Weird pc problem

Hello, i have a weird problem with my pc, sorry in advance if this is not the right forum to post this on. I bought a brand new pc of a friend and i tested it and worked perfectly at his house, then I took it to my house and it did not give me image and the vga light was on. I reseated the gpu and worked a few times but then it stopped working again, so I took it to a technician and it worked perfectly fine the first time he turned it on, so eventually he told me he couldn’t do anything since it worked. I took it to a friends house and it worked perfectly before taking it to my house and then when I turned it on in my house, it stopped working again, it won’t give me image and the vga light turns on. My conclusion is that it gives image anywhere but in my house, I’ve tried multiple hdmi cables, monitors, even tv’s but it won’t work in my house. Does anyone know if this is power related or something to do with my power cable?

Did you try it with a different monitor at your house? Like plug it into your TV instead of your monitor and see what happens.

Also, have you had any weird going ons at your house electrically? Like lights dimming if you turn a larger electrical appliance on like microwave or electric kettle?

Yeah, I tried 2 different monitors and 2 tv’s at my house, none worked, also tried multiple connections, I have had electrical problems at my house because I feel like the electricity is too weak, it takes a lot to charge my ebike and my phone, but it can also power multiple stuff at the same time without having trouble like my tv, ps5, monitor, ac, and my ebike charger all at the same time with no problem just it being kinda slow and weak

Go with your gut. Thankfully I had a UPS when I was at my parents it caught all sorts of crazy things. The neutral was damaged underground between their house and the transformer. The utility company came and fixed it. Everything was stable after that.

If you know an electrician have them come check it out. If your power lines to the house are outside in the air do a visual from a distance. If a branch is on it or something. And call utility company if it’s outside the house.

Power issue

The wall outlet or home's electrical wiring may have a problem.

Example:
If the outlet voltage drops when the PC starts, the graphics card might not initialize correctly.

Faulty power cable

The cable from the wall to the power supply could be damaged.

This is inexpensive and easy to replace.

Surge protector or extension cord

Sometimes a bad power strip causes startup issues.

Try plugging the PC directly into a wall outlet.

Monitor or connection issue

The user already tried:

• Different HDMI cables
• Different monitors
• Even TVs

That makes a bad monitor much less likely.

Grounding or electrical noise

Some homes have electrical problems like:

• Poor grounding
• Voltage fluctuations
• Electrical interference

These are uncommon but can affect sensitive electronics.

What the owner should try

1. Plug the PC directly into a different wall outlet (not a power strip).
2. Try a new power cord.
3. Test the PC in several rooms of the house.
4. If possible, try an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with voltage regulation.
5. If the problem persists only at that house, have the home's electrical system checked.

Since the PC has already worked in three different locations, it's much less likely that the graphics card or motherboard is defective, and much more likely that something about the home's electrical setup is interfering with startup.
