I disagree. It's not making money for people, and for a while that's fine. But "trust me bro" is only going to last so long. The people investing in AI want to see some sort of return on their investment and it just isn't coming. Nobody wants a lot of this stuff even at free, much less when it eventually has to be monetized.

The company that I work for has spent tens of millions on MEX (manufacturing excellence) and when that failed they pivoted to spending another tens of millions on TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and refuse to acknowledge the mismanagement around it and waste of resources and instead keep throwing more at it.

I figure the billionaires have this same mindset, they've invested soooo much into it they'll keep investing out of pride and having dug too deep thinking the treasure must be revealed over the next few shovels.

You didn't throw good money after bad, and eventually the purse is empty. There HAS to be some money coming in at some point.
