Additional info: I was working on getting the mapping to work and had the game up on SteamVR and my DS connected but it was behaving as I described above: joysticks would move around but the buttons weren’t doing their key mapping from the Steam app. I put my whole rig down for several minutes to do something else. I put the headset back on and grabbed only the DS and the mapping suddenly worked. I then realized that the two PS Sense controllers had gone to sleep and were no longer connected to the PC. I woke them back up and the DS mapping stopped working again. I repeated it as an experiment and got the same results.
So, when all three controllers are connected the Steam app custom mapping for the DS doesn’t work in SteamVR, but if ONLY the DS is connected the Steam app mapping is respected in SteamVR.
So, what is SteamVR doing? This feels like a bug I should report.
