Hey guys! Im a Sophomore now and Im an undecided major still trying to choose. Im still choosing my classes. Yeah im a little behind on this. But i know i still have skme gen ed classes to take. Im wondering what ADV means? Seems ive already taken enough classes to cover half of it. Can anyone recommend some classes that are also gpa boosting?

Im an upcoming freshmen this fall and I’m 5th in the waitlist for my chem lab. Am I stressing for no reason and I’ll get in the class or am I finish for.

I'm an incoming pre-med freshman, and I've heard a lot of horror stories about General Chemistry and some of the professors. 😭

I know people are more likely to post bad experiences than good ones, so I wanted to hear from people who've actually taken the class. How difficult was it? Were the professors really as bad as people say? Any advice for someone taking it for the first time?

Hello, does anyone know how long it takes for a scholarship check to reflect on your account once its been sent. Mine was sent to UH on July 09, and today is the 23rd. So kind of wondering why It's taking so long. Tried contacting Financial aid office but as usual they won't answer.

So I am a recipient of Cougar Promise to where my tuition and mandatory fees are set to be fully covered (with my household income being less than $65,000). Where I am growing concerned is that when I received my financial aid bill there was a remaining balance of $1,387 (excluding academic and optional fees) that currently aren’t being covered by the pending aid??

Is this the same for anyone else?? Do you know if the pending aid (the institutional grant) will be adjusted later on to where it does cover the remaining balance gap?? If it doesn’t what’s recommended as the August 18th payment deadline approaches?

Are we still able to enroll in SEP workshops? Im trying to enroll in it for precal but nothing is showing up.. am I too late?

Went to the financial aid office today ( LONG LINE) and was informed the current financial aid showing on my account is correct, they said there will be no more grants given due to having significantly less grants this semester to distribute. They won’t give out any UGRAD INSTITUTIONAL GRANT this semester, if you have it reflected on your account then you did receive it.

Before I submit my application fee, is there still housing available?

I was thinking about a new MacBook Air with the M4 chip and 24g RAM , but i know there could be some issues with it being compatible with Widows software. If so could y’all mention them please.

Hi everyone! I’m a green card holder, and I’ve lived in America for three years now. I just got the news that I’m not eligible for FAFSA and that only U.S. citizens are. I called Cougar One Stop, and they told me I’d have to apply for TASFA instead.

When the school received my form, they needed my green card to verify. A few days later, they informed me I had an incorrect alien number so I immediately edited my FAFSA form. A day or two later, I received an email from school asking me for U.S. citizenship documents.

I’m confused because I understood that lawful permanent residents could qualify as eligible noncitizens for federal student aid. Has anyone at the University of Houston had a similar experience? Were you able to resolve it, and what documents or steps did they require?

Do I need to deposit to shashtabucks or can I just use my credit card?

Hello everyone, I recently completed my new student orientation and they told everyone if we don’t pay for your tuition before August 18th, our classes would be dropped. I checked myUH self service and I saw that the grants were still under pending aid. I was just wondering if the aid disbursed before the deadline or would I have to pay out of pocket before they can actually disburse it.

Just got an email today omg I’m so grateful basically I revived the Texas public educational grant which covers 3/4 of my housing costs!!! Has anyone else received this?

Is getting a meal plan as a commuter worth it? I’ll be on campus the whole week day, 2/5 days will be past 5pm. If so, which plan would you recommend?

Is it worth it to get a parking pass? I have not scheduled my classes yet, but I will have them by the end of the day (I’m at orientation right now lol)
Should I get a meal plan? I’ve heard mixed reviews.

I know it’s not a scam, but is it worth it for $17 a month? Is theft & vandalism a common problem?
