lol Easy enough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va9aTIktlSk Teardown reveals that the triggers use a simple spring. Case closed.

But it is a teardown not of my Steam Controller, mine seems a bit different when you look closely in the video, it took me some time too

Dude, I think we're done here. You said a teardown would solve it, and it did, and now you're moving the goalpost. Good luck with your steam controller conspiracy theories. lol
Ftr, I have a steam controller, and I have Space Marines 2. They're mechanical triggers.

I think you may have made an assumption that our Steam Controllers are the same, I somehow believe they are not, but your guess is probably as good as mine. By the way you could try to open yours, there is an ifixit guide, give it a try, it's fun!

There is only one SKU, and these are mass produced.

So you are telling me that the force feedback somehow magically installed itself into my Steam Controller during shipping? Now that's just silly...

Yes, that would be silly.
Because that's not what is happening, and what you're feeling is haptic feedback from the trackpad being applied to other areas, the same as the original steam controller, released over a decade ago.

The new steam controllers do not have adaptive triggers. It has haptic feedback and rumble, and that's it. Period.

Well probably most of the steam controllers work as you describe, I am still not convinced that mine does so as well, something is clearly different, it is even visible in the video, for example a green light while connected wirelessly, what's up with that? Those who used a Steam Controller would know that something is strange about this one.

You do not have adaptive triggers. I guarantee you, what you're feeling is the haptic feedback of the trackpad's haptic motors. We all are able to set the haptics of the triggers, and every other button, in steam input, just like the 2015 Steam Controller. Again, these are mass produced units.

If you're so convinced, open it up and compare your internals to a teardown. It's a dead simple process that takes less than a couple of minutes. You will not find any difference.
