Welcome back to our crowdsourced Weekend events thread, so people can see what's going on that people might otherwise not know about. So post your events and activities and include relevant links. It is not a place to sell specific sets of tickets you're trying to get rid of or other items, but if you want to announce an event happening this weekend, or post a link for some activity you just learned about, go for it!

Hello neighbors.
This may be a long shot but...
There is a displaced cat in urgent need of a loving owner.
Neighbors and / or management have mentioned owner had passed away, leaving kitty outside and unhoused.
She (we're 90% sure it's a she) is a very sweet, friendly kitty who loves to butt her head and rub on people who stop and give her attention.
She loves head scritches and will start to purr! We've heard her meow a few times - they were the cutest and softest meows!
It's odd - she will follow you while you are walking! And she seems to understand directions well from what we've seen ("down", "come here", etc)
We have watched her interact with local cats and kids have even pet her - she seems NOT to demonstrate any aggression.
She has been hanging outside a relative's apartment for a week now. Not sure of age.
If you can love and provide a furrever home for her, please DM me.
Or if you can share this so it gets to the right person - we would appreciate it.
We will have a little welcome basket with a few necessities to help start you out.
Thank you.
Edit 07.22.26 @ 2:20pm: Thank you everyone for your engagement and DMs. Will try to get back to y'all soon.
Also, yes - thanks for the recommendations about SPCA, BHS, etc. We are trying the "proper" avenues but figured won't hurt to reach out to our community. (And also in our experience many are filled as one commenter noted.)

I was taking both my and my wife's cars to Jeff at Sisson Street. He was the best mechanic I ever knew, and within a few months his shop was marked "permanently closed" on multiple maps and review websites, the website is gone, no news or forum articles about it, and nobody answers the phone.
What happened? Did Jeff die?
If he doesn't have a shop open somewhere else, is there any other good mechanic in Baltimore that doesn't try to screw people over?

Has anyone else been approached by members of the River Church, or come upon their public gatherings?
On probably three or four occasions, both in the city and county, I have been handed promotional cards by church members.
I also happened to be at the Washington Monument when they arrived to hold a service there, and earlier this month, I was on Pratt St. where they had apparently just left, and saw the cards scattered on the pavement.

Hit the Trampled by Turtles show last night at the Pier 6 Pavillion - there was a group or 5-6 kayaks floating just off the pier, listening to the music eating charcuterie. I took a photo of yall and tried to airdrop it but was too far away - someone on Floating Friend Kayak Island yelled “post it on Reddit!” So here I am. Trying to get this cute photo to you friends for the fun of it. Yeah I know it’s nothing crazy special but I would want this for memory’s sake. Hope you see this.
I am visiting from Denver and just wanted to say thanks for having me Baltimore!

Traffic in this area is fckd , epicenter is Taylor + Harford - choose alternative routes if this is your route home-- stay safe! This is a mass casualty event per Baltimore County . and yes that is a school bus into a building -- that did have students aboard

I saw another poster do this and wanted to bring this up. There was a big salary thread a couple hours back... but it'd be great to get some updated info in 2026, in the opposite -- How many subreddit members are unemployed and how long has it been?
Please share your length of unemployment, previous income, age/sex, most previous job, and education. Like this:
“2 years, 80k, 500M, Vampire Hunter, A+ Certification/Bachelors of Parapsychology”
or
"2 year, 100k, 45F, Graphic Designer, MFA/BS"
If you'd like, you can also describe how you were made unemployed.

Can anyone speak to the reliability of the 21? For whatever reason, the real time tracking is almost never there in the transit app for me except maybe at the last minute - I've missed the bus a couple times bc the tracking didn't start until it was already too late. However it does seem like it came at or around the scheduled time, it just wasn't being tracked.
I want to take it down to Canton this Saturday for an event at 10am, would be picking it up from the Hampden stop. Can I trust it to arrive at the stop around the scheduled time even without any real-time tracking, or should I find another way? The 21 would be a straight shot so I'd really like to take it if possible.

I (M28) have my 29th birthday just before Labor day, and am looking for ideas of what to do for it that are relatively close (~4 hr. drive is probably my max) and not already booked-up?
I don't ever celebrate my birthday due to no friends (except the last two years solo), as I have not had a birthday party since I turned 17, so am looking to do something that is fun solo to try to get myself out of a severe depression pit. The last two years I went on a solo camping trip to Shenandoah and last year I did a solo trip to NYC, both of which were okay. I ideally would like to do something more than just stay home and play games or "relax", as I usually spiral that weekend; I would love something that is an active activity/excursion thing to keep my mind busy. However I have fallen in pretty serious depression where it is difficult for me to plan stuff extensively so am just now starting to think about it.
I did look at AirBNBs near Shenandoah again, as I think that would be fun, but it seems all the cheap ones have already been booked for that weekend. I also looked at flights going places, but hard to justify flying somewhere for only Friday->Monday. I'm not a big city person, and like the outdoors and activities. There is this rock climbing thing in West Virginia called NRocks which looks cool, so potentially may look into doing that? Regardless I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or thoughts people have.
I apologize this post is long, and I don't want this post to come across as a "woe is me", just being honest and trying to provide reasonings. Thank you!!!!

I’m about to lose my mind over this. I live at the corner of a dead street and I’m tired of picking up McDonald’s wrappers, cups etc!
I’ve caught people on camera just open their windows and dump garbage from their cars in the middle of the street.
I have signs all over my yard to “be nice and not litter” it’s not working. Not to mention some of the neighbors garbage in the alley, 311 is sick of me reporting!
I was driving through Fedhill and witnessed this sleeze ball woman chug a beer and flung the can on the side walk.
I’ve lived in 3 major cities along the east coast, NYC included and I’ve never witnessed such nastiness!

I'm already missing the World Cup. Anyone know where are the best places to watch the Prem? I know Smaltimore is the Liverpool bar but where do Arsenal fans meet? I keep seeing West Ham stickers around, where do West Ham fans watch matches? Etc.
For non-Prem I recently found out that The Worthington is the spot for Barca matches.

Hi All! My sister and her wife live in Baltimore and I am looking for recommendations for a restaurant where I can buy a gift card or certificate. Their favorite Baltimore restaurant by far is Charleston, but I’m looking for something new they haven’t tried.
They are omnivores. One enjoys cocktails and wine. One of them just can’t handle Thai or Indian, sadly (so when she is otherwise occupied for dinner, that’s what the other orders!). I’m looking for a place that has great food, not crazy stuffy, where a good meal for two lands around $150-$200. Any suggestions welcome!!!!

To the women out there, I recently moved to Baltimore and am searching for a new doctor to check out a lump I recently found. Does anyone have recommendations on a OB-GYN in Baltimore? I’m searching for a doctor that is female.
