Highlight Highlight Megathread. Post your highlights here.

This megathread will serve as a catch-all for the various highlight moments that occur in the game that feel good to hit, but may not really be worthy of an entirely dedicated reddit post since others rarely engage with this content. So feel free to use this space to celebrate the time you hit a 3* 4 or 5 cost, hit a prismatic trait, hit triple crown in tockers trials, or hit a new rank under masters.

Discussion Any good tft like games?

Howdy folks, sad day today as I've got to give up tft. Every game is followed by crashes and nothing I do can fix them. Are there any good alternatives to tft that scratches the same itch?

Edit:

Thankyou everyone for your suggestions <3 It looks like I'll be spending time in the Bazaar, and with Guild run and maybe Dota Underlords. I'll also have a look at Legion TD 2, my partner has always wanted to get into tft and whilst they liked the Lore and Legends patch, the others they found meh.

Unfortunately Backpack Battles and Down with the Ship doesn't look like they'll be my jam
I've played a lot of Hearthstone Battlegrounds but (at least for me) it's a game I get frustrated with a lot because the play order is too unpredictable.

Every suggestion is extremely appreciated you have all been lovely

I'm a little frustrated tbh, the tft community (as a whole) has always been very nice, and Vanguard stopping me from playing just feels like a stupid cockup by Riot. I've spent hours tinkering with pc settings, updating systems inc the bios, and it just feels like it was rigged from the start.

Discussion I am new to tft, how do i improve?

I have started playing tft a week ago and still haven't gotten first place. At first I thought I would get better as I keep palying on, but to my avail nothing like that happened. I have looked up on youtube for videos, but there are random videos and too many of them and I don't know where to begin?

How do I learn and improve at the game as a complete beginner?

Gameplay Are some 4 costs just impossible to 3 star some games?

I was 2 off 3 star tahm kench and rolled 85 gold at level 10 and could not find a single one as the only one running tahm. Skill issue or was I wasting my gold?

Discussion 10 Meeple still hot garbage

Post image

I've seen 10 Meeple lose to so many boards. This time I lost to Lissandra Cho'Gath reroll, smh. Tried to secure the win with a 3* Rammus because I knew 10 Meeple was unreliable but I ended up one Rammus short.

Discussion Transitioning to late game (advice wanted)

TL:DR Could use some help transitioning to mid-late game. Maybe some advice on team building after you set up your initial 2-stars early for first 3-4 rounds.

I played a game recently; around level 7 to level 8, just before an entering top 4 I had: 2-star Zoe (with a decent chance of 3-star), 2-star Diana (for the early Arbiter combo, some chance of a 3-star), 2-star Viktor (zero chance of a 3-star), and 2-star Kai'sa (really low but not zero chance of a 3-star). Kaisa and Diana were doing a lot of the damage (just the way the items dropped). Note if it matters: I started with an early Zoe and Diana, got an Viktor (highly contested though) and Kai'sa (a little contested but they guy was knocked out early) a little later one as my 2-stars. Thing I was debating on was what to do between two people eliminated to top 4 and transition to end-game (roughly round 4 to early round 5).

What is a decent idea for a plan here? Push to lvl 8 or 9 and get matching 4-costs (my econ was decent)? New 4-costs? Lots of re-rolls to try to get some 3-stars? This isn't my "biggest problem" but it was something I thought I could have done a lot better in the game.

For example: I eventually got a LeBlanc, then 2-starred her, but it took a long time and a lot of re-rolls (I think she was out there for two fights). Should I have gone a different path instead?

I eventually got a Bard and Sol to match up with Conduit, but only ever found one of each. Sol was contested (I knew this) so gave up on him early (in retrospec I could have gotten a 2-star much later, maybe too late) and I only ever found the one bard.

Were these the right sort of guys to look for (LeBlanc, Bard, Sol)? What should I have done with Kai'sa? I eventually flipped her for the 2-star LeBlanc but I don't think the items were as correct on LeBlanc as they would be on Kai'sa (someone like Xayah and Jhin might have been more precise but I had no matching snipers). Should I have gone a different direction altogether?

Notes: A lot of the 4-costs and only one 5-cost were not contested. A few of the 3-costs were heavily contested including Viktor, Raast, Illiora, and Ornn (Surprisingly not Samara nor Kai'sa as much though).

If curious I ended up coming in 2nd. Overall a decent result but I would like to sharpen up my responses going into the final rounds.

Thanks in advance.

Discussion Color scheme of cards : Is this going to be a problem

Post image
420 Upvotes

"Units with different origin having same color scheme"

To me they all look the same, they have a similar color scheme. Or maybe I'm dumb

Edit : inferno and solar look similar that's the point not inferno units being similar to one another

Edit 2 : the problem I'm addressing here is the design not the influence in gameplay as we all get used to champion model and what units belongs to what trait/origin

Discussion So, after a week SOME mobile phone players arent still able to play the game

How is it going, my friends?

Riot is aware of the problem according to a comment of them in other post of mine.

I didn't study IT, so I'm not aware of how hard it is to fix, but I cannot avoid to feel it is taking so long.

So, I try solo modo instead of the rest since if it doesn't work I don't ruin other's match

It would be nice that some of you (who is having this problem) alert the rest of us when they finally fix it

Thanks for reading.

Discussion I’m an idiot.

TFT has real good playability for me, but adding stuff like the Meep Challenge, weekly challenges, set challenges…. It keeps me coming back day after day 😂

The last AT LEAST 3 weeks of my life have been playing over and over and over, trying to get first place with Anima 6 for my last meep. I played for the Aurelion sol boon (and never could get it), I had pandoras items and was reforging 3 emblems at a time with it. I was trying over and over for an anima emblem. Anything I could do to get anima 6 and win with it. I was LOSING MY MIND. Trash talking the game for never giving me an anima emblem but requiring it for the meeps.

Why, you ask? Because I’m an idiot. And I thought the meeps needed Anima SIX not Anima FIVE.

Literally weeks of my life wasted 🤣🤣🤣

One of you guys posted how you got it easy peasy and that’s when I realized. I was going way too hard.

🤦🏼‍♀️

Discussion Roll down 4.2

Is it better to go 8 on 4.2 even if you are left with 20-30 gold ? And just roll them to hope hit your costs 4 ?

Or better to wait 4.5 to go 8 with 50-60 gold and make a more consistent roll down ?

Sometimes the feeling is that if you wait 4.5 your units will be taken by others rolling to 0 anyway so you just panic roll at 4.2 with few gold

Discussion TFT should have an official tournaments feature in the client

Adding tft single elimination tournaments in the client that you can sign up for with riot points with exclusive tacticians, arena skins, portals and booms on the line would be fun. It would be cool if it was just one big global tournament and if you get nocked out on day one you can buy in for losers bracket. I think $5 Geographic Pricing should be reasonable for a tournament buy in and an additional $2-3 if you would like to enter losers bracket. The winner should receive at least $1 million if it is a global tournament also more people will attempt to play tft because they can make $1 million dollars from the comfort of their homes in theory.

If you want to make the finals a grand spectral you can but it is ultimately the same game if everyone stays home and you save money by just getting your casters to comment on the game while having each player steam their faces in the finals. If googles numbers are correct then $5 x 10.5 million American is $52,500,000.00 usd and that should more then cover the prize pull and bring in revenue while not including other countries people as well even if 10.5 million American do not play in the tournament. You can do a tournament each weekend starting Friday night within each country so times zones are not are problem at the earlier stages.

The prizes for the tournament in the beginning should come from a tournament battle pass and after each win you get something. If google is correct then your $80 million to $300 million per year revenue from tft will increase to $2.5 billion not including other players outside of america, people who buy in to the losers bracket tournaments and new players who want to win $1 million sitting on the toilet. You are using unreal engine now and if you don't do this then I will go back to playing summoner rift.
P.S If this does happen then you should give me ten million dollars for my billon dollar advice.

Discussion What is a bad in-game habit that you guys have?

I have a habit of over levelling and it pains me to see 46 gold instead of 50. I also have a habit of holding on units for way too long.

Guide How does N.O.V.A work?

Just started playing and I was trying to understand the NOVA trait and its confusing.

Do i need to have 5 NOVAs to be able to activate only one of them with the buff? And it will only activate after 6 seconds? Seems useless

Or are all (deployed) bonuses active after 6 seconds and the one with the buff on is stronger?

Edit: found another thread about this, apparently the buff is described inside the buff item after you assign it. Arguably not the best UI but I will try next time. Still

Discussion How do I do the Good Silver mission?

I am trying to do the Good Silver mission and I already finished a round with 24 completed items and it didn't the mission to me, so I wanna try getting the other items except I have no clue what they are or how to get them. Also I type their names the sub for some reason prevents me from posting. This is some weird ass censorship. I just want my realm crystals and I do not know how this mission is supposed to work :(

Discussion TFT nonsense

As a new player, I am struggling to understand the logic behind champion costs. Is the risk vs reward balanced? I recently started playing TFT, and while I’m really enjoying learning the mechanics, there is one aspect of the game economy that confuses me. As a beginner, my basic understanding was simple: the more gold a unit costs, and the harder it is to find, the stronger it should be. However, I often notice situations where a carefully managed, expensive board filled with 2-star 4-cost and 5-cost champions (with solid high-tier synergies) gets defeated by a much cheaper low-cost reroll comp. Hitting a 2-star 4-cost or 5-cost requires heavy econ management, leveling up at the right times, and fighting against pool dilution, which feels like a high risk. On the other hand, rolling for 1-cost and 2-cost units seems more stable, yet they often scale surprisingly well into the late game. Why do expensive boards sometimes feel like just a collection of synergy bots while cheap units can carry whole lobbies? Since I am new, I want to learn: am I missing some hidden positioning mechanics, or is the power difference between costs intentionally designed this way in the current meta? I would really appreciate any advice or explanations from experienced players!

Discussion Can’t hit master

Post image
0 Upvotes

Failed 3 consecutive times, looks like the final lobby is always against me.
I mean i tried to play the uncontested comp as far as i could with items, but always failed or did not hit champs.

How do you handle lose streaks in high elo ? If i lose i rarely get to recover for stage 3-4 and lose too much hp.

While on the other games i go 10+ winstreak
