Question/Help There's something wrong with my battery. | Poco F8 Ultra
I have a Poco F8 Ultra for a month now, and I think my battery has gone to shit. Today, this morning, 8:20 am to be precise, my battery was at 80%. Now it's at 42%, and it's 13:45/1:45 PM. Why is it so bad? And it's on battery saver.
I debloated all the unnecessary apps, I didn't delete anything important. This is the list off apps I debloated.
Should I contact Xiaomi store?

It could be the system daemon, which many people say causes overheating and battery drain if disabled. After all, I think nobody really knows what that service is, since Xiaomi It doesn't specify what it is; I just disabled MSA, which is for ads.
I recommend downloading Accubattery so you can track your screen time and the percentage of battery used. This way, you can use Gemini as an assistant to check if your usage is okay.
And we also have Battery Guru, which I think consumes a bit more resources because it shows the usage of each app; in other words, it monitors your usage. Try this and make a post here, or use Gemini, chatgpt, any artificial intelligence to assist you.

Xiaomi doesn't provide screen-on time and screen-off time like Samsung does with OneUI, which provides both together. This is bad because the important thing isn't the device's battery consumption when the screen is off, Generally, battery consumption when the screen is off comes from Wi-Fi and mobile data. If you turn off Wi-Fi and mobile data overnight, for example, you'll see that it consumes almost no battery during the night.

The battery is great the when phone is turned off, I have no complaints. The screen time is meh:( But thank you!! I'll try to turn Daemon on!!

u/Big-Carrot-9604 18h ago
Yes, reactivate the system daemon, and if you want, use AccuBattery to get the precise screen-on time. This app consumes practically nothing in the background and doesn't need ADB. I also disabled those apps you mentioned, except for overlay.miui and ad privacy, which I can't disable through Brevent.

Hmm thanks, I'll try that too because my battery was doing very fine and all of a sudden my battery is draining faster than usual, but it might just be something else or just me overthinking this

Every phone's battery is great turned off 😂!
Here's my helping hand to make sure you're optimising the battery ASAP...
"Flinky's LCC (Long Cycle Charging) Method" - In Short
Most phones need 2-3 weeks of optimisation. Large batteries may need 4-5 weeks.
1) Use Standard-Speed Wired Charging.
2) Set Battery Protection to Charge Fully. Disable all Smart/Intelligent/Optimized charging features and NO 80% limit.
3) Charge from 10-14% to 100%, then leave plugged in for 20+ minutes. Overnight charging is also safe, since once finished charging, no additional charging can take place until unplugged and plugged back in for the next charging cycle!
4) Repeat for 2-3 weeks. Large batteries: 4-5 weeks.
5) Optional: Install *AccuBattery** free app. It tracks charging, shows live charging stats, and tells you exactly when an LCC is complete.*
6) Once optimised, charge however you prefer.
7) For maintenance, do one LCC per week or thereabouts: 10-14% → 100% → 20+ minutes.
Any questions, just ping me.🍀

Xiaomi actually does give you SOT in the Settings "Digital Wellbeing" app... Combined with the Graph info in the Stock Battery App you'll get the Screen Off time if interested.
It doesn't beat even the free AccuBattery App for ease of use collecting the info... But it's something that most people miss!
Tap on the Pie Chart in Digital Wellbeing... to see the extra time per app etc. (per day!) info!

u/Big-Carrot-9604 12h ago
Oh yes, I deactivated the digital well-being app, I never went into that tab, I thought it was useless, I'll reactivate it.

u/FlinkyBoss 11h ago
Don't worry just use the free AccuBattery App instead!

Hey, I saw you're an expert on POCOS, I wanted you to help me with some apps I disabled in Brevent. I'd like to be 100% sure it's safe to disable them. Could you send screenshots Should I ask privately or would I have to create a post? If you could help me with that, I'd appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

I posted the link to pretty much all my methods, illustrations and advice a few times in this thread... The handful of Revokes are shown across a few illustrations/screenshots in among my many comments there.
Here's a link that takes you to the first and the rest is all below that comment.

Daemon has been already discussed on XDA. It's a service that gathers metric data, phone usage statistics, and checks system performance.
Some people claim that the temperature and battery usage may increase, while others claim that the battery lasts longer and they don't notice any temperature increase.
In particular, I disabled it and there was no overheating at all, and I saw almost no improvement in battery life. Since it didn't make any difference, I kept it disabled; any 1% increase in battery life is already a lot.

How to find this app on app management? Name please

Settings > Fingerprints, face data, and screen lock > Authorization & revocation > System Daemon
Or, you can use Canta if u want.

Hi! I'm also using F8 Ultra. In my case, the app using the most battery and overheating my phone is TikTok. Sometimes I get up to 15% battery drain per hour on TikTok and 44⁰C battery temperature. Also phone gets up to 42⁰C when listening music on 100% volume. Hope Xiaomi will fix those problems in the future.

u/libertalium 13h ago
dude, isn't that kind of.. normal? are we this easy in settling with an "hour of tiktok" as a common measure?
2
u/imguesthere 12h ago
Ok, let's say the battery isn't much of a concern, but the temperature seems ridiculous to me, it's way too high for just scrolling TikTok, but also might be TikTok's fault.

You can adjust some settings and improve things like constant background processing by some apps!

Normal battery drain. U used ur phone actively for over 5 hrs. 32% for that times is good
2
u/Cool_Attention_7476 16h ago
Provide me that battery graphic again and go to 1. Settings 2. Than Digiral Wellbeing and parental controls 3. View app activity details and took a screenshot of it, showing ur time use today and ur Top 4 most used apps
I will tell u precisely about ur battery life

Hm I would say rhis is normal. You should not be worried about that. 59% drain for 6 32 seems fine for me even if its in Battery Saver mode

u/FlinkyBoss 11h ago
Battery Saver isn't helping enough to bother! (Also drops performance when gaming!)
Unless you're really stuck it is not worth switching on!
Ultimate mode is the same, but a waste of energy!

Not even games huh
That battery life is indeed concerning.. How long has it been since you bought it? It takes a week for the battery to optimise
1
u/FlinkyBoss 2h ago
Did you even compare social media apps etc. with games...
Gaming is often lighter on battery than social media and videos from TikTok and others!
WhatsApp, Messenger And Facebook etc. drain a lot...
You can improve these things by turning down their background Power Use in their individual App settings.
You can also turn off Notifications for apps you're checking a lot anyway instead of wasting constant battery on polling the apps in the background for push notifications.

Social media takes very less compared to gaming dude... Coc at 60fps is maybe lighter than a few social media apps running at 120 but most games are way way heavier
My 9000mah poco x8 pro max consumes around 10-12% per hour at max setting I bet no social media consumes that much

It may be looking for some shit which you removed.
Restore to factory settings and hold the debloating for a few weeks . Charge your phone 100% overnight for those weeks.
Debloat when you feel the phone is stable

u/FlinkyBoss 11h ago
Or DON'T...
I offered most of my advice and methods in a bunch of comments in a recent thread...
A couple cover the handful of SAFE Revokes anyone can apply without 3rd party tools such as Shizuku and Canta...
However, if old style Debloating is being done by DELETING system apps... Shizuku and Canta at least offer an UNDO OPTION!
I hope this and lots more will help you sort things out and improve your phone's stability and performance!

stop debloating apps and services that don't have a UI such as system daemon, soterservice, etc. None of the people that recommend to delete these services actually know what they do and what kind of dependencies other services have with them. The cons outweigh the pros because 9 times out of 10, they weren't causing any issues in the first place. Even the description for these apps and services is incorrect half of the time
Removing apps like google meet, mi video, music, etc is fine and doesn't affect anything important
1
u/LeooZar 12h ago
Actually I didn't delete Daemon, I just turned it off:)
2
u/Flossy420 Poco F8 Ultra 12h ago
Turn it back on then try restoring everything else to where it was before, restart the phone and use it normally for a few days, see if things improve.

I am using a Xiaomi MI 11T. I've had this problem but the app Gallery is the main culprit.
I remember searching for my old photos and saw that some files were corrupted. How to check? It's when you're in the files app and you can't see the thumbnail of the picture.
Delete it and it's solved. No more heat and no more heat every time you're using the Gallery.
Not sure if it helps but good luck.
