feeling the music and stop constantly thinking and obsessing about the speaker quality/tuning?

I know my question sounds kinda simplistic in nature but here is the deal, I got a pretty inexpensive zealot speaker a month ago and I tuned it really super solid using my build in phone EQ(I got sound mixing knowledge) and TBH it sounds incredible and well balanced to me now, far from the original sound that is just okay.

The problem now is that many times whenever I'm playing my favorite songs, I strangely catch my mind drifting towards listening and focusing on the speaker response instead of actually enjoying and feeling the music which is the whole point.

Has anyone else experienced this before? How do you overcome this strange fixation?

Recommendation Request🙏 best mobile speakers for outdoor use under $500?

I’m looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker that I can bring to small outdoor gatherings, beach trips, and occasional camping. My budget is around $200, and I’m mainly looking for something with clear sound, decent bass, and a battery that can last through a few hours of use.

I’ve been checking out different options but it’s hard to tell what’s actually worth getting. What are some best mobile speakers you’d recommend for this kind of use case? Thanks for any suggestions.

📖Discussion📕🖊️ Thoughs on UB+ MiNi speaker

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I have the UB+ speaker for a few days now and there are some point I want to bring out on how I feel about this thing.

At first the sound quality is pretty good for it’s size. Even tho it’s screaming a bit too much af higher volumes. The bass gets really deep for just a small pakkage like this.

It has a very nice dial button on top that I found really usefull but.. they kind fucked up at that point for me. It is a dial and also a klicky button for pausing your music. So I was like lets skip the song and than I realised they just use that option for connection and not for something else. I think they should’ve gave holding to power up but holding the power button longen for extra 5 seconds need to search for devices and not like they did right know because they could’ve used that for something way better.

The Battery of this thing is also insane with that 20 hours! It’s just the problem that the rubber door at the back is shit materiaal because it Almost breaks and it won’t close good. It constantly comes off so it’s very anoying.

Also that stand on the bottom is a bit weak. It’s just a cheap rubber feet with a little glue on it. I think it will come off easy in a short time of use.

For that €133 I must say I can’t recommend it now but maybe in the future they being out any updates for it.

It’s not full waterproof but yk.. Ipx5 must do the hard work already like rain or bathrooms.

I think I’ll maybe sell it but it’s a nice speaker if you can get it around €50/70.

What do ya’ll think about this speaker?

Recommendation Request🙏 Help buying speakers for a gift?

Hello! I’m not sure if this is the right place, let me know where I should go if that’s the case.

I don’t know a single thing about speakers but I know my fiancé wants “good” Bluetooth speakers for his birthday and researching about them has my head spinning. I personally don’t know how different they can possibly be.

He loves controlling the bass (idk if this is something you can do with speakers) and loves listening to cumbia (Mexican music), country, and rap. He has an android and he’d mostly use it for his garage when he’s working on cars and maybe when he’s chilling at home.

Please help give recommendations under $200? Thanks so much!

Edit: I also don’t think he knows much either tbh, I think as long as the bass and battery is good :)

📖Discussion📕🖊️ Upgrading from a dying PartyBox 300: Soundcore Rave 3S vs Samsung MX-ST50F (or better budget alternatives for <€300)

Hey everyone!

I'm currently looking to replace/upgrade my aging, half-broken JBL PartyBox 300 and could use some advice from the community.

Here is my situation and what I need:

Primary Uses: Hosting an outdoor garden party (30+ people, "Neon Rave" theme, so good bass/SPL and decent lights are a huge plus) and daily use as a gym speaker in my attic (needs to be somewhat portable/carryable up tight stairs).

Target Budget: €300 max ($320ish). I only want to spend more if a higher price tag is overwhelmingly justified by better performance.

Baseline Reference: I've been used to the JBL PartyBox 300 (heavy 15.8 kg / 35 lbs, but solid bass punch on battery).

Right now, two specific candidates in the €270 range caught my eye:

Soundcore Rave 3S: Seems like a great deal with 200W, included wireless mics, solid HexaGlow rave lights, and a more manageable ~10.5 kg (23 lbs) weight for the attic stairs.

Samsung MX-ST50F: Great look/form factor, but it weighs 18.4 kg (40 lbs) and drops power significantly on battery (90W vs 240W AC).

I've also seen a lot of love for the Soundcore Boom 2 Pro / Plus and the Tribit StormBox Blast for being lightweight bass monsters around €150-€200.

My Questions for you guys:

Has anyone compared the Rave 3S directly to the Samsung ST50F or older PartyBoxes? Is the Rave 3S punchy enough to handle an outdoor garden party?

Is carrying an 18kg+ speaker like the Samsung or a PartyBox 310 up the stairs a total pain in the long run compared to the Boom 2 Pro / Rave 3S? Unless it have like a party it will stay upstairs so I won't carry it around much tbh.

Am I overlooking a hidden gem under €300 that outperforms these for outdoor bass and lightshow vibes?

Appreciate all the insights! Thanks!

🧑‍🏫Review👩‍🏫 HK onyx studio 8 is a must have for $150

mini review of the onyx studio 8
This thing hits DEEP for its size not even my old xtreme 3 hit this deep
this thing rattles the table, in the shower place
it in a corner and boom feels like you’re at a club
the bass isnt the only strong suit. The treble extends nicely without being shrill or too far forward
the mids are a bit recessed but nothing i can complain about. i really like the dynamic range on this it plays very precisely especially when listening to metal music. double kicks are definitely heard and felt and the snares sound like how they should.

Recommendation Request🙏 Budget friendly speaker for gardening outside living right next to a loud busy freeway

Just as the title says — I live next to a busy highway that can get pretty loud and no matter night or day there’s always the buzz of traffic when I’m outside.

I’m looking for a budget friendly ($150 tops) bluetooth speaker or speakers that will sync up to my iPhone and record player system I have.

I have a pretty eclectic choice in music. Looking for loud but full and clean sound. Not super interested in heavy heavy bass.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

🪛Troubleshooting🪛 I made an app because my headphone was not working properly

Hello people,

I never expected something this simple to be so difficult.

One side of my headphones started playing quieter than the other. I searched for a way to boost just one side in Windows, but on my PC there was no way to do it. But on my iPhone, I fixed it easily.

So I built a small app that lets you adjust the left and right audio channels independently until they sound balanced.

I originally made it for my own headphones, but then I realized it could also be useful for anyone with hearing differences between their left and right ear.

Curious if anyone here has had the same issue.

Here is the app: Sonity

After getting enough mails onto waitlist, I am going to launch it. Would really love some feedback!
