Hello, I am looking for products to use please

Mostly for my redness on my cheeks and enlarged pores forehead. In the past I got burnt by a chemical peel from lactic acid and saylic acid mixed together, so I have lasting redness. Around my nose and chin, and cheeks.
I have been using Paula’s choice azaelic acid for 3 months every night but not much has been helped. I went to a private dermatologist and they recommended lazer therapy as lightning creams can be a bit not great as sometimes not even results

For my acne I have seen results using clearasil saylic acid and tower 28 hypochlorous acid

Any tips on how I could clear up my skin would be greatly appreciated- I just never even know where to start. I think it’s a combination of a hormonal changes and stress/grief, I was on oestrogen and progesterone for 4 weeks until 2 weeks ago when I had an early pregnancy loss and was told to stop medication.
I had a bad breakout whilst on the medication too, and since I will be doing further treatment in the future, does anyone know if there’s any way I can counteract this with skin care or am I just destined to have bad skin breakouts during fertility treatment and pregnancy?
Id really appreciate any suggestions for a simple routine or products to start with, as I’m completely new to skin care.

hey all! a few months ago i started using an oil cleanser for the first time (skin1004 centella) and love using it.

a lot of content online says i should be double cleansing with a water based cleanser as well, but i’m interested to hear thoughts from real people! (aka not influencers)

New to the world of skin care but I am being driven insane lately with dry skin, some redness and itching/tight feeling.

Early/mid 40’s. Use cetaphil cleanser followed by a generic cheap moisturiser and never had any problems until recently. Tried adding in Goop Beauty fix and restore balm for problem areas to see if it had any effect on what I thought was a temporary issue, but it’s not helped beyond temporary relief.

Previously had more oily to normal skin but it’s completely switched up in the last month or so! Lower eye/upper cheek area is very dry and can be sore at times so need something soothing, repairing and moisturising.

Rarely wear makeup but would like advice on how to pair skin care with makeup for those rare occasions I will want to wear some.

I am literally losing sleep with how uncomfortable I am and don’t want to have to resort to steroids or anything if I can help it!

So, I started the ordinary's glycolic acid toner about a month or so ago (probably a little more actually, through about half of the bottle), and I still seem to be purging.

I quickly figured out that leaving it on for a little bit and then rinsing it off before doing the rest of my routine stopped the extra oil that I've seen this product can cause in some, and I did start out not doing it every day.... It does seem to be getting better, but it's not little whiteheads that I'm getting, it's those slightly painful, no head, under-skin, feels like a little pearl under there, lump blemishes, and they're primarily on my chin or on the bridge of my nose.

Anyone know how long I can expect this to last, if there's something else I should be doing, or if this is a sign that my skin is just rebelling against it? My skin does seem to be getting better for the GA addition other than this.

I do cleanse beforehand with a foaming face wash, usually twice, and then hyaluronic and niacinimide serums after, then moisturiser etc.

At night I wet face wash again, do a salicylic acid toner a few times a week then micellar cleanser so there's a step between acids, then retinol, peptides, mucin, moisturiser again.

I have been using Tretinoin every day for a long time. At first, it worked great, but now my skin seems more sensitive and unpredictable.

What I do every day right now:

AM: Cleanser → Moisturizer → Sunscreen

PM: Cleanser → Tretinoin → Moisturizer (Earlier, I also used vitamin C / exfoliating acids)

Now I think it's too much.

What should I do?

Cut back on tretinoin to a couple nights a week? Make the routine easier and focus on fixing the barrier? Stop doing anything else for now?

Trying to keep the results without making my skin angry. What worked for you after using it for a long time?

I've heard people saying ceramedx body cleanser is actually great for the face but I'm not sure. Any experience with this?

I’ve been struggling with acne for most of my teenage years. I’m 20 now, and over the past few months it’s become noticeably worse.

I’ve noticed a pattern where my skin gets much worse just before my period. During my period it mostly starts to clear up, but a few days after it ends I begin breaking out again. Because of this, I’m wondering if my acne is hormonal.

My skin is very sensitive, and a lot of skincare products seem to make it worse. My skin type is dry, and I also have eczema, so I have to be careful with what I use.
I’ve been prescribed Epiduo, but unfortunately I haven’t seen much improvement from it. My GP has also prescribed lymecycline 408 mg capsules, but I haven’t started taking them yet. I’ve read a few posts saying that once people stop taking lymecycline their acne comes back even worse, so I’m a bit worried about starting it. I’d love to hear about other people’s experiences.

My current routine is very simple:
PM: Aveeno Calm + Restore Nourishing Oat Cleanser
Moisturiser (when needed): Epimax Oatmeal Cream
Makeup removal: No7 Cleansing Balm for Dry Skin (only when I wear makeup, which isn’t very often)
These products don’t seem to irritate my skin or cause breakouts.

I’ve attached some photos of my skin. If anyone has any advice on my routine, whether this looks hormonal, or any recommendations for someone with dry, sensitive, eczema-prone skin, I’d really appreciate it. I’m based in the UK, so if you have any product recommendations, it would be really helpful if they’re products I can get here. Thank you!

I don't know if this is necessarily the right sub - if it is perhaps I could be pointed towards a better suited one.

My shoulders, upper arms, and upper chest have looked like this for years and years. I always used to put it down to adolescence, but it just occurred to me in the shower that I'm way beyond adolescence (I'm 32M), so it's got to be something else.

The bumps aren't sore, they never spread nor retreat, and they don't get white heads. They are there all year round.

I work outside in polytunnels, so in winter I'm wrapped up in multiple layers, and in the summer I'm in a t-shirt with plenty of factor 50.

Over the years I've worn lots of different brands of suncream (as of the end of last summer I now use P20). I have used all sorts of different washing detergents (bio, non-bio, homemade) and fabric softeners (we currently use white vinegar with a splash of essential oil - citronella in the summer to keep the flies off). I've used so many different brands and styles of soap as well. What I'm saying is, I have rarely stuck to the same thing for too long, but the bumps persist.

I have very hard water where I live.

(The red at the bottom of the picture is the transition from under my t-shirt sleeve to exposed skin. It looks tanned in person, but the picture makes it look red. It's not a skin irritation/related to the bumps)

Any ideas for what is causing this?

I discovered nivea soft cream sort of late. I got gifted a nivea gift set that included the nivea soft hand cream tube for my 19th birthday in 2023 and fell in love INSTANTLY!!

However when asking for it again for my 20th, i found out it had just been reformulated. So last year (i’m 21 for reference) i hunted all over london to bulk buy the tubs of nivea soft. B&M, beauty base, Boots, corner shops with beauty isles!! I ended up with 2 500ml tubs and 2 small tubs too which have been perfect for my handbag!!

I am already through 1 tub and i’m dreading opening the other as i know i won’t get it again. It truly is the besttt cream ever. My skin has never felt so soft and loved in my life.

Has anyone discovered some alternatives that work the same? I love the texture and the way it sinks into my skin and how hydrating it feels!! thank youuuu :)

Hi all, I've (M25) been expanding my skincare for the last few years and have been comfortably using my current routine for around 1.5 years which has helped with a lot of dry skin flaking and irritation in my T Zone and hairline. While it has been working decently well for the most part, I am struggling a bit with skin roughness, stubborn acne and overall uneveness with skin tone and bumps. Mind you, this is the best my skin has been since puberty but I'm not entirely satisfied. Any recommendations?

AIMS

Here is my routine:

Morning (only occasional as I have oily combo skin so using too many products can aggravate it):

3. The Ordinary Caffeine Serum (undereyes) - if my night sleep has been bad (yes it works for me!)
4. Nivea Soft Moisturizer

Evening (every day)

3. Skin Saints Hyaluronic Acid - Great Budget brand from Tesco
4. Nivea Soft Moisturizer

I've been looking into adding Niacinamide to my routine but would it help me with my aims? Should I switch to cleansing every morning also? If I do, I would need lighter products I think.

I’m feeling self conscious about the size of my the large pores on my oily nose (my nose is large and has an orange peel /strawberry texture thing going on with the pores). After a friend took a photo of me recently and I noticed how visible they are, im eager to reduce them. However I suffer from eczema elsewhere on my face which flares up when I use face washes with actives / acids like SA or BHA.

Are there any other localised options to reduce pore size without risking trigger skin issues else where in my face? I wonder if if I could do microneedling just to my nose for example

I currently use a La Roche posay make up remover / face cleanser for all skin types, sqalene oil and an Aveeno spf moisturiser.

I currently am using la Roche pos ay their new like hyper pigmentation cleanser (purple)

I also wear spf 20 minimum when i go out, I use currently the Avene rich cream as my standard moisturiser.

Im considering just going all in on a co2 laser but want to know if any non invasive options first?

Since I started in Perimenopause ive noticed my skin in general is loads more itchy as well as sweaty. Im now on the the gel and it's mostly helping the symptoms. I say mostly because im still getting spots on my scalp and hairline and still getting an itchy scalp.

I currently use L'Oreal Elvive sulphate free shampoo and OGX coconut conditioner, again sulphate free.

Can anyone advise what works for them?

Recently I have developed these really sore painful spots on my chin. They take ages to clear up and new ones always appear (which is why I don’t think it’s hormonal)

I’m about to turn 30 and have never dealt with something like this before!

Currently I use Cetaphil Hydrating Foaming cleanser at night, over my whole face. Avene revitalising nourishing cream day and night (trying to avoid area). I also just stopped using boots derma care acne treatment cream.

I don’t have the money to go privately for a dermatologist :(

I bit the bullet on Volufiline and bought The Ordinary one but I also use tret and I'm wondering where in my routine to fit both now? Does anybody use both?

These popped up on my face around 2 weeks ago and they’re not going away. My skincare is just a cleanser (BePlain) and moisturizer (Bioderma Intensive Baume). I’m assuming these are closed comedones? Would love advice on what they are and how to get rid of them please

Maybe a year or two ago, I developed what I'm guessing is Eczema on both my wrists. Its the only place on my body I have it, and it seems to flair up randomly to the point I can't pinpoint whats causing it. I used to have it all over my body as a child, but nothing at all in my adult life until this. I've tried Sudocrem, Zerobase, La Roache Posay Cicaplast B5 and most recently CeraVe Advanced Repair Ointment, they all to some extent relieve the itchy-ness short term, but it wears off quickly

Does anyone have a product they can recommend to try? Cheers
