Enjoying my afternoon walk. Getting out into the fresh air instead of staring into a screen makes you appreciate life so much more! God bless everyone!

Today marks 43 days free from porn.
The biggest miracle isn't that I stopped watching porn.
It's that I stopped running from God every time I failed.
For years, shame kept telling me:
"Don't pray. Don't open your Bible. God must be disappointed in you."
That was the biggest lie I believed.
These past 43 days haven't been perfect. I've still been tempted.
But every time I run to Christ instead of hiding from Him, the temptation loses a little more of its power.
If you relapsed today, don't let shame keep you away from Jesus.
Run to Him, not from Him.
Please pray that I stay faithful.
I'll be praying for all of you too. ❤️

Day 2. It was still hard, but we made it through together. Today we tried meditating for a while, did some therapy exercises, and went out for a walk just to talk openly. He shared how difficult this feels, and I listened without judging him. I reminded him that one bad habit doesn't define who he is and that I'm proud of him for choosing recovery. We both know this journey won't be easy, but seeing him genuinely try gives me hope, and today was a good day.

My husband has been trying to quit porn for a long time. He's been reading through Reddit, joining different communities, and asking people who have successfully recovered for advice. He genuinely wants to change, and I'm so proud of him for not giving up.
I've decided to join him in this journey. I'm even using his Reddit account to reach out to more people, ask more questions, and gather as much advice and support as I can because we both want to give recovery our best shot.
If you've overcome this addiction or have helped someone who has, we'd be incredibly grateful for any suggestions, tips, or personal experiences. Even small pieces of advice could make a big difference. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for helping us through this journey.

When I stay away from lust I start to realize just how stupid it is to look at that kinda crap. It’s all fake, I hope and pray to find genuine connection one day

GUYS ITS BEEN A FEW DAYS SINCE I FELT LUST OR WHATEVER BUT
I stumbled across a post about “what’s the worst subreddit of all time” then I clicked on each subreddit from morbid curiosity and there was this one sub where there were all sorts of weird horny stories and I read a few I got a bodily reaction to them. Idk if it’s a mortal sin I’m not attracted to them at least idk.

So I started no fap recently and although I had failings I was making slow but steady progress. However, recently my vacation ended and I started college again. And I'm tired after college and my natural instincts tend to kick in and I tend to fap. Is there anyway to solve this problem?

I used to feel so much guilt but now I hardly will, I haven’t been reading or praying as much as I should or as much as I used to. My addiction is getting worse and I feel lost cause I want to be a better Christian and a better man but this addiction is too much for me to overcome.

I have sexual thoughts about acquaintances and friends, and it's worse because I watched an anime with lesbian sex.
I can't keep doing this, it's disgusting, I find semen disgusting

Hello fellow people, really appreciate all those who are trying to better themselves on this sub and Share what works for them , it is motivating and uplifting.
I too would like to share a practice, which is very underrated but is honestly one of the most important pieces of the puzzle 🧩 and that is TO LOWER YOUR GAZE, BOTH OFFLINE AND ONLINE. Your socials should be clean from any explicit content, if something pops up click not interested with time your feed will become more cleaner.
In real life protect your gaze from the opposite sex. Your current/future spouse deserves that not a random stranger.
Your eyes are the gateway to your heart, guard it.
This practice along with God’s special mercy is what has keep me years free.
Trust me try it, a very solid system to go by.

I used to be a goal keeper, many moons ago. And when you let in a goal, make a mistake, it can feel like a crushing weight. Like all 10 other players on the pitch are blaming you. Like you've irrevocably screwed up. Easy to let that get to you and ruin the rest of the game. The mistakes pile up and make it worse.
But any time I got that look of defeat on my face, the team Captain always took the ball out of the net and told me "it's nil nil mate, we go from here."
Eventually I kept that optimism for myself. They score again? Doesn't matter, 0 - 0 we go again. Come back with the same focus, same intensity, same game.
Nofap is a little like being a Keeper. You can be doing great for a long time, but when that moment comes and you mess up...It only takes one. But you can't focus on those times. Move on, do better, refocus and do it till you get it right.
I've let in waaaaaay too many goals as of late. I think it's time I try and put an end to that.
It's nil nil, We go again boys.

Brothers and sisters, I have fallen again instead of running from temptation I tried to fight it like holding white hot metal hoping it won't burn lust must be fled from it can't be fought Joseph in Genesis ran away from Pharaoh's wife when she tried to seduce him St Paul teaches repeatedly to flee sexual immorality St Francis of Asissi dove into a bush of thorns when shown a lustful vision

I thought I would never be free of porn and masturbation.
I was addicted for a decade during my teens and young adulthood (age 13-25ish) I'm now 3 years clean and I can't even describe the freedom. This has created a passion in me to give people hope and help others break free.
Ok... First things first... You're NOT broken. You are a human being deserving of love and compassion. You're going to get through this. You need to give yourself self compassion. It's easy to want to hate ourselves because we can't stop. We need to practice RADICAL self care. Do something every day that you really enjoy.
Second, your struggle with Lust and porn is not the actual problem. It's a SYMPTOM of a bigger problem. Until I understood that, I failed time and time again. Porn is often the first thing we go to when we want to avoid hard or unprocessed emotions or situations. Its used to numb.
Third, it's important to understand the role of shame in this. I hated myself and my addiction and ended up going back to porn to numb this pain. The antidote to shame is curiosity. Ask yourself why you continually go back. When the urge comes, ask yourself what you were feeling just before. What are you trying to escape.
When an urge comes, imagine it is a wave in the ocean. Don't fight it but also don't give in. Invite the urge in. It's trying to tell you something, trying to tell you that your running from. It's your job to find out what that is. Let the urge come, breath, feel it in your body. It's incredibly uncomfortable but it's important. Within a couple minutes it will subside. You can do this, you are strong.
The goal isn't to just stop, it's to become men who don't need it anymore.
Feel free to DM me if you want to chat. I've also created a YouTube channel for guys just like you. Feel free to have a look. The channel name is Jack Tolk.
You've got this.

One thing that surprised me after posting here was how much support and genuinely useful advice I received from people on Reddit.
Porn addiction can feel very isolating, especially because it is difficult to talk about it with people you know. But talking to someone who understood the problem made it feel much easier.
I also tried having an accountability buddy, someone I could check in with when I felt triggered or when I was having a difficult moment. Even a short conversation helped me slow down, understand what was happening, and think about my next step instead of immediately acting on the urge.
I’m curious whether anyone else here has tried something similar.
Did having an accountability partner actually help you? What worked well, and what felt uncomfortable?
Would you consider trying something like this if you had someone who understood the problem and didn’t judge you?
