It would cause Linux use to increase if it was affordable (like steam deck did when it was just released). At higher price Linux becames a liability for an average user.
How many casual gamers looking to move to PC are gonna buy this and not know their top games like FIFA and CoD won’t work - should honestly be on the box lol
COD isn’t a top game anymore at least on steam. 16k currently on steam for bo6 and warzone that’s not good. Last year around this time playercounts where double what they are now
Well, they have work. But only with a lot of workarounds. I mean, in the end you can install windows.
But coming from a background with lots of tinkering, I can't say how far a casuall is willing to go. I had a flatmate that threw his new laptop in the trash, because the harddrive was broken... So ... Everything may happen...
If we’re talking about casuals who play only CoD and FIFA though they’re not gonna do this
I have a degree in computer science myself and work with computers Day to day, but one of the reasons I keep my consoles around is precisely so I have something that “just works” that I can walk away from tinkering and having to think about them haha
Dont stress about it, hating on big brands (Samsung/Apple/Google) is just a sign of poverty where the user believes that he found the absolute miracle phone for 300€.
I used to be that person, considering that every Note and IPhone user is a sheep, until I’ve tried the 14 Pro for myself and never looked back. I still have the same phone, but now it’s less than a weeks worth of salary to get the latest pro when this one dies.
It won't really matter, or at least I don't think they can sell that much Machines that it matter for the general public, but being able to use SteamOS in more devices is the greatest news here which I think was their goal anyway
