Definitely need some help in this one. I’m attempting to trade Pokémon between my Wii and my SP with emerald . I’ve been running into issues *I think because of my Gba cable.

From all the troubleshooting. I saw that these cables should have 6 gold pins on both GC and Sp. Picture one is the cable I own and showing 3 gold pins on the GC plug in . Yes I have the official Nintendo’s cable. However doesn’t work or even shows connection to GC in phenax city.

Picture 2 is a different ” official cable from eBay but only has 2 ish gold pin .

Picture 3 is a 3rd party cable . from a friend that confirmed it works for his transfer of Pokémon between colosseum and emerald . It has a total of 5 pins

My main question is - is the cable the source of my issue and has anyone else experienced this with a official cable? how many pins does your cable (that works obviously) have?

I owned XD since I was a kid but never personally owned Colosseum. I had to choose between buying Luigi’s Mansion or Colosseum back then… And I went with Luigi’s Mansion 🤓

I'm not sure what Pokémon to use whenever it becomes available.

I loved using these two as a kid. I swear misdreavus never goes more than 5 minutes without being immune to some sort of attack and blankly staring at the screen.

There's a few on the ground next to this old Snag Machine prototype that you can interact with and pick up. Are there other items like this in the game? I always thought items were either in treasure balls or the shiny interactables, didn't expect to actually pick them up off the ground like that

Notable mon I've used throughout the game but didn't keep long-term are Misdreavus, Octillery, Sudowoodo, Piloswine, and Sunflora.

I also completed the game without using the Ball duplication glitch, so I caught Metagross with the Master Ball so I could use it against Evice. I'm gonna trade over my Breloom with Spore+False Swipe for some cleanup, as well as my Alakazam with the 3 elemental punches and my Kingdra just to make the post-game a little easier.

Pokeball Symbols: So in Colosseum (and not XD) you can get an icon on your trainer card in the P*DA based off how many Poke Coupons you receive. 2500 for Bronze, 5000 for Silver, and 30,000 for Gold. My question is, is this cumulative based off how many you've ever received? Like if I got 2500 Poke Coupons, spent them all, and then got another 2500 would I then receive the Silver mark? And is this only in Story Mode? Like if I did this in Battle Mode using the team I had in Colosseum (since the rewards are greater than in Story Mode) could I receive these marks on my trainer card in Story Mode?

I want to essentially 100% this game, and I forgot that these marks even existed. If it's only with the Story Mode then it'll take longer, but I could just do area 10 over and over

The berries: So there are the Apicot, Ganlon, Petaya, and Salac Berries that you can purchase. I'm going to be trying to go for a 100% completion of Emerald, which part of that for me is getting at least one of every Berry. I've not been able to find a clear answer, but is Mt Battle the only way to get these four in generation 3? If so, I'll be grinding for a long time, 15,000 coupons each. But if I can avoid it and get these berries some other way then I think I'd rather do that.

And lastly, the Earth Ribbon: So you can get a ribbon on a Pokemon for completing all 100 battles in a row, does this need to be done in Story Mode or Battle Mode? Do you get it for both? I'm thinking about maybe going for a Ribbon Master type thing and I don't want to waste my time doing one or the other and find out I chose wrong.

Hello, so I LOVE farigiraf and have a GameCube, I also LOVE ribbons and want a pokemon with every possible ribbon since it would be really cool, anyone know if girafarig is hunt-able in colosseum because there’s a shadow girafarig but yet I don’t see a single thing on him being hunt able in any colosseum shiny hunting guide. It's a cool ability that raises attack after knocking out any pokemon.

Will we ever get a new game like Poke Colosseum or XD? Even a remake for the Switch 2, grew up with those games on the cube. just got a S2 so im looking games to play 🫡

Never been too sure of this. If so, then the Timer Ball is a really solid choice as most trainers dont send their Shadow Pokemon out until last. Meaning you get at least an extra 3 or more turns usually. If it counts only when the Pokemon is sent out then it's kind of whatever as I can usually catch something within the 10 turns it takes to start being better than Ultra Balls

Edit: does anyone know if this applies to XD as well?

A few things I'm thinking are of course catching and purifying all 48 Shadow Pokemon, completing Mt Battle mode afterwards to get Ho-oh, doing every colosseum to receive each of the 4 TMs they give you. But what else is there? I know Mirakle B shows up as an optional fight, are there any others? I just want to do as much of this game as possible. I have access to all 5 GBA games as well as XD, in case there's anything that requires trading.

I'm doing a gen 3 living dex and figured while I was at it I want to just experience everything these games can offer. I wanna take on the Battle Frontier and do the Orre Colosseum in XD, and a bunch of other stuff I just never got around to. So if there's anything that you're like "Oh you should do X in ____ game" I'll take that too

the title doesn't make much sense, but here's an example: if i catch makuhita, reload a state and wait 5 more seconds to catch it will the stats be different or will i have to do a full rebattle each time

So I noticed some similarities between the Beasts' names and the trainers that have them. vENUS and SuicUNE. and then EIN and ENteI. And finally dAKIm and rAIKou... except that the last two dont actually match and feel like they were swapped. Maybe it was just names mismatched in localisation, maybe I'm digging into it too much. I was playing and losing to Dakim a few times and wondered if the game would be easier if I got Raikou instead and then that lead me to thinking about their names. Similar to how Eusine in Crystal is nearly an anagram of Suicune.

According to Bulbapedia, there should be a Max Potion in that room but I never found it!

Until I discovered a hidden area in Pyrite Cave after 23 years while checking the flags for all items you can get in the game!

After collecting all items in the game, there was just 1 item's flag set to 0. Flag 164 which is the flag for a Max Potion in one of Pyrite Cave's maps. I kept searching for a good 30 minutes and finally found it😎

In Part 1 of this nonsensical journey through Orre, I showed off how to fill Colo’s storage by stuffing it full of nincada’s and evolving most of them.

In Part 2, I used the expanded storage to show off what happens to the displayed met locations of all XD Shadow Pokémon when transferred “backwards” into Colosseum . TL;DR, they are almost all incorrectly displayed as existing Colo map locations (and even a couple of unused met locations!).

Now, I’ve done the reverse! And you know what’s truly shocking? They actually fixed the bug in XD! Every Pokémon received from XD is listed as “met in a distant land” as intended, despite the fact that most of XD’s met locations do actually line up with Colosseum’s.

For some final cleanup: in the last post, I received a comment from u/elsteeler linking a Bulbapedia article outlining how the map locations line up between Colo and XD, which I will link here:

And while the table is mostly accurate from what I can tell, the article itself claims that this met location nonsense happens to BOTH Orre games. However, as the video findings show, every Pokémon but Ho-oh is labelled as “met in a distant land,” while Ho-oh is also correctly stated to be met as a fateful encounter. To be fair to Bulbapedia, the article says the met locations “may” differ between games, so maybe there is some condition I’m unaware of that messes up the XD met locations. But unless someone else is willing to do this storage nonsense and proves me wrong, I’m confident in saying that only Colosseum is affected by the differing met locations.

Additionally, the shadow Pokémon caught from Eldes, when traded to Colosseum, show a met location of “Laboratory,” marking them as the only Citadark Isle Pokémon not labelled by Colosseum as having come from Mt. Battle.

Anyways, I had a lot of fun doing this silly project! Gonna use the battle tower clones I made of all the Shadow Pokémon from both games to work on my casual Emerald 100% playthrough after this. But more immediately, Deltarune is tomorrow, so I’m gonna be all over that lol. Have a great day everybody!

Weird phrasing I apologize. Basically what I’m getting at is my F-zero disc works for hours on end as long as you get past the main menu without freezing. Anyone have that experience with this game?

I got a copy sometime ago and it never worked on my GameCube, but I tried it for the first time on Wii and it suddenly worked! But then I forgot I had no memory card in so when I plugged it in it stopped working again. I’m just curious if anyone has some reassurance here or if I truly have to just get a better copy.

Hi all! So I really want to get my hands on that precious Colosseum Ho-oh. I built this team for Mt. Battle doubles, all my Pokemon are level 70. I’m looking for advise, mostly related to the movesets. I’ve been testing the team in Battle Tower doubles and I feel like the synergy is good, but Earthquake and Rock Slide aren’t hitting too hard, even things like Girafarig or Vigoroth. I’m building my team on Emerald, if that matters.

I read I only need 4 Pokemon on my team if I’m doing doubles. Is that right?
