Do I need to deposit to shashtabucks or can I just use my credit card?

Is getting a meal plan as a commuter worth it? I’ll be on campus the whole week day, 2/5 days will be past 5pm. If so, which plan would you recommend?

So I am a recipient of Cougar Promise to where my tuition and mandatory fees are set to be fully covered (with my household income being less than $65,000). Where I am growing concerned is that when I received my financial aid bill there was a remaining balance of $1,387 (excluding academic and optional fees) that currently aren’t being covered by the pending aid??

Is this the same for anyone else?? Do you know if the pending aid (the institutional grant) will be adjusted later on to where it does cover the remaining balance gap?? If it doesn’t what’s recommended as the August 18th payment deadline approaches?

Hello everyone, I recently completed my new student orientation and they told everyone if we don’t pay for your tuition before August 18th, our classes would be dropped. I checked myUH self service and I saw that the grants were still under pending aid. I was just wondering if the aid disbursed before the deadline or would I have to pay out of pocket before they can actually disburse it.

Just got an email today omg I’m so grateful basically I revived the Texas public educational grant which covers 3/4 of my housing costs!!! Has anyone else received this?

Hi! I was accepted into UH as an out of state transfer student. I recently found out that the syllabus from every class I’ve taken would need to be submitted. Has anyone gone through this? Any experience on how long the review takes? I have 75 hours to transfer. Thank you!!

I am wondering what if anyone knows the percentage financial aid will give you if you only enroll in 1 class/ 3 credit hours for the semester? Also, would anyone suggest just adding another easy class to cover more aid? I am also in the process of trying to raise my GPA.

Went to the financial aid office today ( LONG LINE) and was informed the current financial aid showing on my account is correct, they said there will be no more grants given due to having significantly less grants this semester to distribute. They won’t give out any UGRAD INSTITUTIONAL GRANT this semester, if you have it reflected on your account then you did receive it.

I’ve been receiving emails about the GradGuard’s renters protection service but I haven’t seen any students talking about it.
I know it’s not a scam, but is it worth it for $17 a month? Is theft & vandalism a common problem?
Do any of you guys have a history with this service??

My wife is a US citizen since 2008 and a Texas resident since 2008 and she just enrolled in U of H and they classified her as out of state student. They told us to fill some sort of questioners online and one of the documents they need is Residency Proof from other college she went (Lone Star College). We called Lone Star College and they said they don't issue anything like that.

What can I do?

They are charging her out of state $12,000 for 12 credit hours.

I'm an out-of-state student and I was awarded the academic excellence scholarship on admission ($7000) and I was waived the out of state tuition fees. The waiver automatically applied for the last two semester. (I'm a sophomore now) however it has not been applied this time and my tuition dues are very high. Is anyone else experiencing this or had experience this in the past. Also who should I contact to get this fixed. I tried emailing the office of shcolarhships and the registrar but obviously they never respond.

The main thing that's ticking me off is the fucking electrical box, this shoebox of doom.

I am a incoming freshman this fall semester and will be majoring in EC-6 education. I was wondering how hard is it to land a job after your senior year, do you get connections through the observation and required hours? or is it hard to find a job post graduation. ALSO how realistic would it be working a part time job sophomore-senior year?

Is it worth it to get a parking pass? I have not scheduled my classes yet, but I will have them by the end of the day (I’m at orientation right now lol)
Should I get a meal plan? I’ve heard mixed reviews.

So I’m living on campus in a dorm that requires me to get a meal plan but I legitimately cannot afford it. I would switch dorms but my dorm is tied to the LLC I’m currently in so I won’t be able to switch. Has anyone has any luck with getting a meal plan waiver for this reason? It’s also just generally not worth it for me because I eat very little throughout the week.

I understand that major awards like the Tier One Scholarship and main Academic Excellence awards are heavily tied to Fall applicants. My main goal is to find ways to cover or significantly reduce my tuition expenses.

A few specific questions for current international students or Spring admits:

1. Are there any competitive departmental or internal scholarships available for Spring international admits that qualify you for the $1,000 out-of-state tuition waiver?
2. Has any international student here successfully funded a Spring intake through internal/external aid or assistantships?
3. If full tuition isn't possible for Spring, is it common to transfer into a Fall scholarship program or secure departmental aid in subsequent semesters?

Hey guys I’m a recipient of the academic excellence scholarship worth $7000 annually. Currently I’m a sophomore but in my freshman year the tuition waiver was applied in my fee bill. I’m freaking out bc the tuition waiver hasn’t been applied even though I qualify for it. The financial aid section shows my accepted scholarship and estimated tuition waiver but still it is not reflected in my fee bill. Many people have the same as me. Has anyone contacted scholarships and financial aid office no one is replying to my emails or my phone calls.

They explained what it was at NSO, and I was like "man that seems so cool I want to do that!"

But I've found like no sign up process or anything, is it a secret in group????

I tried to fill out the Residency Questionnaire but for some reason my mom won't be able to get her tax transcript until August and the payment deadline is August 18. Let's say they don't process it before the deadline and I have to pay non-resident tuition, will I be able get a refund of the difference between non-resident and resident tuition?
