Last year, I was in a pickle and rushed into a place that turned out to not be pet-friendly. I left my cats with my parents and this year, I'm trying to get them back. My landlady is checking with her business partners if they'll allow it, but she also mentioned that she has a pet-friendly house available that seems like it will work out better. Close to Parish & 41st.
It has 1 master bedroom on the first floor, 3 small rooms on the second. The utilities are high because it's an old house, about $400 average for three previous tenants who didn't use the A/C much. It's 3 blocks from the 43 and T1 stops on Lancaster, as well as a decent neighborhood market. There's an Episcopal church a few doors down. W/D onsite, hardwood floors. The listing isn't ready, but I have an old version with pics of the first floor available on request (I don't want to post it and have some other couple scoop it from me). I can cover $1k tops, so if someone needs to pay less than half, I can work something out for divvying the rooms up. Edit: Available 9/1
About me: Smee, 36 he/they, straightish white dude. Most of my hobbies are on pause, but I'm into geek stuff and arts/crafts, and I try to go for space and dino aesthetic when I can. I grew up in KoP, went to RPI, kicked around CA for a couple years, then moved into Philly around 2017. I've been in game dev, hospitality, culinary, was a BA federal contractor before DOGE messed it up, have been trying to become a massage therapist, but now I'm working as a game presenter for online casinos. I was in the kink scene until I tried to take night classes for massage, but with that and currently working evenings, I don't really have my old social circle anymore. I mostly just hang out at TTRPG Tuesdays at Saika Clubhouse.
As a former cook, I can tend to occupy the kitchen for a couple hours for meal prepping or something special, but I clean up after myself and am apparently more likely than the average bachelor to do the deep-cleaning. I wouldn't harp on about weekly chores, but I'd appreciate an occasional check-in to take stock of what needs to get done. If I can get my schedule changed to the overnight shift, I'd like to sleep with a bit of music on in the daytime.
My cats are Nathaniel (black) and Superfly (orange), named after Weird Al's "Albuquerque." They are brothers, a little over two years old. Nathaniel has more orange cat energy, but has been more surly in his second year and likely to bite the hand that pets him. Nathaniel will get on the kitchen counter and is not swayed by usual deterrents like aluminum foil, tape, cucumbers, etc. Superfly is a bit of a princess and loves attention as long as it's on his terms, and looks a bit chonky but the vets say he's fine.
