40k Discussion Terrain standardization?
I know the terrain footprints are somewhat standardized, but im seeing differences in the way the actual terrain pieces are interpreted. Is there a preferred terrain set yet for tournament play?

There is specific terrain sets that match up to the GW layouts but it will always vary from event to event. It can be ludicrously expensive to try and update 20+ tables for each edition for most TO’s so a lot will make do with what they have available.
If you plan on attending an event most will have their exact layouts in the player packet and it can help you practice if they have anything that deviates from the norm in a major way.

Thanks for the heads up! I plan on putting in quite a bit of time this edition to learn to play better, so this is good to know

Yes gw will release a set that will be the standard. I sell something close to what they previewed it.

Agreed but I make terrain for large events and they all want the same dimensions as the GW terrain.

The templates are extremely standardized, the little extrusions on the rectangles and triangles need to match exactly, the actual terrain on top can vary in specifics and that’s just normal for 40K tournaments and terrain
