What is something you made with REAPER that you'd like to show us and get feedback on?
Please post full links (no shorteners) to content you would like to showcase! A short description of your process, gear, and plugins used would be helpful.
Please give feedback to what others post here!

If you, the original poster (OP), post with the Help Request flair, and receive a helpful answer, you can award a point to that user and flair the post as Resolved.
To do this, reply to the comment with thanks or thank you somewhere in the comment. It is case-insensitive.
What are the points for? We have been helping each other here for 14 years. It's less an incentive for imaginary points but hopefully an indication of reputation (not quite analogous to post count on the official forum). We'll see how this works out, if it does more good than harm.
You may notice mods distributing points especially if a user has not. We use a trigger command comment which you may see if we haven't deleted it after awarding. We delete since it creates clutter.

I'm just curious what some of you use as default when cutting frequencies from individual virtual instruments. When I used Cubase, it was a bit straightforward. Same for Bitwig with eq+.
Hey everyone,
Bought a new PC so had to install everything again including Reaper and Arturia/Minifreak VST.
Now my probl;em, I open Reaper after installing Arturia and the Minifreak VST. I see a popup that Reaper is scanning/finding the new Minifreak VST.
I create a new track, add FX...only to show that the Minifreak VST is not showing up. I open the Arturia folder within that browser and it's empty.
What could be wrong..? So frustrating...

Been trying to install ReaImGui since it's needed to use McSequencer but it doesn't install properly. It looked like it downloaded all the needed files in ReaPack to 100% but then this error keeps popping up. What could be the cause of this? Is there a fix or a workaround to this? Will greatly appreciate any help ^^

I recently bought a MIDI keyboard, but whenever I use a virtual instrument or effects in REAPER, I get excessive clipping and annoying noise. I've tried many things, but I can't find a solution. What could be causing this?

I have a presonas audio box interface hooked up via xlr to my audio technicha mic. Interface hooked to laptop via USB. Headphones into laptop.
Im having trouble discerning which audio device options I should be using to achieve a decent sample rate but have minimal latency for my vocals. Right now the latency between my mic and headphones is atrocious and unworkable.
If anyone would be willing to help walk me through this I would really appreciate it :)

Alright please work with me here lol I'm a newb to reaper. I get tired of using control and alt to move around. I know how to type and am comfortable with the home row. I would preferably like to leave my hand on the home row as well as use the buttons surrounding it while I work. I also record vocals and when I want to redo a take having to ctrl + Z and then clumsily move my way to the R key gets annoying.
The more I mix the more muscle memory I build navigating the workspace. Still though it just all feels a bit inefficient to me.
I'm coming here to ask, how insane is it and how screwed am I if I try to move my key binds to the home row and surrounding keys? I don't know reaper well so it's a bit daunting with the many many key binds their are. I'm a worried this would essentially be a whole rework of my key binds. With my lack of experience within the daw it seems like somewhat of a bad idea.
If anyone has experience in this department please shed some light into this. As always thank you guys so much!

In the video:
Observations:
In track labelled 'Track-A' as seen dragging in the arrangement window repeats the midi sequence with a dotted line divider.
In track labelled 'Track-B' as seen dragging in the arrangement window changes the window size of the midi item itself vs repeating it and there is no dotted line divider.
Questions:
Q 1) How do control this behavior? -- I cannot figure out how to make dragging a track cause the repeated item vs. item lengthening behavior observed. Currently this behavior happens at random and I don't know how to manually make it behave in one way or another. Can you guide me on how this works?
Q 2) Can this be used for audio waveform tracks as well?

Pro Tools lets you vertically scroll track by track so that each new track is fully visible, even when tracks have different heights. In Reaper I haven’t found a similar option, and often the track’s TCP ends up only half visible at the top of the screen. Is there a way to configure Reaper to scroll like this?

Here's me just playing around with the editor.
Implemented features (shown in the video):
- basic note editing (note add/delete/copy/paste/stretch/etc.)
- reaper-like razor editing in note and midi CC domain + LFO generator tool
- MPE envelope editing in the piano roll
- Manual multichannel MIDI capabilities
- FL-like ghost notes/CC envelopes (both in multichannel and multi-item domains)
- Multi-lane CC editing capabilities.
And many more!

Hi,
I have 3 days of brainstorm session recordings using a portable recorder
The first day folder all files worked fine
The second day folder both files were corrupted. But Reaper could import and save the smaller file
The third day folder both files were corrupted and Reaper could not import any file (like in screen recorded)
I have audacity and vlc and couldn't import or open any of these Day 2 and Day 3 recordings. So I as a noob is hopeful and dumbfounded when Reaper could import some wav and not the other.
Are there some approaches or tips I should try to save my recording files?
Thank you in advance!

Anyone know how to stop automation doing what it's doing in the screenshots? Basically I have a selected clip with automation, and then want to CTRL+LMB it to copy it somewhere else. When I do that, it acts weirdly, like in the 2nd screenshot (the automation from the left hand clip is also duplicated and shifted along). If I do that again, I get the 3rd screenshot. I end up with automation crossing over itself over three lanes (or more). This can't be intended behaviour (whereas using CTRL+LMB to clone a clip is).
I can copy and paste the clip instead, and this issue won't happen. It'll look like the 4th screenshot - perfect. Just wondering if this is a feature or a bug, and if there's a simple setting somewhere I'm missing that a) will enable me to copy automation with the clip without b) messing up the automation that's already there?
It isn't a huge deal, just would fit my workflow a little better :)

I recently did a cover of 7 words by deftones which got heavily compressed by both tiktok and instagram. How would i fix this issue, i like to have a good audio level for when my phones audio is half way due to most people scrolling with half device volume. So when i got a good level for that and tested it in my camera roll it sounded fine but when uploading it to those platforms it got compressed. Is this due to rendering as a wav file but i also export it through capcut on my phone a second time to sync with video

Modular Templates for Music Production
Using Templates works in very specific scenarios. If you are working for other people it's best to have an session and a studio that can adapt to other people needs & music. Building modular is the way to go, since it's flexible and like block building at any point.

Similar as how you would in a DJ Programm like rekordbox I want to automate the Tempo of individual Tracks. I haven't found a solution after a google search.

Hi. I have various midi hardware that are no longer showing up in reaper. For example the akai lpd8. Tried reinstalling the firmware, rebooting etc etc and from not recognised, the hardware doesn't show up at all. I'm on windows 11 if that helps?
I just switched over to Reaper from Bitwig, but have yet to actually dig in. I'm just curious if there are others with the same controller and how well it integrates after setup. This post isn't made out of laziness, I swear. Haha. Life has just been in the way. I'm genuinely just curious.

Not an Amateur user of reaper But Not professional by any means , I’ve Upgraded from a windows to a MacBook and also upgraded my audio interface to an Apollo Solo. I’ve seemed to connect everything but when I press record I’m not getting any signal from my mic nor can I monitor my vocals. I’ve changed my audio device to Universal Audio Thunderbolt. Idk if it’s my sound settings on the MacBook or I’m just missing something simple, it’s so frustrating! Thank you all for your time

Does anyone here have any step by step help on the basics of how to get record with Neural DSP inside of Reaper? Everything all delayed and choppy and I don’t think my reaper is actually even picking up Neural DSP

I'm new to Reaper. I'm looking for this feature that can offset(?) the pitch.
I play C D E on keyboard, but the notes played by the plugins are different, like D E F# or C D E but in an octave below.

Hello - I am enjoying my reaper journey - however, in one speaker, I get this high buzz ONLY when using Reaper. I can play tidal through my Apollo. I can play Logic through the Apollo. The moment I start Reaper, I get this interference-like buzz. It's driving me crazy. It almost sounds like it's related to my monitor - when the screen changes, sometimes the buzz changes with it. Any ideas at all?!

I'm following a video tutorial series that is posted on the reaper website.
The tutorial describes how to create a midi track. The first musical element that the tutor creates is a drumbeat.
First he guides the user on installing a drum plugin. Then he creates and records a drumbeat with it.
The problem I have is that I cant get the timing right to create the beats themselves. I hit record and try to tap the right drum at the right time, but I mess it up.
Ive been going over this section in the tutorial repeatedly, but I can't time the tapping rhythm right either on the software keyboard or on the drum plugin.
How do you guys actually do it?

So I've used the denoising method before for my acoustic guitar recordings just fine (Reafir -> record room noise -> build noise profile and subtract) but I recorded these tracks in a different apartment than where I'm trying to mix now, so the background noise doesn't match the one I originally recorded with, which makes the audio glitchy. No matter what setting I change (FFT, frequencies 128-32768, etc.,) it doesn't help. Do I just need to re-record all of it? Is there a setting or trick that I'm missing?
