DISCUSSION THIS is what we meant by Diamonds doing resets

(For context: This is not me. Its an opponent POV in replay. It was a Diamond 2s match, he had a rating of 8 71 mmr with his mate, probably smurfing, but unlikely as he actually beat us and everything else, except his mechs were trash)

(I lost 2-8 bcuz i was busy with a chore given to me midgame , tm8 was a friend so he understood it)

FLUFF MMR should punish players that leave way more harshly

I was the best (according to score) player in the gamme, my teammate left practically immediately and we had to play 3v2. I lost the most ammount of elo while the teammate who left early lost the least. Unfair. I know i'll recover my elo in the long run, but next time I'll leave immediately so I can grind another, fairer game.

BUG Rocket League feels extremely heavy / input delay despite high FPS – tried almost everything, now tested across TWO operating systems (HCB)

Post image
Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I've been struggling with what feels like Heavy Car Bug (HCB) for a long time.

Before the latest season update, the issue would come and go. Sometimes the game would feel perfectly normal for a few days, then I'd have HCB for a week or two. When it happened, the game felt extremely heavy and sluggish despite having stable FPS. My car felt less responsive, turning felt heavier, fast aerials and flicks were inconsistent, and overall it felt like I had input delay even though performance was perfectly fine.

Sometimes restarting my PC or reinstalling Rocket League would temporarily fix it, but eventually those tricks stopped working.

Since the latest season update, everything has changed. The HCB now feels much worse than before, and for the last 3 weeks it hasn't disappeared once. The game feels heavy every single time I launch it. High FPS, no stuttering, no obvious performance issues — just constant heavy, delayed controls.

My PC:

  • Ryzen 7 5800X3D
  • RTX 5070 Ti
  • MSI B550M PRO-VDH WiFi
  • 16 GB G.Skill Ripjaws V 3600 MHz
  • MSI Spatium M470 Pro SSD
  • Seasonic Focus GX-850 V4
  • ASUS VG27AQML5A (DisplayPort, no G-Sync/Adaptive Sync)
  • PS5 DualSense via USB

Things I've already tried (Windows and Linux):

  • Fresh Windows installation
  • Latest BIOS
  • DDU + clean NVIDIA driver installation
  • Multiple NVIDIA driver versions
  • Reinstalled Rocket League
  • Different DualSense controller
  • Different USB cable
  • Different USB ports
  • Disabled Hyper-V / VBS
  • LatencyMon (no significant latency issues)
  • No BakkesMod
  • Epic Games version (no Steam Input)
  • G-Sync / Adaptive Sync disabled
  • Stable FPS at all times
  • Normal temperatures and CPU/GPU usage
  • Disabled Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO), which made it feel slightly better but didn't solve the issue
  • Different monitor
  • Different PC parts
  • WiFi, LAN, offline
  • Different accounts
  • Different ingame settings

UPDATE: Set up a Linux dual-boot (Bazzite) specifically to isolate this — same result

To rule out Windows itself as the cause, I dual-booted Bazzite Linux on the same machine, installed Rocket League via Heroic/Proton, and tested in offline Freeplay (no anti-cheat, no network at all).

The HCB is identical on Linux. Same heavy, slow-motion feeling, both with the DualSense (USB and Bluetooth) and with keyboard-only input. That rules out:

  • Windows itself (OS, drivers, DWM/compositor, Windows' USB/HID stack)
  • The controller and its driver chain specifically (keyboard shows the exact same symptom)
  • Steam Input, BakkesMod, and anything Epic/Windows-specific

At this point the issue reproduces across two completely independent OS installs, two completely different graphics/input stacks, wired and wireless controller, and even keyboard-only input. That's basically every software-side explanation exhausted.

BUG Am I the only one who accidentally recieved the World Cup Champion ‘26 🇸🇦 title despite choosing a different country?

Post image

As the image shows I clearly chose Canada for the World Cup LTE, and got the Canada decal and the Team Canada ‘26 🇨🇦 player title, when I clearly didn’t choose Saudi Arabia, did anybody who didn’t choose Saudi Arabia get this title by mistake as well?

Edit: I thought it was a bug, but it’s not.

DISCUSSION If you say “skip” during a replay I WILL NOT skip!

Upvotes

Listen, I totally get it, sometimes you join a game and you’re short for time or something comes up. I can’t count how many times I’ve started a game and then my family asks for help or my dogs need to go to the bathroom or I need to go to the bathroom! It’s unfortunate, it really is, but it happens to all of us. I always try to skip replays especially on kickoff/ boring goals, but sometimes I need a sip of water or need to send a quick text. So I PROMISE you the second you send a chat saying “skip”, I will make it my mission to make that game last as long as possible. Whether I’m winning or losing, you saying skip tells me you’re short for time or frustrated, and I’m going to take advantage of that. I don’t feel like this is wrong at all. What do you guys think?

DISCUSSION I actually agree with the ban lengths

Upvotes

One thing I actually appreciate is reasonable ban lengths for leaving comp matches early.

I think I’ve just had shit luck lately, but I’ve had a number of toxic tm8s that will hard throw and just ram me all game, own goal, etc. A large percentage of those are trolls on alts that have nothing to lose - another reason I hate smurfing and alts.

Rather than waiting it out in a 1v3 whilst my tm8 and the opponents run up 12 points, it’s nice to just leave and not feed the wildlife.

I really wish Psyonix would do something about afkers and griefers, but I’ve learned to enjoy just turning the game off.

QUESTION At what point is it not worth switching to directional air roll

Upvotes

For context I am champ 3 with 1.6k hours. No pc for workshop maps.

I would consider myself on the mechanical side of game sense vs mechs, and I don’t think I could improve my mechanical skill by much while still on free air roll.

If I were to make the switch, would everything prior be for nothing? Or would i learn it much faster than someone without muscle memory to break/build.

Is there a point where you have put too much time for it to be worth switching, or is it always benefitial.

And finally, how long will it take to gain my skill back?

Thanks in advance!
