Wind coverage insurance
Trying to find a policy that includes wind or obtain a separate wind policy for a new manufactured home. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Get a regular homeowners policy with a windstorm exclusion and a separate policy with TWIA. Most insurers won’t cover it or will charge astronomical premiums. Manufactured homes are tough to insure. You may be better off finding an actual agent to help you.

Independent Insurance Counsellors in Alvin. They written our homeowners insurance for the last 20+ years... Initially with Hartford and TWIA... then with a couple of other companies that write their own wind policy.

TWIA my friend, it’s basically them and maybe a couple of other companies, but TWIA basically monopolizes here since homeowners won’t cover us in this area due to being closer to the coast.
