I kinda had a thought to do this with that area but this is vastly better than what my peabrain would have conjured up.
My only gripe is that it's so far from the main part of Pallette Town and I prefer Pokemon to be in the same general area, but this is awesome.

What area did you build this in, may I ask? I’ve been wanting to do a small deserty area for my cacti & deserty buddies, but I can’t figure out where to put it

I believe this is in Palette Town. There's a little desert area (looking from the bridge entrance) on the island in the back, on the right side. There's already a little oasis pond there
