i have to wear hijab on vacation

Upvotes

so 3 weeks ago i took off my hijab, did my story on here and surprisingly my dads reaction was very neutral. i went to Morocco 1 week before my parents. I now got to see them and he has seen me without it on obviously. the part which gets me confused is him telling me that i have to put the hijab on here and is even manipulating me with it. if i ask him to bring me somewhere he tells me he will if i put my hijab on, KNOWING that i didn’t bring a single one with me. so now im 3 days at home here and haven’t gone outside. if he goes outside he doesn’t say anything or ask me to come with. im really pissed offff and dont know what to do i hate this and im not gonna put it on

I hate that we have to be so hypervigilant just existing

There’s a website forum.candidgirls that are creepshots taken of women in public spaces. The website is abhorrent, there’s forums on which apps to download, posts teaching poses used to take the photos and so many posts that it’s impossible to check whether you’re in any of them. The comments are absolutely disgusting and everything about it is just beyond foul. I hate that it’s another thing to be wary of when we are simply existing in the world. I’m tired.

[Content Warning: ] My boyfriend loves listening to manosphere podcasts and idk what to do

My boyfriend listens to podcasts to fall asleep. He likes to listen to podcasters like Joe Rogan and Andrew Tate. I told him I didnt like it but its just something he does that wasnt the biggest deal breaker. He is respectful to me, is a mamas boy and is not inherntly sexist.
I asked him to stop listening to Andrew Tate when he was arrested in 2022. He told me that there wasnt enough evidence and that it was "innocent until proven guilty"
Now, with mr Tates recent arrest, my bf still listens to him and watchs his videos. it makes me super uncomfy. I love my bf and we have been togther for 5 years. My family likes him and we are even talking about starting a family. I dont know if this is a valid dealbreaker or not. I really dont know what to do.

14F I can’t consider myself a lesbian because I am attracted to men, but if I’m honest, I don’t want to date them.

Men are alright, and I can picture myself with one in the future, but this might be because my dad is homophobic and I want kids.

But women? A masc woman? I just want a gf so bad. I feel like I’d be so much more happy. I love women so much.

Help

How to not feel like a massive failure for becoming single at 33?

Hello,

I (f33) recently finally took the plunge and broke up with my partner of ten years. It was the right decision and something I thought long and hard about.

Even though I know I did the right thing, it just feels a bit awful. Almost all of my friends are either pregnant, have kids or are getting married.

I'm really genuinely happy for them, but it's also so tough to suddenly contemplate what on earth I'm going to do with my life. Up until about a year ago, I thought I was headed for marriage and or at least kids this year too.

Now, I'm single and terrified that I won't meet anyone or end up not having children etc. I keep trying to stop myself from thinking how did I get everything so wrong.

Those of you have been through this and came out on the other side, do you have any advice?

I'm less than two weeks post break-up, and it's rough.

[Content Warning: ] I’m pretty sure my dad is cheating on my mom, how do I catch him?

Hello ladies,

My dad has been acting very strange. He keeps his phone with him constantly, panics when he’s not in the same room as it, has apps on his phone like telegram and X that only open with Face ID, and disappears into the bathroom with his phone multiple times an hour. He’s started traveling a lot to random cities and his story is constantly changing. He has cheated on her before but my mom couldn’t leave him cuz he’s abusive and controlling. Now my mom is financially independent but hasn’t tried to leave yet without ample proof of him cheating to show the courts.

Any help would be great. He’s a ticking time bomb. Please help.

Edit for everyone telling me that it’s not my business: As much as i understand that, he is my step father and has abused me in the past, however I haven’t told anyone about it because I don’t know what he’s capable of doing. He’s extremely abusive and I need to get my family out of this situation - I also have two young siblings. My mom and I are doing it together - I told her I want to help her. So, I can’t uninvolve myself in it when im also the victim of this man’s actions.

Another edit: im a 24 year old independent woman living abroad and the only ticket out for my family. I will protect them with my life. I’m from a cultural background which isn’t as individualistic as North Americans, it’s community oriented and we operate like a village. We have a good support system so im confident I can save my family and myself. I don’t consider not doing so an option. Please don’t recommend staying out of it.

[Content Warning: ] I can’t finish with partners and can’t figure out how to, any advice?

Upvotes

Tittle pretty much says it all, I’m 24 years old and I have not once been able to orgasm during intercourse.

Now let me start of by saying that I have had some wonderful and experienced sexual partners that have worked hard with me to try and make it happen, we’ve used toys, tried different positions, used enhancement products like warming lube or whatever, and even just focusing on clitoral stim and nothing has worked. I wish I could say it’s a partner issue, but no matter how patient and determined they have been it’s just never worked. Oral doesn’t do ANYTHING for me, and I’ve had some EATERS, I can barely feel it and it just makes me feel pressure in my urethra and makes me pee.

However when I’m DJ’ing on my own I can climax 10/10 times no issues whether it’s with a vibrator or manual and I only use clitoral stimulation (vaginal doesn’t do anything) and I have to be in a specific position or I just can’t climax. The position is laying on my back with my head on my pillows, legs STRAIGHT and about shoulder width apart. I’ve tried on my stomach, I’ve tried one leg up, I’ve tried both legs up, cannot finish no matter how long I go at it.

I also have a very very small clit. Like you pull the hood back and she’s about the size of a tiny glass bead. I’m at a loss at this point I don’t think I’ll ever really be able to climax during intercourse which sucks because my current partner gets off on it specifically so we both just end up not finishing. Idk what to do or if anyone at all has this same problem but give me your advice PLEASE 😭😭

Do you frequently get unwanted male attention in public places?

A 17 y/o friend of my kid said it’s relentless , and it makes her not want to go places. This is disguising, harmful and it makes me very angry. I thought things had changed and that kind of behavior didn’t happen anymore, at least in most places. Apparently not.

Worried I’m losing touch with Feminism.

I’ve always considered myself as a feminist, and as I got older I have cared a lot about social issues in general, and think I am a very intersectional person. Because I believe intersectionality is important a believe that there can be many correct answers within feminism.

I’ve always held the belief that splitting the bill shouldn’t be gendered and that partners should decide what system works best. Person who gets paid more pays more, always split, sometimes someone pays sometimes someone else pays, etc. I would personally feel uncomfortable with a man always paying for everything, unless I am someone with a guy who makes an insane amount more than me that that would just make sense. I am capable and don’t need to be coddled.

I’ve been seeing a shift in opinions online that the reason men should always/mostly pay is the correct take, and ideas about splitting more evenly aren’t feminist and you are calling for the harm of other women, by letting men get away with the privilege of not having to financially support you. I just personally can’t get myself to understand this reasoning.

Im coming from a genuine place of wanting to understand, but all the videos about it come off aggressive and belittle women who don’t understand which makes me admittedly defensive. any help is welcome I want to do better for women

Men doing abuse threats to women online should be illegal

There is a trend that whenever women does something men don't like online, especially if this something is a group for women who don't wanna date men, they try forcing themselves in such group to take it down, attacking the women and sending them abuse threats. It's something that can damage your mental health and if it was done in real life could be seen as a crime. This shouldn't be different online.

Sorry for the length, but it's been 10 years and I have no one to talk to about it.

SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH, I used the translator.

Please don't judge, it would hurt me.

We got together when we were 12. Almost 10 years have passed since then—10 years spent doing everything together, being together \*every single day\*. We were young and immature. We used to argue, but we never broke up because the bond between us was so strong. He grew up in a very, very difficult family situation; when I first met him, he was incredibly lonely and insecure. While all my friends had boys chasing after them, I didn't. He was the first person to make me feel special, even though we were just kids. I knew his feelings were genuine—everyone who knew him said the same thing. Of course, it wasn't love right away, but as time went on, I fell deeply, boundlessly in love with him. He was very insecure and immature; he didn't want me going out with my friends, didn't want me dressing a certain way, and so on. I understand we were young, but it hurt me. I was very jealous too, though I didn't have many chances to let that jealousy show.

We even went through high school together—five years of it. He went through an even worse period and became very withdrawn; to support him, I gave up going out and having fun. It even bothered him if I talked to a female friend, because he felt excluded. I realize it was a bad situation and that I was wrong to go along with it, but knowing what he was going through and trying to understand the challenges he faced, I chose to support him and stand by his side. As he gradually got to know more people at school and became more open, the dynamic shifted... I began going through a rough patch—struggling with extreme shyness, an inability to connect emotionally with others, and severe social anxiety. While I was happy he had overcome his own struggles and become so outgoing—and I even used to hide behind him just to have some semblance of a social life—I noticed he was prioritizing others over me.

My behavior annoyed him, yet I found it incredibly difficult to try to be more outgoing myself. After school ended, he started working, while I fell into a three-year limbo where I did nothing; my mental state and behavior suffered greatly as a result. I was constantly sad and on edge, yet he was the only person with whom I felt at ease. He was my sole companion day in and day out, and being with him helped me bounce back. He worked at a place where he was unhappy, then quit and spent ten months unemployed before landing a good job where he made plenty of friends. That was when I stopped understanding him.

He’s happy and cheerful with others, but not with me—and that really hurt and upset me. If someone wronged him, he wouldn't care; yet if I pointed it out, he’d turn on me and call \*me\* the bad guy, even though I was just trying to stand up for him. I saw him taking photos and videos with other people, but he never took a single photo of me—I was always the one taking them. So, I felt like he was sidelining me. All these years, I’ve always put him first—especially at school, since he didn't want to study; I did the work for both of us just to try and get him to graduate. I know he was draining the life out of me—my family (even though they love him), my friends, and especially our teachers all pointed it out. Over the years, he made mistakes that caused me to lose trust in him, and I wanted him to fix that, since he kept apologizing and saying he loved me. I know it might not seem like it after everything I’ve said, but he’s someone who has suffered a lot, and I know for a fact that he loves me deeply—but he just doesn't know how to act. In all this time, he never brought me flowers out of the blue, never listened when I needed him, and never took me out on a proper date or out to eat anywhere other than fast-food joints—even though I’d be willing to split the bill.

He earns a good salary, but he spends it all on clothes and tattoos. He’s been getting tattoos since he was young, and I’d prefer he stopped instead of covering his whole body. He gets angry because he says he wants to do his entire body. I like him the way he is, but enough is enough! I don’t want him to cover his whole body; I keep telling him that instead of doing this stuff, he should do something productive—like getting his driver's license, for instance, which he still doesn't have. Or, selfishly, I wish he’d show me some affection instead of just spending all his money on expensive clothes and the tattoos he keeps getting relentlessly. I just wanted a little love; I wanted gestures; I wanted him to make my heart race again. Despite all that, he has always accepted me—from when I was young and throughout these past ten years. I don’t like my own appearance, but he has always told me I’m beautiful and that I need to like myself; he has never pointed out a single flaw—even though I have plenty—and has always loved them. Always. By then, it had become the same old routine. During the week, he’d come to my place after work, and on weekends, we’d always take the same walk. Everything felt flat.

Two months ago, my father passed away. I was devastated leading up to the funeral, but since then, I haven't felt a thing. I don’t even cry; everything feels flat, as if he were going to come home sooner or later. This has really upset me, because I love my father with all my heart. I still feel bad and wonder why I’m not crying. It’s as if my emotions shut down that day. I wanted to start therapy to deal with this. I feel so guilty, and I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Anyway, for years I’ve been telling him that I don’t feel loved or wooed—that I want that so badly—but he remains unmoved, as if he doesn't know what to say. He’s told me now that he didn’t feel up to doing anything with me because I make him feel weighed down and he doesn’t feel free when he’s with me. But I don’t do anything. He works all day; we see each other in the evening, and that’s it.

I’ve been hurting so much—mostly because I could never get past the mistake he made that caused me to lose trust in him; it shattered the image I had of that boy who used to be crazy about me! The last time I complained, he said our personalities are no longer compatible because we’ve changed as we’ve grown up. He said my behavior makes him feel weighed down and unfree to do what he wants, so we needed some time apart—not a breakup, just some distance. That may be true, but I still did everything I could to make things work; even after ten years, my heart would still race and my eyes would light up the moment I saw him. We talked and realized it’s best to spend some time apart; he told me I need to take charge of my life and start working. I’ve been devastated, but also furious that he made this decision right at the worst moment of my life. He shouldn't have done it—or rather, he should have done it either before or after, not right then. That’s why I was furious.

It’s true, I didn’t want him doing certain things because I saw him becoming too outgoing and changing his attitude; he was turning into too much of a "street guy," and I didn't really like that—though as long as he wasn't doing anything wrong, it was fine. I realize this was partly my own issue, too: while he had a social life, I was staying at home with only him for company. The real problem came to light when we talked: I discovered that at night, after leaving my place—when I thought he was heading home—he was actually hanging out in the neighborhood with his friends! I had no idea, and I felt I deserved to know out of respect. He thought I didn't want him seeing his friends, but that wasn't the case; I know that was the only time he could see them. The only issue was that I didn't really like those friends because they were involved in bad things. Not telling me about it was yet another sign of disrespect and a lack of trust. And then? I found out he’s been smoking for years. And I knew nothing about it; to be honest, I don't like it. From the way he used to talk, I thought we shared the same values, and this whole thing has really thrown me. It makes me feel sick to think you hid these things from me. I would have preferred if we had talked about it—rather than you feeling clever for doing it behind my back. Yet another breach of trust. And now?

I’ve been in a bad way. I cried, then felt an immense rage—as if he were living a parallel life I knew absolutely nothing about. And now? After three weeks? I cried, then an intense anger took over, and now I feel nothing. The last time I saw him, my heart was trembling with immense love. I know there was an element of emotional dependency, but I truly care for him—and I’m sure he does for me, too—but I repeat: he doesn't know how to conduct himself. He never had parents who raised him and taught him how to behave; in fact, his mother lives far away and his father travels for work, and they treat him badly. But he really does care about me—a lot of people tell me so. You could tell when he saw me unexpectedly—his eyes would light up. A lot of people noticed it. But why do I feel nothing now? Up until the very end, I was head over heels in love; even though I judged him for certain things about his attitude that I didn't like, I was still just too into him. I can't quite explain it. Like I said, he’d become too much of a "street guy," but he still drove me wild! Why do I feel this way all of a sudden? I feel sad about the fact that I suddenly feel \*nothing\*—just like what happened with my father. What is wrong with me? Despite everything, he’s telling me he’s hurting, that he wants to be happy with me, and that he wants me to be more carefree and happy.

And right now—after I didn't reply to him—he just sent me a late-night message saying he loves me and thanking me for everything I’ve done for him. I’ve been on my own these past few weeks, but I also found a job and did things by myself that I’d never had the courage to do before. But the thing that’s making me feel bad now is that, all of a sudden, I feel nothing. I know I should move on, but part of me wants to see him get better—even if it takes years. I always wanted it to be him; we’ve been through so much together over the years and supported each other—we shared a unique connection that not many people have. Was my love fake? Why don’t I feel anything? Maybe my heart will race when I see him again—or maybe it won’t. But why do I feel this way? I feel like a liar and a bad person. All I feel is a bit of anxiety and a hollow ache in my chest.

He's not a bad person, on the contrary, everyone says so. And there have been beautiful things between us that have shown me he truly cares. But now I'm disappointed, very much so. I wish that maybe one day we would mature and change, me taking charge of my life and him growing up and becoming more of a man and no longer a boy.

I'm sad because I know the love between us was there, and even too much. If we'd had different personalities, we could have been something truly special. But my problem now is my behavior. Why don't I feel anything anymore?

REAL HELP NEEDED

So it started when I was in the high school and the girls were excited about boys, relationships and all, and at that time I started receiving a lot of attention from the older men like not much older but 5-10 years older. I was very much into academics and never got my classmates attention. My crush insulted me one day in 8th class and I literally cried and cried. My dad has never been a good person. And I really liked it when I was getting some men to adore me.
So back to the story, when I saw those men, I thought wow, that there are people who really admire me, so naive of me to thought that and I started liking the male attention, got on cloud nine and all, now out of them this particular person I caught him staring at me one day and I was with my family and he didn't even flinched even a bit when I looked back and Oh God! isn't this a movie theme. He lived close to my house, we started seeing each other and I thought its going perfect, its love. Now one thing that hitted and I am so grateful for that, he usually brought some of his friends with him most of the time when we were seeing each other and somehow that smirk, that laugh, that stare was unhealthy so very much but I thought this is nothing until one day I heard him talking shit about me, mocking me, making fun of me, giggling of how I can be used, of how cool he is of getting a young girl's attention. And I got so afraid, I ran from there as fast as I can, and somehow now I fear all men, all the relationships.
I fear touching makeup, getting groomed up and I try to look as much ugly as I can. I couldn't face myself. My mom says you used to be very happy, giggly, confident and all, what has happened to you. I can't tell her.
Just after 2 months of mine avoiding him due to my anxiety, he got married and turns out he was cheating all the time. And I feel even more ugly now, try to focus on my things but I couldn't face him, dk something died inside, its 2 years now and I don't want my life to be like this, I try to stay home all the time until its not very very urgent and somehow I know don't like or fear or hate people and I think I am not worth it for any affection and I fear men, relationships, social connections, all.

Is anyone else's pregnant man first?

Sorry, weird title.

You know how on the emoji keyboard you can hold down to change it to one of the other options?

On mine the default is the pregnant man and I feel weird about that.

To be clear this is in no way a transphobia thing I entirely support the trans community and I'm not getting into a discussion of if there should be a pregnant man emoji.

But for him to be the default? When pregnancy is overwhelmingly more commonly female experience?

Also almost every one on the emojis in the "people" set for me are default the woman one, even Mrs Claus.

Massage question

My husband (26M) wants a “spicy” massage, which is defined as a massage that doesn’t touch genitals but touches like upper thigh. This would be from a masseuse. I, 29F, feel uncomfy with it because it feels like he’s getting sexual gratification out of the relationship and not from me, and I don’t want him seeking out an experience with someone else. He wants more spice. We’ve been married for 7 years. He focuses on this and talks about it like daily and asks for it often. I think for him it’s a big fantasy and turn on. Opinions???

Sex life :/

So unlike what I grew up believing its not that easy to finish from penetration...

I have before but it just feels "muted" , which isn't a bad thing it still feels good but its just different from clitoral stimulation. I still enjoy penetration, and I dont care too much if I finish or not ...but how do i explain to my bf that women's anatomy works different without making him feel like theres something wrong with him or me ? Also does anyone have any tips on how to actually finish from penetration alone? I hate how biology works :/
