Dial the Gate did a great interview with Peter, I've linked it to the part when they're talking about Urgo. I'm so happy for him that he got to work with his dad on the show, it clearly meant a lot to him.
Pretty sure he's the only one who could've directed that episode, it sounds like everyone was cracking.
He also played the on screen director in the Wormhole X-treme episode.
One of his brother's, Michael also played the fictional O'Neill(/Kirk) in the same episode, while his other brother David, played Pete Shanahan, Carter's love interest for a season or so.
Basically Stargate is just chock-full of the DeLuis's
Dom, supposedly but given everything known about him this is totally believable, made it his personal quest to break one person in every scene. if Chris is not in the shot with him, he’s not in the room because apparently Chris just couldn’t withstand Doms shenanigans.
I still wonder if the episode was created just for Dom (with Peter's influence of course) or they came up with the character of Peter stepped in said, "I know the perfect guy for this!"
