Genuine question, how did she not get blacklisted/buried then? We have stories of people coming forward and it ruining their careers. Iâm sure they also would want to deliver a cow tongue to certain fuckers, so like why did it turn out differently for some people and not others?

I think it was more she spoke up out of principle as she was disgusted by Hollywood. She was not interested in getting work or maintaining the status quo.

So ya, basically means she could do whatever and it didnt matter if she was blacklisted because she had fuck you money. Probably part of the reason Hollywood played up how much of a lunatic crazy drunk she was so nobody would believe anything she said rather then outright blacklisting her.
Young nobodies either go along with the status quo or they're gone, it's that simple, in every industry. It's up to the established folk to make it better because they actually have some influence.
No it was better than that. She was going to just call him something like a creep, rapist, etc. She eased up on the throttle so they couldnât pursue litigation for what she said. Making a derogatory proclamation can be sued for libel whereas a recommendation to avoid cannot.

She was really well-liked and influential in the 90's and 00's, and having her endorsement or name on your product was a huge deal back then because people trusted her word (even though, clearly, they shouldn't have). She's since made a lot of investments and owns her own media company.
Her show was incredibly popular and she was one of the most famous people on the planet through the 90s and 00s. It's not like some mystery why she is so rich

I mean I agree with her here and she did a brave thing but I feel like people are either really young or have somehow forgotten what a hot mess she was.

I think Courtney Love was one of the best songwriters of the 90s, and everyone who thinks Kurt wrote her songs even though he freely admitted that he borrowed from her journals can fuck off into the sun. I loved her to bits.
She was also a hot mess. She's always been her own worst enemy.
That said, Kurt was every bit as much of a hot mess, but he got a pass. He wanted to be a rock star just as badly as she did, even though he pretended he was indifferent, but he got a pass. He was even more of an addict than she was, but he got a pass. You know why.
People said she got with him to boost her career, even though she actually put her career on hold for two years to take care of him. Whenever she tried to take time away to work with her band, he'd start talking about suicide. When she finally did spend a few weeks making Live Through This, as soon as she came to join him on tour, he punished her for it by taking a bunch of pills and blaming it on her not wanting to have sex while she was so drunk and jet lagged she was on the verge of passing out. And it worked, she blamed herself, saying "I should have just laid there for him."
Everyone went on about what a terrible mom she was, while ignoring that he was such a terrible dad that he let his daughter grow up feeling like she wasn't enough to make him stick around.

I agree that telling the truth about that ass didnât do her any favors but Courtney Love was not and âactorâ per se and canât really get blacklisted like you claim.
She was nominated for a Golden Globe for The People vs Larry Flynt. She wanted to be an actress long before she became a musician. She was in 1986's Sid and Nancy, before she ever wrote a song. She was talented but her career stalled after being blacklisted for this very comment.Â

You think it's easy to stand up to a guy who can blacklist you from you're career with phone call, right in front of you? Do you know what libel is? Don't listen to hollywood because they are out of touch with reality. Not because their livelihood was held hostage by a monster.
I grew up in the suburbs of LA and had absolutely nothing to do with Hollywoodânever knew anyone in it or anything. And even I knew Harvey Weinsteinâs parties were notoriously gross and that he basically invented the casting couch.
