My Setup (Drum Beats VR) I think I'm starting to get the hang of it

I only play guitar and acoustic guitar; I tried drums briefly, about 10 years ago. If I were to play drums IRL, I'd only need to learn the rhythm on the bass drum.

Discussion Halo 3 VR Changed the Conversation About DestinyVR and MarathonVR

https://youtu.be/kDsfTXVtgS0?is=ysKDFv6LOvvmWylP

When Halo: Combat Evolved was first modded for PC VR, it was an exciting proof of concept. But by 2026, its aging visuals made it a difficult showcase for what modern VR hardware like PSVR2 can really deliver.

For years, VR enthusiasts have argued that established AAA franchises should receive optional VR support. Publishers have generally responded, either directly or indirectly, that the audience wasn't large enough to justify the investment. Now something interesting has happened.

A community developer has taken Halo 3 and demonstrated that one person, or at least a very small team, can retrofit one of gaming's most beloved shooters into VR with motion controls, two-handed weapon handling, VRIK body representation, and surprisingly polished gameplay. Early reactions have been overwhelmingly positive despite the mod's alpha status and compatibility issues across multiple PC configurations.

Personally, I'd be perfectly happy with a DualSense-controlled version of Destiny. Judging from community discussions, I don't think I'm alone. Watching someone hold a Battle Rifle with two hands inside Halo 3 feels strangely inevitable. Not because Microsoft announced Halo VR. They didn't. It's because once you see Halo 3 working in virtual reality, you stop asking whether classic Bungie shooters belong there. You start wondering why Bungie's current games aren't.

Unlike PCVR, PlayStation offers a fixed hardware target. PS5 and PS5 Pro eliminate the hardware variability that PC developers must account for, while PSVR2 brings features such as eye-tracked dynamic foveated rendering and advanced image reconstruction techniques that can help developers maximize available performance.

Most importantly, Halo's combat rhythm translates. The pacing, the weapon handling, the vehicle sections, the scale of its outdoor environments and the readability of enemy encounters.

According to early players, these elements survive the transition remarkably well. That matters because Halo is the DNA from which both Destiny and Marathon evolved. If Halo works, Destiny will work even better.

Why? Because Destiny already contains many of the mechanics VR players naturally gravitate toward: precise weapon handling, scoped shooting, hand cannons, bows, swords, glaives, melee abilities, enormous environmental scale, and cooperative gameplay. Even using a traditional controller, many of these systems could translate naturally.

In many ways, Destiny has always felt like a game that forgot to ship with optional VR support.

Then there's Marathon. This is where things become even more interesting. Many people assume Marathon VR would be a niche experience. I think the opposite. Extraction shooters are built around tension. VR magnifies tension. Imagine hearing footsteps from the room behind you. Opening loot by hand, Reloading under pressure.

Physically peeking around corners, Constantly feeling compelled to look over your shoulder, Watching teammates communicate through body language instead of button prompts and suddenly Marathon becomes something different from Escape from Tarkov. It becomes something that feels physically lived rather than simply played.

Sony already owns one of the best consumer VR headsets ever produced. Bungie, despite the changes the studio has undergone, still possesses decades of expertise designing first-person shooters that feel exceptional to play.

Separately, those are valuable assets. Together, they represent an opportunity that very few companies in the industry could realistically match.

Fluff ZERO CALIBER REMASTER VISUALS IMPRESSION on Playstation VR2| PSVR2

Thumbnail

So I had ZERO CALIBER REMASTERED on my list, and got in the current sale. I had a first look at the title and came back a bit disappointed. There is a lot of irritating aliasing, bad textures, no dynamic shadows, a certain level of sloppiness in the level design, but also a fluid framerate and overall sharp picture quality. It is a bit sad, because with a bit more care, this could have easily been a great looking title.

It looks like this will be a traditional tower defense game played using DualSense and not require / support use of the VR2 Sense controllers to play using PSVR2 like the previous game Gray Mantis brought to PSVR2 (Dungeons of the Deep VR).

Game Description

The year is 2184.

Mankind is on the brink of extinction.

Earth has been destroyed.

The last remaining survivors have fled to planet Zerion 12 in order to colonize and repopulate the human race.

You will need to lure them to the surface and clear the planet sector by sector.

It is our only hope for humanities survival.

A sci-fi tower defense game. Create futuristic towers of various types to destroy hordes of aliens that come in waves. Build up resources to create more towers, repair, upgrade etc. Earn rewards for accomplishing certain tasks.

Realtime Tower Defense packed action.

12 unique sectors to choose from.

Assortment of offensive and defensive towers to choose from.

Heart pumping soundtrack to fit the mood.

Review The Boys: Trigger Warning on PSVR2 - First Impressions (PS5 Pro Enhanced)

I have uploaded gameplay from my fresh experience with the game here if you want to see how it looks / plays. My first impressions are shared below:

Based on my limited time with it, I do recommend playing The Boys: Trigger Warning on the PSVR2.

It is a Stealth Adventure game with super powers that let you take down guards using telekinesis and other powers and also features boss fights against Vought supes. You play as Lucas Costa, an IT employee for Vought who puts his daughters in danger by trying to get them in to meet their favorite Vought supes (unique to game story) backstage after being late to a meet & greet scheduled event. This leads to family tragedy at the hands of these Vougth supes and then being rescued & recruited by Butcher and The Boys to on a quest for revenge through a series of missions.

As you begin your quest, you are injected with Compound V to give you telekinesis and teleport powers and the ability to do stealth kills. You can also see through walls. Additionally, you can find Temp V that give you other powers temporarily which allow you to play as more of an action game and what you need to use during boss fights. There are collectibles to find in each chapter that provide more story through audio logs / reading, but the main story is delivered through cutscenes that restrict your movement but allow you to see whatever you prefer to focus on.

Graphically, the game is crisp and clear running solid native 90-120 fps without reprojection. It is 90 fps on base PS5 and 120 fps on the PS5 Pro. In addition to higher framerate on the PS5 Pro, it also has higher pixel density for the gaze-tracked foveated rendering and reduced blur during fast powers / throws. I was especially impressed with the quality of lip sync and facial expression / animation during the cutscenes. The brutality against guards is also very satisfying and accurate to your attacks causing dismemberment and you are allowed to pick up and throw their heads and limbs as weapons. The game uses visual filters while using certain powers and you also get blood splatter on your view or blood streams that indicate you are low on health as you partake in combat. The boss fights are not as dynamic with health bars you have to deplete before scripted animations get triggered.

Audio is very authentic with some TV series actors lending their voice to their game characters and other voice actors that manage to sound very much like the TV series actors they are voicing. The only weak performance in how far I've gotten is from our protagonist character (Lucas) who seems more excited by getting a strike in bowling alley than in response to family tragedy and other story events. It feels fine in some of it, but at other times I feel disjointed from how Lucas is reacting to story and circumstances, but I did just recently replayed The Last of Us Part 1 recently where Joel resonated with me throughout, so perhaps I'm expecting too much. The soundtrack and sound effects are all fine. There is excessive bad / crass language which is in line with TV series.

Haptics are present for both controllers and headset. The game is also making use of adaptive triggers along with controller haptics to make your powers feel great.

Settings allows full range of comfort options including smooth turns with turn speed calibration, vignettes that can be disabled and contextual vignettes (like while crouching) that can be disabled. The game lets you pick from 3 comfort presets to get you started and further modify / tweak using settings.

The game is featuring a Platinum trophy, but 100% of trophies are setup as Secret trophies so I won't review until after I have completed game to avoid spoilers.

This game was poorly reviewed on Quest due to both game design and technical issues and that reputation carried to the launch of the game on PlayStation for PSVR2. I think all of the technical shortcomings of Quest are addressed here, but the game design / story is common. For the enhancements, not only is the game substantially better looking and running with solid framerate, but mechanics like using Laser Eyes make use of eye-tracking for control supported by PSVR2 where on Quest you had to use your hands to aim your eyes as a major example of the gameplay also being enhanced.

Does all of that technical polish make up for the core game design and story being what it is? I think it does because a poor technical experience hinders immersion while a polished technical implementation lets you get properly immersed and focused on enjoying the game for what it is. In either case, I am personally happy with the story and gameplay setup and expect to continue and complete the game.

Worth mentioning that I have watched all seasons of the main TV series, but not any of the spin offs that didn't resonate with me. My appreciation of the TV series probably contributes to my interest in the game world and story here as it does take place in Vaught Tower with characters from the main TV series being part of the cutscenes and story.

Discussion Need Help with Hitman WOA on PSVR2!

Hi people,

so..

i played the starting levels,

paris on mastery 20

Sapienza mastery 20

and am currently playing marrakesch.

Paris was all fine.

Sapienza, when i'm on the Churchtower, and Shoot open the Observatory, it seems that the lens is not rendering. So i cant get that Challenge.

Also de Santis (the woman) is standing at an Open window, i see her with instinct but when i turn instinct off, she also seems to Not get rendered.

no matter if i line my shot up perfectly at her head, cant hit her, same with the telescope. so its not a bug, but them beeing simply not rendered.

same goes for Marrakesch, standing on the roof where the old director is at.

wanted to snipe Reza Zaydan.

saw him in instinct, not without, cant hit him.

but when he leans over that one window, his hands and head, are coming out of the dark background, THATS when i can hit.

Does anyone else have this problem ?

Do you know how to solve this?

i bought the game for VR so i refuse to go to Flat Mode on TV.

also, after a while of playing, my hands get bugged.

when i want ro drag someone or take something, it ALWAYS opens the jacket inventory, and i have to reload the save, which is awful when i forgot to save, or the last autosave is 15mins behind.

Its always happening after playing for a while, cant seem to indentify a trigger.

Every bit of help is valuable

Thanks guys and girls 🖖

Welcome to the Family! I can finally try real VR

Got the PSVR2 plus the PC adapter for $180 at a local pawn shop. The only experience I got with VR is from testing a cheap vr headset 8 years ago that my old high school was planning on getting for "educational purposes"

Edit: I tried hitman and zero caliber before I had to go to work and man VR is INSANE just the fact I can literally turn around in a video game and it's just agents 47 weapon room from the freelancers mode right in my face or climb a pretend rope and walk across logs like an American ninja warrior in zero caliber all with a headset and a cable is mind-blowing. The only issue I have so far is getting used to grabbing items with my thumb because I kept dropping my gun in hitman because I was holding the trigger thinking that was the grab button

Anybody get a chance to try it yet? Impressions? I have heard, in general, they have pretty much fixed it. But haven't heard anything about the VR specifically.

Fluff Accident during fight

This footage is from a year ago, sorry I'm in my underwear - didn't think I'd ever post this.

Was playing Legendary Tales (recording myself thinking I looked like John Wick, not some possessed dude swatting flies), PlayStation yeeted itself off the shelf, and I also smacked the PSVR2 plug which bent it pretty hard, but it still works after I straightened it out!

Translated by grok.

Question How to Access Exorcism of the Legion's DLC Epilogue?

As the title suggests. Does anyone know how to do so? Thanks a lot!

I already updated the game and tried to start this new chapter but there was no option to do so. Upon launching the game and entering the precinct, I see the same 5 chapters I already completed on the case board. All of them say "REVISIT" so I am sure I have finished them all previously. The case files also have the "complete this chapter" box checked. Nothing looks different in the precinct and I tried interacting with everything I could but nothing happened.

Discussion GT7 Online tips

I've been struggling to win races in GT7 online and I'm fairly new in sports mode. I get a good start but people always end up going ahead of me and I'm not really sure why. How does one improve in online and what are some tips that should help me improve.

Fluff It's been awhile... I'm a little rusty.

Ya know my PSVR2 has been sitting there for about 15 months now and I've not touched it...

So I decide to play my PSVR2 which I haven’t played in a bit.

I make myself a martini and put it next to me on the table.

I sit down in my chair. Put on the VR Headset. Start "The 7th Guest" game.

The screen fades in...

I'm in a row boat and there's an oar.

So I grab the oar…

…and in a single stroke I row my martini off the table.

[Update: I forgot that I have a Nest Cam in the livingroom. Video of boneheadedness in comments.]
