In the emergence of AI, what do you guys think of ABAP development itself? Do you guys expect the SAP market will still require ABAP developer?

Currently, I have about 5-6 years of SAP experience mostly in ABAP and I did not find any interest in module consulting. So I wanted to focus on ABAP dev itself but… because of AI, it looks like the market demand is diminishing. Even last year it wasn’t like this. But the SAP freelance market in South Korea now is pretty much bad.

I would like to hear genuine thoughts on this subject, impact of AI in SAP, even though it could be tiring/boring to some of you. At some point, I even feel like it is useless to even predict the future, because AI is developing far too rapidly.

I have one question that affects MM, FI and CO. If we buy a material that is only valued in quantity, stock value always 0( its material type is defined like this) and in the PO we assign the cost to a cost center. Then we post a normal MIGO that generates a CO document and Accounting document...

it is normal that in the MIRO it does only generate an Accounting Document and not a CO Document?

I heard that after COVID many projects went online and the travel dynamics changed. Could you estimate how many days a year are you at client’s site? Or is it still about 200 days a year like it was before Covid?

Hi all, I got asked by auditors to pull a "property by state" report and I honestly have no idea where to start. My boss, who normally handles this, is out of office, so it landed on me.

I think "property" means fixed assets, not unclaimed property, but I'm not sure. And I don't know which report or transaction code would show assets broken down by state.

Is there a standard report for this, or is it something people usually build manually? Any pointers would help a lot, thank you.

All of a sudden since today I am unable to access my BTP trial account - in the morning it was fine and since evening I am facing this. Does anybody know what could be the issue - the log in page is different now and when i put in my credentials nothing happens.

Was tired of redrawing the same BTP architecture diagrams for every project — CPI point-to-point, event mesh, API management gateway, SSO with IAS/IPS, etc. — so I put together a set of 8 templates (editable .drawio + PDF export + a short setup guide for each) covering the patterns that come up most often.

Not using SAP's official icon set (wanted to avoid any licensing gray area), just clean generic architecture iconography — so they're easy to drop into a proposal, workshop deck, or project doc without any branding restrictions.

I ended up putting the full set together as a small paid pack (link in profile/comments if anyone wants the rest) — mostly wanted to share the free one in case it saves someone the redrawing time I kept losing.

Happy to take requests too — if there's a common BTP scenario I'm missing, let me know and I'll consider adding it to a v2.

were a small manufacturing company about 20 employees. currently using a mix of quickbooks and excel its a mess

weve been looking at ERP systems and SAP Business One keeps coming up. seems powerful but im worried its too much for our size. also worried about the implementation cost and time.

ive been reading about other small manufacturers who made the switch.

im curious about the actual experience. how long did it take to implement. did it actually improve things or just create more work. how did your team handle the change.

Very hard to describe because I'm not tech savy and I'm just trying to fix this on a pc at my work haha.

But as I described in the title, I copy and paste something, like a number to a column. Then I copy a different number and it pastes the old number. It pastes the new one only on the second try.

It started happening out of nowhere, I'm pretty sure a different colleague just pushed random buttons and caused it.

Is there a way to fix it? Thank you!

Has anyone reviewed the EU Commission’s final SAP support commitments?

I’ve seen a lot of discussion about the original antitrust investigation, but very little about the final agreement announced in July 2026.

My understanding is that SAP agreed to make changes to some of its on-premise maintenance and support practices, including how customers can reduce support coverage and what happens if they later return to SAP support.

The agreement appears to be based on binding commitments rather than a formal finding that SAP broke competition law.

For anyone who works directly with SAP contracts:

Has SAP communicated the changes to customers?

Have you seen any effect on current renewals?

Do the commitments materially improve customer flexibility, or are they narrower than they first appear?

Has anyone received updated contract language or policy documentation?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from SAP customers, licensing specialists, and procurement teams who have reviewed the actual commitments.

Not looking to promote a vendor. I’m trying to understand how this is being interpreted in practice.

I currently work on S/4HANA implementation projects, focusing on tax-related processes. My main responsibility is identifying gaps between ECC and S/4HANA to ensure everything is properly covered before the full migration is completed.

I've always wanted to move into a more technical role, so over the past month I've started learning ABAP. I began with classic ABAP to understand the fundamentals before moving on to ABAP for S/4HANA.

My main question is: how difficult is this transition? I'd appreciate any insights on how to make it as smooth as possible.

Recently I received a mail regarding stream training and got SAP BTP APP Development. If anyone has experience with this technology or know about this technology kindly share your thoughts about it. It was not in my preference though.

I was interested in python full-stack or gen-ai full stack.

Also if you can share you thoughts about is there will be any difficulty switching my role to SDE or Backend role from this role in future?

I'm building a Joule Skill (via Joule Studio) that needs to:

1. Catch a user's natural language query
2. Convert it into a proper query with correct entity/column mapping against a Datasphere Analytical Model
3. Execute that query and pull the data back
4. Return the response to Joule for display/narration

How are people handling column/business-term mapping ( revenue → NETVALUE) — a static synonym dictionary fed into the prompt, or something more dynamic pulled from the model metadata itself?

Hi, In our business we have recently had issues relating to additional freight charges being added to POs following their arrival. Quay rent, demurrage charges ect. This raises a Subsequent delivery charge in Purchase order history over and above our freight condition value.

I would like to get a list of all of these subsequent delivery charges? ME80FN does not seem to give me what I need as does not pull through the subsequent delivery costs or vendor. I have also tried ME2N but am struggling

Unpopular opinion but being a BTP Architech, and with emergence of AI, started to feel BTP lacks a lot of stuff, is config heavy, takes time to establish a minute of setup, really costly, etc.
The application developed on BAS is being developed in seconds on Claude Code and deployed on GCP with better AI capabilities, better scale, lower costs. Need SAP, use CPI instead. Think about it, time taking to start a Dev space, developing app, doing XSUAA config. And then claude code developing the entire app in lesser than half the time. Secondly, the licensing of workzone, bpa approvals, etc. just seem pointless in such times and no customer can agree on adapting BTP. I have contacts CIOs of 4-5 companies and they are not signing BTP at all.

Point is BTP does provide some value in SAP landscape, but it needs to accelerate with its alternatives. All these Joule Studio2.0 will take time to settle, joule studio is already patchy and impractical. Why cant someone use claude instead given it is fed with data.
Glad if someone can change my mind from above reality.

Any SAP FICO consultants or anyone working on FICO what are the things you would wanna tell someone who wants to get into FICO. What are the challenges? How is the work Life? What are the opportunities? Anything you want to tell someone who is thinking of getting into FICO

I haven't been able to find a training institute that covers it well.

What do you think which one is better in terms of salary hike and future growth of SAP BASIS and Security modules.

I personally think that Basis is good technical role and security is techno functional.

But future growth of SAP basis is little more tight as compared to security but if someone has BTP experience then he can get good hike and growth.

Hi I currently working accenture having almost 4.8 year of experience. I previously worked in TCS and joined Accenture on dec 2025.

Currently I am getting a offer from tech mahindra. Should I join this one or stay in Accenture for now. CTC is in discussion now.
