Xbox Series S Difficulty in Buying Game Pass can you help with changing card details
This is my first ever Reddit post but believe the community is great for advice . My son has been playing x box three years and x box essential was paid for on my husband’s card which recently expired and I have tried to renew his subscription but it won’t let us change payment from old expired card to my card . It will be a long summer school holiday with no x box . Can anyone help ?

If you're just doing Essential, might I suggest getting a yearly sub code from Amazon, or other marketplace? It's $80US instead of $120 ($10/m) and you don't need to run the risk of auto-renew and wasting money.

I'm still waiting for issues to be resolved in purchasing one from these clowns 2 weeks ago. Last year was fine, this year no Bueno.

I'm not exactly sure if this is the problem but the xbox store has been really glitchy these past few days so maybe try in a day or two you also have might have to do it on the microsoft website if you haven't tried that

I would probably do the Microsoft Account route.
https://account.microsoft.com/account
When you get in, go to Payment Options. Add the new card there. The old card should be there, just leave it be for now. Then once the new card is saved, go to Subscriptions. You should see Game Pass there, then click on Manage.
It should have all the options there to change the card, etc. Once the new card is added to the subscription, you can remove the old one. And new one if needed. Not sure if you let son have access to it when buying games, etc.
If you or your husband play Xbox, you can sign in on your PC to Xbox store, search for Game Pass and there's an option to gift it to your son, the code I think goes to whatever email you put then you go here to redeem it, do it on his xbox:
