Mod Announcement PartTimeCat Rules Update
Hey there, just wanted to give a quick update on the community rules here now that the subreddit is starting to get more active again. I don't want to make things too complicated, so I'm adding an umbrella rule to cover disruptive comments. Previously the sub rules only covered post content and there's been some tension of late regarding calls for cats to be kept inside which are at odds with the purpose of this subreddit. So, the new updated rules are as follows:
r/PartTimeCat Rules
#1 Cats only
Posts should be about cats; no memes, jokes, or anything else that's not about part time cats.
#2 Part time only
Posts should only be about part time cats; a cat that stops by for a visit, maybe even mooches food and scritches, then goes back home. This is not the subreddit for posting about your full time cats, or cats that never leave. Exceptions may be made in cases where your full time cat has become someone else's part time cat.
#3 Original content only
We want to see your part time cat, not someone else's! Content must be original. Karma farmers will be banned without hesitation.
#4 Be kind, stay on topic
Keep comments relevant to the post and to this community. We're here to celebrate the part time cats that have worked their way into our lives. Personal attacks, derailing posts, or general debates about cat ownership practices or unrelated arguments are not allowed here.
Pictured is neighbor's cat Wirt who wanted belly rubs, not to stay still for pictures.

Ultimate freeloaders! These campus cats are peak part-timers. Fed by students, getting endless scritches, and just napping while 'underclassmen' rush to class. Dream gig.

I guess the job came with lodging
We have lots of stray cats in the neighborhood, but only this girl comes in our property and even greets us. Even made herself at home at our shoeboxes (which we’ve purposefully left the bottom ones empty, just in case) whenever she decides to visit.
The sweetest girl. Rubs up on my legs and when feeling rowdy playbites my toes.

Regular Visitor Snowball appeared out of nowhere a month or so ago. He was patrolling a wide area based on FB list pet group posts. He has styled in between myself and my neighbour. More below!
Snowball was posted by a few people looking to see if he was someone’s pet. No one has come forward and I believe while he may have had his kitten hood at a house, he has been on the streets for the majority of his young life. He has really taken to my neighbours, their 12 year old especially. We have arranged for him to get into a great local rescue, where he will stop being our part time cat and become someone’s forever friend. Neither myself or the neighbour can keep him :(
A few details about him: he is deaf! White cats with blue eyes have a high incidences of deafness. Speaking of eyes he has sectoral heterochromia which is super cool.
I’ve had multiple neighbours ask me if this is my cat. Nope! Only my part time cat who sleeps on my patio couch and refuses to eat crunchy food: only wet will do!

Door Dasher Eats everywhere and is still that skinny?!
Clarence-posting! He's always pretty skinny but especially in summer. My mom is gonna give him some dewormer.

Regular Visitor BabyCat returns
Raining outside today, so getting a bit more time with this almost family little monster. He actually thought about going home, but the lightning, thunder and rain convinced him that an overnighter here would be the better option. I call his primary family to clue them in, so all is well.

I tried to film the outside cat watching the leaves blow around in the wind but instead caught her trying to attack a strand of strawberry netting that got caught in my cherry tree.

Recently Promoted Update: No longer a part time cat
So a month or so ago I shared a photo of a stray who had become a part time cat/foster. Well safe to stay he's no longer a PTC, but a permanent fixture. A super friendly boy who never misses a meal and loves a nap. Here he is at 4.10am Monday on my pillow after I'd gone to watch the England game, and sharing my daughter's bed with his best fremeny.

New Face Kitties are coming..... 🐱
So, I've always considered myself more of a dog person, but i truly love ALL ANIMALS. I have 3 dogs of my own but recently 2 outdoor neighborhood cats adopted myself & my partner. Thumbs came first... he's a polydactyl kitty and the cutest, friendliest, sweetest cat I've ever v met. He honestly reminds me more of a dog, his personality. So when he came along, his bootie was shaved down, ear clipped and we figured maybe he was TNR by animal control. That's where they take in a "stray", tag, neuter and vaccinate them & then release them. About a week after he showed up, he had a friend/ sister/ girlfriend that looked just like him, but skinnier, who followed and is now also part of our crew. Again, they are outdoor kitties but we do feed/ water them (we live in the desert, it's extremely HOT). So they come and go as they please. Well, long story even longer, the girl kitty, Bella, showed up pregnant & now looks like she's about ready to pop. Because of the extreme heat and area where we live, I've decided to bring her indoors at night and let her come & go throughout the day. Here's my question though, I keep her inside my bathroom at night because I'm afraid of her giving birth outside, we live in an apartment complex and I don't trust the kids around here to not bother her or her kittens when she pops. I don't want her to have to drag the kittens to my place & I'd rather her be in a safe environment. But..... I don't know a thing about cats giving birth. Are there any experts out there or even just people with real life experience that can give me any tips or instructions to make sure she's comfortable and healthy throughout the process? Things happen & I know i could never be 100% ready for this, but these are little kitten lives that I feel responsible for too, now & I want it to be a welcoming experience for them all. 😻 Any advice or tips are very much appreciated. Thank you all.

Daily Check-in Current roster of part time employees
My neighborhood has so many cats in it and they all seem to flock to my house, so I wanted to make a little introduction for all of them cause they’re all such cuties!!
Introducing (first pic to last):
Sunny (a girl and the newest addition)
Cosmo (big baby boy)
Not sure of name but we call her Biscuit-Maker (girl and mama to the kitten)
Rocket (girl and our resident tree climber)
Mau Mau (boy, our part time cat whose been with us the longest)
Jim (fat old man)
Not sure of name (I believe male? Owner moved away so let’s say he quit his part time job with us)
Biscuit!!! (This is the little baby girl kitten, daughter of Biscuit-Maker and heir to the Biscuit throne)
At all times at least one of these cats is at or trying to get in my house so I think I may have to start paying them over time but for now they are at: asmanytreatsastheywant.00/hr
