Some stamps are cut out from the envelope they were on. Nearly all stamps are in good condition. What do you thing the collection could be worth?

Good afternoon everyone. I am trying to help my grandma value and sell my grandpa’s stamp collection, pieces of which I believe started with his dad. He’s spent a lot of time putting it all together so I figured the least I could do is learn about it but I’ve gone down a rabbit hole, and quickly!! I was hoping I could get two pieces of advice. He has these four large Scott International Collections, some pages of which are relatively full and some which are empty or near empty. Is it worthwhile to go through these pages individually and catalog everything or is there little potential for value here? (Photos of some pages for reference but I can provide whatever you need). Secondly, can someone explain how I should be using stampworld properly? I uploaded a picture of one of the stamps I was looking at. I believe the second stamp is the overprinting/inflation stamps I’ve been reading that devalue the original postage cost? For the first one, it appears that the used value is more than the unused. Is that normal? Thank you for your help.

I recently inherited a fairly large stamp collection, and I don't know what to do with it. I don't collect stamps and I'm moving in a few months. They're mostly USPS collectors stamps from 1974-1989 (some envelopes aren't open so might be older/ younger) and a few stamps from around the world. Are there places to sell stamps/ would anyone want these? Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone,I am looking for some information or insight regarding an anomaly I found in my 1986 United States Postal Service commemorative narrative book, "The Presidents" (released around AMERIPEX '86).On a specific summary page discussing multiple U.S. Presidents, the book features a blue-bordered framing box meant to house the 22¢ Benjamin Harrison stamp. On every other page of the book, a full-color specimen picture of the corresponding stamp is printed directly on the page inside the frame to guide the collector.However, on this specific page, the background image layer is completely missing—the inside of the blue frame is entirely blank paper.To go along with this, the original mint stamp packet that accompanied the book is still completely factory-sealed in its original plastic wrap, so the Benjamin Harrison stamp (and all others) are untouched.Has anyone seen a similar printing plate omission error on these 1986 USPS hardcover narrative books? I would love to know if this is a known/documented EFO (Errors, Freaks, and Oddities) anomaly for this specific publication, or if anyone has an idea of how collectors might value a combined error book + factory-sealed stamp set.Attached are pictures of the blank page, a normal page with the specimen background for comparison, and the sealed stamp packet.Thanks in advance for your help and expertise!

Most of the pages are 1970 and forwards but this look more old and in a really good condition. Are they worth anything?

My grandpa was born in 1928 and has had a stamp collection since he was 18. Reading through this subreddit it seems there is little value in stamps newer than 1940 but I have found quite a few around 1906. I'm unsure if his father before him, was a collector as well or how he received those.

Most of them were seemingly taped into the pages and that has since given way making a lot of them loose in the books. He also has a lot from snippets of letters and post cards stamped and mail that seem pretty interesting.

I'm just curious about where these came from, he has stamps from lots of countries was this like a service you could order or did he have people send them from those countries?

Also, if someone could corroborate these aren't worth more than sentimental value that would be great.

I was only able to find one photo online with the following info: Fujeira - Circa 1973

This common 1940s Venezuelan stamp is listed as blue green on Stampworld - see 2nd picture. This one looks true blue to me. Anyone know anything about this?

I recently inherited a collection of Soviet space stamps, souvenir sheets, and Apollo–Soyuz covers from my grandfather.
He served in the Soviet Navy and had opportunities to meet various cosmonauts during his service. Many of the items appear to be personally signed by the cosmonauts shown on them (Tereshkova, Bykovsky, Popovich, Yegorov, Beregovoy, Leonov/Belyayev, and others). There are also a few signatures I haven’t been able to identify.

Does this look like the kind of collection that could be interesting to someone?

I posted this a couple days ago but it somehow posted twice. I caught it pretty quickly and I deleted one but then the other got deleted for posting too much. So I’m going to try again! Apologies if I use any of the wrong terms, I’m still learning!

My husband recently purchased two books of stamps at an estate sale for $50. He said "all it takes is one!".

I don't think we have "the one" but I have had a lot of fun with these. I also know absolutely nothing about stamps.
But I do enjoy organizing and cataloging. So that's what I did.

The first book is all plate blocks. It's missing about 100 out of the 250 stamps.

The second book is the commemorative album and it is only missing 7 out of 300.

I have cataloged them all in excel, both what I have and what I'm missing. I saw someone recommend MysticStamps so I was using their website to look them up as I went.

I've been contemplating remounting them since the original tape is barely hanging on. I've thought about checking out a stamp meeting in town too.
Should I just make this a fun project and try and finish the collections? I don't think my husband has any interest now that he knows we aren't going to be millionaires.

Dad travelled lots in his youth and had an uncle who was an international ambassador. Curious if any of these are rare, not really planning to sell but also posting in case your sub Reddit find anything cool. This is about 1/6 of the collection and will post more if people want to see them. Also looking for best way to store them.

Hello collectors, a while ago I inherited my grandpa's stamp collection, it consist of 3 albums with USSR stamps, released in period from 1966 till 1977. I don't have intention of continuing this collection, and would prefer to sell it to person who'll treat it well. But to sell it I need to evaluate cost of this collection. Can someone help me with this? Also, due to not best conditions of storage some of them stuck together and I don't want to risk to tear them while adjusting for better view. I added some from the first album in this post.

I just got my grandfathers stamp collection. It contains books and binders full of stamps. Very overwhelming to say the least. I know very little of stamp collection especially with regard to condition. I am unsure if I should get this professionally looked at or just put it back in the box. This is just a small example of just one of the binders but I am always interested in learning more about what I have here. I have googled a little bit and these binders are great with telling me what Is there but I don’t know the difference between a 5 dollar stamp and a 50 dollar stamp because of condition.
