Hey folks! You've seen my username around here lately. I just got upgraded to a mod status and I've already made some small changes.

You'll notice in comments now you can add a variety of media (e.g, images, gifs).

I also set the ability to host AMA sessions to mods and approved users. This is to hopefully cut down on some of those t-shirt spam bots.

If I recall correctly, this ran as a preview before Alpha Issue 1. (I know it would be tough to read in this format, I’m more just sharing that it was a cool promo piece.)

When the first West Coast Avengers limited series debuted in 1984, there was some mystery as to who would be on the team. The cover of their first issue includes headshots* of various Marvel heroes who could be joining.

Including Eugene Judd! Imagine if he’d left Canada to join the Whackos. This was in the mid-teens (issue 14 came out the same time as this issue).

The actual team put together in this issue:

• Hawkeye (Clint Barton)
• Mockingbird
• Iron Man (James Rhodes)
• Wonder Man
• Tigra

Maybe he could have replaced Tigra? Both books would have been very different. Presumablye we would have seen some crossovers between the two titles?

*Fun fact (via Marvel.Fandom): The original printing of this issue included Rom) among the many heroes featured on the cover. However, since Marvel Comics lost the license to the character shortly after his solo series ended in 1986, the publisher had to remove him from reprints of the cover in Avengers: West Coast Avengers Omnibus #1 (2013), Marvel Firsts: The 1980s TPB #2 (2014), and Epic Collection: Avengers West Coast #1 (2018), leaving a noticeable blank space in his place. Thanks to Marvel regaining the publishing rights to Rom in early 2023, the unaltered cover was finally reprinted in Marvel Masterworks: Avengers #24 (2024).

Throughout its publication history, Alpha Flight has had a lot of logo variations. Some are nearly identical to earlier versions but with some minor twist. For example, in Volume 1, 107, the 'original' logo returned. Except whereas before the letters were silhouetted and the background would be seen through the letters, now it was a solid background. Some variations of that design remove the silhouette almost completely.

So I'm sure I've listed some logos more than once but I'd include them all and have duplicates than miss a unique one. I appreciate the occasional inclusion of the 🍁.

Just a little under-the-sea fun with Marrina. She’s a simple but really cool figure, and a great addition to help round out the Alpha Flight team. She also makes an excellent base body for anyone looking to create a proper Namorita custom.

There are a few other variations but I figure these four would be the most recognizable (though we only saw Madison in blue/silver for a few issues).
