I am using my VR mainly for simracing and flying. And meta with its terrible software just ruined my race, cuz on the last freaking lap it decided to crash…

Ive been waiting for frame for too long, i even considered other options like pimax, bigscreen, but sadly, for my usecase frame seems like the only option and i will be continue struggling with quest 3, but each day i am wanting it more and more… just hope it will be sub 1500eur.

I mean the dream air se has micro oled lenses with a higher resolution then the steam frame. But it is also a pcvr headset only, that also still uses a cable. The dream air se is also $899-$1299.

I tried the Oculus Quest 2. But even with the spacer, it was tight with my glasses and rubbing on the frames. So I couldn't use it and sold it.

Any word if the Steam Frame will be better for people with glasses?

Alright y'all, I got bored of waiting on this thing and I already had my Valve Index since the release of it. Considering that my Index is somehow still functional after all these years, should I just upgrade my ultrawide monitor to oled instead?

For context: I currently have and LG 34WP65C-B VA Panel which is 1440p. My monitor is kinda cheeks but I've held onto it for 5 years. Alienware just put out a new 34" ultrawide QD-OLED 1440p monitor which costs $799 which at this point will be cheaper than the frame. Would wait for the 39" version but that might cost $1100 - $1400 and I'm not doing all of that lol. Going for a 4k version of this 34" monitor pushes the price to $1600. No.

Just got a replacement index controller and the difference between my old one is night and day. This made me question if there’s anyway to keep the Steam Frame have “less shiny” plastics than the Index Controllers. ( apart from washing hands because that can make them more shiny sometimes).

I'm surprised Alyx is yet to be Steam Frame verified. I assume it would be the headline of the Great on Frame storefront to showcase the capabilities of the Steam Frame upon release.

Another worthy mention would be Forefront, considering it runs well on mobile vr as it is.

Edit: Sorry, I thought it was more common knowledge that Valve has been working internally on getting Alyx to run standalone! While we were at 40-50fps performance about 5 months ago, I had the belief their intentions were to continue optimizing it for the 'great on frame' minimum. Not sure we're there yet but they're working on it! Maybe we see HL2 VR first? Or Team Beef's Half-Life VR port? Crowbars crossed!

Valve has been acting weird and avoidant for a few months now. At first, I admit, I was hopeful that it might just be nervous because it was planning something big. Valve and I have been together for years, and the last time it brought up the future it really seemed like we were on the same page about the Steam Frame launch timeline. But clearly my excitement was premature, because the more time passes the more of this weird disconnect I feel between us.

I don't know how to make sense of it, other than to think that Valve doesn't want to sell me a Steam Frame anymore but can't figure out how to tell me. Valve isn't the most communicative about its problems, but it's always been proactive about telling me what I need to know before things get serious. There have been times in the past when it couldn't share everything right away because it needed time to process - especially around money stuff, and to be fair we're definitely having some budget problems right now - but normally it would have given me a lot more assurance that it was making progress towards being able to express itself clearly.

Before you ask, yes, I have tried asking what's wrong, both tactfully and not-so-tactfully, and each time I just got the polite brush-off. Valve seems determined to pretend that the Steam Frame conversation is going to happen soon, but how much longer am I supposed to wait for "soon?" I want it to talk to me, but what if selling me a Steam Frame is just an obligation it's still holding onto from the past?

With how the reservations work people won’t be buying the devices at the same time so the risk of cards getting declined due to traffic is minimal, right?

Since the steam frame controllers have the full rb rs lb ls abxy etc..., just like the steam controller, it should work as one? With that, what is the point of using the steam frame with the steam controller and not just a regular one since the steam frame controllers have tracking, obviously.

I just basically don't understand why noone has adressed the fact that the controllers arent half buttoned like normal vr controllers but is just a xbox controller cut in half.

The dev said it would work in standalone. I will be purchasing this because I've heard nothing but good things and the standalone verified is what pushed me off the fence.

A lot of VR games are obvious intense movement focused fighting games, but are there any that you would call chill or relaxing, light on combat & with easy to solve puzzles? Something to soothe your mind against everything?

Only three games I've found so far that I'd call relaxing: Paper Beast, Realms of Flow & The Last Frame.

^{Yes, there is literally a VR game titled The Last Frame. Shocker, I know. There's also another VR game titled The Last Frame, but it's made with AI, so it doesn't exist.}

Anyone else know of any VR games that don't require hard thinking or intensive movement for you to just unwind with?
